Where do I find the model/serial number of my machine? Model and serial numbers are printed on a label, which is usually located on the back or on the base of the unit.
To power on the machine, step on the red Power Switch Pedal located on the back of the vacuum by the bottom. If there is still no power, unplug your machine from the wall. Check the entire length of the power cord, and discontinue use if there is any damage.

Replace the Brush Belt

If the vacuum is still hard to push, tilt it back far enough that you can inspect the moving brush while the vacuum is running. Be careful to avoid getting too close to the moving parts. If you see that the brush is not turning, that means you will need to replace the brush belt.

Make sure the power cord and the plug are not damaged. If either are, contact our Consumer Care team. Make sure the outlet works by plugging in a cell phone charger or small appliance. If it doesn`t work, check another outlet.

Yes, you can add other multi-surface cleaners or vinegar except it is recommended that during your warranty period to use the Bissel multi-surface cleaner to not void the warranty. Just make sure that after every use you thoroughly clean all parts to avoid clogging the spray nozzle.
For most models, the lowest setting is optimal for bare floors or thin carpeting. The middle setting offers the best suction for slightly fuller carpets. The highest setting is best for plush carpets or area rugs.
Flush upright and portable machines after each use. Empty and rinse the dirty water tank after each use for upright and canister machines. It`s best to clean any parts of your vacuum you used for wet cleaning after you`re done using them. Rinse the filters for canister machines when they`re visibly dirty.
Lack of power, a bad power cord, failed drive motor or broken wires in the vacuum hose can prevent the vacuum cleaner from starting. Make sure the electrical outlet that you`re using for the vacuum cleaner works. Try using a different outlet if you suspect that the outlet you`re using is dead.
Turn the robot ON. Press the Start/Pause Button to start cleaning. Note: When finished, the robot will return to where it started. To have the robot return to the dock, start the cleaning cycle while robot is on the dock.

Operating manual i have lost my operating manual for my bissell Model #9500 proheat x2 cleaner. where can i get another manual? on one of the sites it shows that i can download the manual but for some reason i can not down load it. can you please help me with this problem?

This was my grandmothers machine and when she passed there was no owners manual so I am not sure how to use the settings on it or oil it properly. I so want to use it cause it was hers but don’t want to mess up the machine. She never even got a chance to use it before she passed away. I just have no owners manual. No manual Hi there my bissell will not **** up the water its been some time ago that I used it and it has not been used more than 2or 3 times can any one help me with this. .CHeck to see if the front of the unit is clogged with hair (espically if you have a dog or cat) also check on the fill tank if the red filter is clogged. An easy test to make sure you unit is working is to turn it on with out the fill tank in it. CHeck for suction on the right side (if you are standing behind the unit) IF not you either have blockage somewhere or the pump is not working.
