My Keurig dispenses too much coffee

You`ll want to start by checking that your cold water reservoir is seated properly. Make sure that everything is aligned correctly. Then do this test: Start a water-only brew and see if your Keurig has dispensed the correct amount.

Returns Policy

If you`re not satisfied with your Keurig® coffee maker, you can return it within 30 days of purchase. To start the process, kindly contact our Customer Service department at 1-800-361-5628 or email us using this form. Customers are responsible for the return shipping fees.

Clean the Needles

If after descaling, your problem with the Keurig not brewing a full cup is still happening, it may be the needles that are the problem. Believe it or not, debris, like foil from the K-Cup, can get lodged in the needles that pierce the cup, disrupting flow.

Anything. In all honesty, brew hot water over any powdered food mix or mac and cheese and it`ll work just as well (and much faster than) a microwave or stove. So, before you complain about how difficult it is to make soup or brew a cup of coffee, remember your old friend the Keurig.
We need to do a cleansing “brew” first before using the machine. Just wait for the water to heat up, put a mug or contained at the bottom, then press a cup size. Discard the water that comes out. Select your coffee of choice.
The My K-Cup holds 10 grams of coffee, the equivalent of the standard 2 tablespoons needed for an 8-ounce cup.
100% of K-Cup ® Pods are Recyclable.
Most Keurig customers say that their machines typically last for three to five years. But here are some other signs that might let you know when to replace your Keurig before then: Your coffee doesn`t come out piping hot.
K-Cups have been confirmed to be BPA-free and made of “safe” plastic, but some studies show that even this type of material can have harmful effects when heated.
Pasta. Although pasta isn`t something I typically think of as an “instant” food, with the Keurig it can come pretty close. Put a single serving of dry pasta in a bowl under your Keurig spout. Brew water with the Keurig to cook the pasta.
This process removes calcium deposits, or scale, that can build up inside a coffee maker over time. Calcium and scale are non-toxic, but left unattended, they can hinder your brewer`s performance. Descaling should take place every 3 to 6 months or, for select brewers, when the descale light comes on.
Keurig Rinse Pods are the only Keurig recommended cleansing pod to be used with all Keurig coffee makers. For maximum effectiveness, use once a week or any time after brewing a flavored coffee, cocoa, or tea. Keurig Rinse Pods are safe, easy to use, and are compatible with all Keurig coffee makers.
Keurig`s strong setting is designed to brew coffee at a higher pressure, which results in a bolder, richer cup of coffee. This setting is perfect for people who want to enjoy a bolder cup of coffee with little added effort.
As a result, there is a bit of variance in the brew speed from one Keurig to another. However, you can expect that your Keurig will take anywhere from 1-4 minutes to serve up your cup of coffee, including water heat-up time.
If you drink several cups throughout the day and you keep your machine on, Keurig will save you so much time. The machine needs 60 seconds to brew an 8 ounce cup, and only 30 – 60 seconds to reheat the water for the next cup. Plus, you don`t need to deal with ground coffee or cleaning.
Medium grind is the best for your Keurig: Medium grind will produce a cup of coffee that is not too strong or too weak. Grind your beans at home to get the best flavor and consistency: Grind your own beans for the best cup of coffee you can get.
At its best, Keurig coffee tastes like diner coffee. At its worst, it tastes like hot brown water. A Keurig machine also takes less than a minute to brew, much shorter than the 4 minutes it takes to use a French press or a pour-over setup.
Answer. Keurig® pods are BPA-free and constructed using only FDA approved food grade materials. In addition, the temperature of the water dispensed in Keurig® brewers is well below the melting and softening points of the pod materials. Therefore, no plastic leaches from the pod into your beverage.
Making a cup from the Keurig is way easier than figuring out a coffee maker. The Keurig`s main appeal is how freaking simple it is. You just fill up the water tank, pop in a pod, press start, and you`ll have coffee in less than a minute.
While a drip coffee maker uses a flash-heating chamber and gravity to brew, Keurig machines employ a water and air pump to pressurize their brew process. This added pressure is key: it allows Keurigs to force water through each K-cup, and speed up the brewing process from three to four minutes to mere seconds.
Keurig K-Cups

To recycle K-Cup pods, start by peeling off the aluminum foil top. Toss the grounds, aluminum top, and paper filter, then rinse the plastic pod and add it to your recycling bin.

Keurig Green Mountain launched its first recyclable K-Cup® pods in select varieties in 2016. The recyclable K-Cup® pods are made from polypropylene (#5 plastic), commonly used in yogurt and butter containers.
Can coffee pods be recycled? Yes! Thankfully, many coffee pods are recyclable in the traditional sense, meaning they can be recycled in the same manner as other plastics and metals. Even some coffee pods that are labeled non-recyclable can be responsibly recycled in both traditional and non-traditional ways.

I received a Keurig as a gift for Christmas and noticed in the last month when entering for the larger cup of coffee the mug fills up about 1 inch, why is this? I love the machine and the coffee it makes, but this is upsetting. This was a very expensive gift!
ANSWER : I hope it is still under warranty.
This malfunction could have several causes far beyond what can be said here.

My first step would be to contact the “gifter” and invite him/her for tea.
Then of course, explain the situation tactfully so as to not to hurt his/her feelings by appearing to be overwhelmingly demanding.

“You and I know this is a high quality product that can only be a gift from a high quality giver. Therefore we are both victims of the proverbial statistical rate of 1 out of 10,000 unit failure.
Would you kindly tell me where you so thughtfully and caringly purchased it for me, so I can take it there for warranty repair, or replacement? Please?”

I’m confident your friend will be more than happy to help.

I have a kitchenaid artisan coffee machine which is 15 months old just out of warranty. when you start to make an esspresso coffee the machine runs but no water is being pumped through the coffee to the cup you can hear the machine working but no coffee.
Thanks Lloyd
ANSWER : Hello lloyd….. There are a few possible causes of this problem. The first is using coffee which is too fine a grind. The second is a machine which needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Most can fix those two areas themselves. The other causes have to do with the amount of pressure the machine is producing. If, for instance the boiler safety valve opens too soon, the pump will not get to the necessary pressure of 7 to 9 bars.
.That said, begin by cleaning it thoroughly as per the manual. IF you do not have a manual, here is the link to all kitchenaid manuals
.Thanks for choosing Fixya!
