Air Is Stuck in Pump or Hose

If the cleaner is still not spraying despite the water and detergent tanks being full, there may be a bubble of air stuck in the pump or the hose. To fix this, you need to turn the cleaner on and lower the hose down to the floor.

If you notice that your Hoover shampooer or carpet cleaner doesn`t spray water or the brush roll doesn`t spin, then typically you need to replace your turbine assembly. This is another very common repair need for these shampooers because the turbine is air-driven.
Check that the vacuum cleaner is plugged into a working power outlet and that fuses and breakers don`t need resetting. An activated thermal cut-out due to a blockage is the next most likely cause of the problem. Check for blockages in the hose and filters, and remove any obstructions that you find.
Try refilling the Clean water tank (B) Tank with clean water and appropriate amounts of Britex cleaning solution. Ensure the small solution hose is still connected at the front valve connection and the other end to the carpet wand; try a disconnect and reconnect.
A: Yes, you can just rinse your carpet with plain water when using the Hoover SmartWash Automatic Carpet Cleaner. Helpful?
You can use any brand in this machine. I have used bissle, hoover, even a Walmart pet one. They all work great.
Upholstery Tool: The upholstery tool has a small, flat head and powerful suction, this attachment works well on fabric surfaces such as mattresses, couches, chairs and other fabric based pieces.
The key to cleaning your carpet efficiently is to work in straight, consistent lines. Squeeze the trigger on your carpet cleaner to release the water, and push forward a few feet. Then release the trigger, and pull back over the same line.
Still, it will do a great job with your carpets and sofas. Hoover CleanSlate Pet carpet and upholstery cleaner – clean large surfaces at once and will do a fantastic job removing pet hair and keeping your sofa clean.
For this, you`d need to make a cleaning solution first. What you`d want to do is mix ¾ cup of warm water, ¼ cup of vinegar and a tablespoon of dish soap of any scent. This mixture works well with fabric upholstery. If you have synthetic upholstery, mix one cup warm water, ½ cup vinegar, and ½ tablespoon of dish soap.
Heating Element. A common cause to your cleaner not producing steam can be a failed heating element. As the heater is used to heat up the water, if that has ruptured or burnt out your steam cleaner will not produce any steam. With the water tank filled and switched on the steamer should sound like a boiling kettle.
Steam washing machines use a combination of water and steam to boost the temperature inside the drum. This causes fibers to relax and therefore absorb water more efficiently.
This carpet cleaner is meant to serve as the second part of the upholstery cleaning process. First, you vacuum up pet hair and loose dirt, then you use the Hoover SmartWash Advanced Pet Automatic Carpet Cleaner to deep clean and pull any remaining dirt off the upholstery fibers.
To fix a clog in the hose, feed one end into a garbage bag, and poke the other end with the back of a mop pole, until you push the clog material out into the garbage bag. To fix a clog in the vacuum, whether it is a canister or bag, use your finger to feel for a clog. Pull as much of it out as you can and discard.
What`s happening with your vacuum cleaner is that a clog has built up and debris being agitated by the roller is spitting out or stirring up dust without sucking it in.
The most common problems found in vacuum cleaners are low suction force, excessive noise, burning smell, vacuum not turn on, and overheating. These issues can be fixed by either cleaning the device or replacing some parts of the device. At times, it is best to seek a professional to fix the cleaner effectively.
I like to pre-treat my stains by using a 50-50 mix of the concentrated solution and water. You can add it to a spray bottle or just use your fingers to dab a bit of it on the stain. Let it sit for 5 minutes then shampoo over it.
A: You actually can leave it because unless you`re doing a really heavy job you probably won`t even use half of your clean water. I wouldn`t leave the clean water if I didn`t plan on using it in a week. Make sure you clean the dirty water immediately though. Helpful?
Corner Cleaner

The narrow, angled crevice tool should be the go-to vacuum accessory for cleaning areas that the vacuum is too bulky to reach. Slide it along baseboards, between vents, and in other tight corners to pick up dust and debris. You can also use this attachment to clean under couch cushions.

I boil the water and pour it in carefully—boiling hot. Most home cleaners do not use the power of boiling water, but I do. I have done this for 14 years now, and without any problem.
Yet, the unfortunate truth is that you should never use shampoo or soap to clean your carpet. By using shampoo on carpet, you`re doing damage to the carpet`s fiber. And shampoo leaves a residue that can cause irritation to you and your family members.
The Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Cleaner does not heat the water itself. Please fill the clean water tank with hot tap water. The use of hot water as opposed to cold, significantly improves cleaning performance.
To get the best results, it is advisable to vacuum your carpet first before the deep cleaning. Vacuuming helps remove loose dirt particles, hair strands, and pet dander that have been tracked into the home.

ANSWER : Confirm that the hose is correctly connected to the clean water supply. If so, then remove it and, with the trigger operated on the hose, try to blow into the water feed connector. I have a new Hoover Dual V steam vac that I bought from a neighbor who only used it once. I have only used it once since then and it worked great. This time, because I am pregnant, I bought some non-toxic cleaner that was much thicker than the very watery Hoover soap. This vac has a wash option and a rinse option. The rinse option works (sprays and sucks properly), but the wash cycle doesn’t at all-neither soap nor water comes out. Nothing comes out, but it still sucks. I took everything o

Need instructions how to use Hoover Steam Vac Spin Scrub. I borrowed it from my Sister and she left it with no instruction book or letting me know how to operate it. I put water & cleaner in top tank. That’s all I know to do. Do I put any water in bottom tank? I figured not, since that is probably where the water goes when sucked up by vac. Do I leave lid on bottom tank? I usually use a commercial cleaner, and this is very different. I need to know NOW, as I must return it to her today, and I’m
ANSWER : I did have a solution in just a few minutes. Someone responded with a solution that gave me the website where I could go and print the manual in pdf, so did that, and checking instructions I was able to clean my carpets and get the shampooer back to my sister later the same day. I really appreciated your site and help I got for my problem. I found it on google. Thanks again!

I have a Hoover SteamVac F5914-900 SpinScrub… The last time I used the hand tool attachment, it worked fine. Just tried to use it again, and now I only drips of water will come out of the hand sprayer, if that. I have tried prepping it for up to 15 seconds like the manual says… no luck with that. Also it is making a big puddle on the floor, probably because the brushes on the main unit keep spinning when I am trying to use the hand tool which I dont think they are supposed to do? Can a
ANSWER : The brushes can be turned off on most of them via a switch on the hood. There shouldn’t be water coming out onto the floor unless you are pulling the trigger at that top. You probably broke this when attempting to use the tools.

.Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The only thing that I can recommend is that you may have a bad switch, some vacs may have a broken belt or the drive mechanism inside the Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 in or by the brush assm section and is need of repair. Please check the trouble shooting section of the owner’s manual if you’re needing help and to save money. If you don’t have one then contact the Hoover factory cust serv. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

While using my mop yesterday, it stopped letting steam come out. Tonight I plugged it up again and you could hear it trying to steam. I push the button in to release the square frame and it pushed out a burst of steam and pushed the head off. Put it back together and it still will not let steam out. No matter how much water is in it.
