Through use, the bobbin case that holds your thread can become damaged if you have dropped it or you might not be able to adjust the tension to your normal setting. So the case might need to be replaced with a new one.
Insert the sharp tip of the seam ripper between the thread and the fabric. Gently pull the seam ripper upward away from the fabric to cut the thread. Repeat at the opposite end of the stitching you want to remove.

I took out the bobbin case & not sure if I put it back correctly. Now I had my thread going under it instead of over it.

So, I was sewing along and heard a thump…kind of sounded like a louder version of what you hear when the needle hits a pin…but I wasn’t using pins. This, of course, lead to the thread jamming so I had to clear that. When rethreading I pulled out the bobbin case to make sure it was seated correctly and found a kind of “v” shaped piece of wire (about the width of a paper clip I guess) sitting loose under the bobbin case. I took it out and threw it away. Still can’t pull up the bobbin threa
ANSWER : That part was the hook end of the spring that was supposed to put tension on the bobbin – it will have to be replaced. This is a special flat spring that unfortunately only a repair shop of a dealer has it – you will have to take your machine to one. Sorry, this isn’t something you can fix yourself. In the mean time do not attempt to use the machine , the needle arm will be damaged.

No Suction I get great suction in the hose, but when I plug the hose back into the unit, there is no suction and the air flow indicator line goes completely red. I've changed the bag and filters. I took the small panel off the back and made sure there is no clog, and took the hose off to make sure there was no clog there. Still no suction. Please help.
ANSWER : I about to say that’s always a clog of some sort that causes that

Replaces the belt on dirt devil dynamite pluse model put everything back together started it and it burt the new belt up that fast. I put it around the beater brush and the metal bar I thought it should go around, yet it seemed like there should be something else there to put the belt on. What do you suggest? Do you have picture I could go by?
ANSWER : The metal bar you put it around if the bar itself does not spin it is going to burn the belt up. Every thing that the belt is supposed to go around has to turn or the belt will rub on the piece not moving and brake.

My Kenmore sewing machine timing has gotten off. I am sewing a big upholstery project and it starting bunching thread from the bobbin. The thread is so heavy that I had to put some pressure just to get it undone. This happen a few times and then I found it wasn’t sewing at all. When I evaluated without the materials in place I could see the needle would catch on the white plastic piece under the bobbin and the thread would not catch on the metal arm. It appears to be off by 1/4 – 3/8 inch.
ANSWER : Hello

Disassemble your bobbin case which is realy quite easy, clean.thoroughly with a brush and air, paying particular attention to any.rust that may have formed, and any thread that may have weazeled it’s.way into small but very incremental areas of your case.

Make sure your needle is not in backwards. The rounded side should be on the outside

. If threading is correct and your tension is properly adjusted , then check the hook for scratches. If you have ever hit the hook with a needle, it will be scarred and will catch the thread every time the upper thread passes around the bobbin case. the hook is the sharp point on the shuttle that holds the bobbin case. If it is scratched, polish it smooth with VERY fine sand paper

Make sure that your thread arm that rises and falls, constantly having tension running through it and that it is in fact staying in place.

Alternate between the metal and plastic bobbins – sometimes the plastic bobbins tend to chip

I have a Liftmaster garage door opener and the garage door faces south. Normally the opener works great except at certain times on a sunny day.The sunlight is not directly hitting one of the sensors but the door will comedown as far as half way and then it will go back up and the lights will flash. If I go inside and use the button I can hold it down until the door is fully closed. However, sure is a pain to have to take the car out, go back into the garage, shut the door and then leave the h
ANSWER : Sounds like a problem with a limit switch or something getting in the way of the electric eye that interrupts for safety reasons. .Clean the electric eye transmitter and sensor of debris and cobwebs and make sure the wires are attached properly..Check the operation of the lifting media track or chain. Has it been lubricated recently?.If possible, clean the switch in the transmitter in the car, it may be shorting out.

I just got a new machine (new to me anyway) new home hf106 model. i need to thread the bobbin on the new thead i am using and am not sure where to put the empty bobbin and how to thread it. help!
ANSWER : Janome New Home?

Unfortunately, Janome doesn’t put the manuals for older machines on their website. Your best bet is to contact your local Janome sewing machine dealer and ask for a “copy” of the manual from them. A photo copy should be sufficient for your purposes. Otherwise I understand you’ll have to buy a manual and wait to have it shipped.

But carefully look at your New Home. On the top toward the right there should be a fitting that looks like the bottom half of a spool. and next to it is a thing that almost looks like a mushroom.

Put the spool of thread on the spool holder, run the tread to and around the tension discs on top then thread the end through the hole in your empty bobbin. Place the bobbin on the thing that looks like a half a spool and push the whole thing to the right toward the “mushroom.”

Press start, or hit the foot feed. Wind slowly for best results.

When full, stop and move the bobbin winder back to the Left (sewing mode)

Now… hold your bobbin between your right thumb and fore finger… pull the thread a few inches… your thread should be coming off the LEFT side of the spool, if not flip it over and try again. Open the bobbin area, drop it in with the thread coming off the left to the bobbin.

hold bobbin still with right index finger and with left hand slip the tread between the bobbin race’s tension spring then if your model has a channel for the tread… follow it… otherwise pull straight back, replace the bobbin cover on the machine…..

Thread top thread then use the hand wheel to take up the bobbin thread.

(Of course this all assumes your New Home is similar to my janome or brother.) Have fun!

Be sure to get some good needles…. 😉
