Where do I find the model/serial number of my machine? Model and serial numbers are printed on a label, which is usually located on the back or on the base of the unit.

The level you set your vacuum depends on the height of your carpet. For bare floors, use the lowest or bare floor setting, for short and medium pile carpets use a medium setting and finally, for plush carpets use the highest setting.

Yes, you can add other multi-surface cleaners or vinegar except it is recommended that during your warranty period to use the Bissel multi-surface cleaner to not void the warranty. Just make sure that after every use you thoroughly clean all parts to avoid clogging the spray nozzle.
For most models, the lowest setting is optimal for bare floors or thin carpeting. The middle setting offers the best suction for slightly fuller carpets. The highest setting is best for plush carpets or area rugs.
Flush upright and portable machines after each use. Empty and rinse the dirty water tank after each use for upright and canister machines. It`s best to clean any parts of your vacuum you used for wet cleaning after you`re done using them. Rinse the filters for canister machines when they`re visibly dirty.
Lack of power, a bad power cord, failed drive motor or broken wires in the vacuum hose can prevent the vacuum cleaner from starting. Make sure the electrical outlet that you`re using for the vacuum cleaner works. Try using a different outlet if you suspect that the outlet you`re using is dead.
