The BISSELL® Symphony All-in-One Steam Cleaner combines a vacuum and steam cleaner into one machine, so you can enjoy the benefits of steam cleaning while also vacuuming your floors. Steam mops, like the Symphony, let you clean your hard floors without a mop and bucket or harsh chemicals – all they take are water!
Although some carpet steamers and cleaners have a suction mechanism to remove the cleaning fluid and water from your carpet after cleaning the area, you should only use them for steaming or cleaning a carpet and never use them like a vacuum cleaner.
Some steam cleaners come with descaling agents. In addition, there are a variety of descalers out there for use in steam cleaners, humidifiers, and other home appliances where water is vaporized. Whether you are using a descaler you purchased or making your own from simple baking soda and water, cleaning is the same.
Consider your specific needs and preferences when choosing which one to use. If you have hard floors and want a time-saving, deep cleaning solution, a vacuum mop may be worth the investment. If you prefer a more eco-friendly, versatile, and budget-friendly option, a steam mop may be the way to go.
Ultimately, running your vacuum over your carpets after a professional deep clean is great but remember to do it only after your carpet is completely dry. Vacuuming your carpet when it`s still damp could cause dirt to be transferred from your vacuum cleaner, so patience does pay off.
Do: Wipe up excess dirt before steaming. Steam mops essentially employ steam to loosen grime, which the mop head then clears away, but there`s no suction element in this appliance. This means that surface dirt will need to be vacuumed or swept up before you begin or you`ll only succeed in pushing dirt across the house.
In a nutshell, indeed, vacuum first! Before using a steam carpet washer or cleaner, the carpet should be vacuumed thoroughly with a standard household vacuum cleaner. This would get rid of any small soil particles as well as any gravel or sand that has made its way through the building.
A good rule of thumb is to have your carpet professionally steam cleaned at least once a year, twice if you seem to track a lot of dirt in. This way you get a good, deep cleaning and don`t let the dirt build up. Vacuum once or twice a week to keep it clean in between your steam cleaning sessions.
Our testing has found that all steam mops remove stains fairly well, with marginal differences, and are likely slightly better than a regular mop and bucket due to the heat and vapour produced by the steam.
Although distilled water can become stale, just like hard water when left in a clothing steamer, it won`t foam. However, it`s still important to empty out the water from the steamer after every use, as distilled water can still harbor bacteria.
Fill the Tank With Vinegar

Fill the tank with distilled white vinegar or cleaning vinegar. Avoid using other types of vinegar because they may have sediment that interferes with the cleaning process.

The vapor loosens dirt and kills dust mites, mold, staph, and other allergens and harmful bacteria. No suction is required, since the high-heat moisture dries quickly. For heavily soiled surfaces, some manufacturers suggest steam-cleaning first, then wiping away dirt with a cloth before the moisture dries.
To ensure a thorough clean, pre-spray your carpet with a biodegradable cleaning solution. You can combine one part of distilled white vinegar with three parts of cold water in a spray bottle.
Sticky floors after steam mopping are often the result of residue from cleaning products that had been used on the floor. Using a dirty mop pad also can cause sticky floors.
What Should I Use? Good quality tap water. If you don`t have issues with hard water stains and buildup, your tap water is good.
During the washing phase: If added while the machine mixes the detergent with the water, the steam increases the temperature of the wash tub to improve the cleaning power, which also helps to activate the detergent. It does this by dissolving the detergent more effectively, to get the most out of it as possible.
The answer is that you should always dust first and vacuum later. The reason is simple. When you dust, you`ll find that some of the particles wipe away onto your cloth or duster, but you`ll never get all of the particles.
Dusting first is particularly important if it has been some time since you dusted. The duster will become filled with particles and large clumps of dust will drop to the floor. Once upon a time, cleaning experts recommended vacuuming first. Old-style vacuums would kick up so much dust that dusting was done last.
A. No, you should not use steam on your face every single day. Although the benefits of steaming face are far too many, steaming everyday can prove to be slightly harsh as the pores will not have enough time to close. Therefore, limit the process to 10 minutes once a week for best results.
“We would recommend vacuuming at least once or twice a week—and more often if we have pets—with the right tools to remove dust quickly and effectively,” Patel advises.
Adding a Detergent to your machine helps break down dirt and grime whilst steaming.
As we said above, when water evaporates, it expands 1600 times larger in volume to become steam. When it condenses, it compresses back into tiny droplets of water. And we call those tiny droplets of water condensation.
For water boiling under vacuum conditions, the steam is produced from the heat content of the water itself. This heat content is limited, so the amount of steam produced is limited.

ANSWER : Http://www.bissell.com/Product_Search.aspx?Criteria=1699
.Above is a link to bissell.com where you can get the full user manual. But to answer your questions, the cleaning solution does go into the small tank with the tube, the tube should be arched and go to the bottom corner of the small tank. Clean hot (not boiling) tap water goes into the inner bladder of the big tank. Fill it till you can see the water near the top.
