Vacuums\015 I can't put the filter back. I am not sure if the lip of the cotton bag goes over and around the rim or not. It doesn't seem it's possible to put the metal ring back in a stable position. Should it be inside or outside the lip? anybody has pictures???\015

How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :

Standard vacuums usually filter the outgoing air via the vacuum bag. In commercial environments where HEPA vacuums are required, such as construction or restoration sites, using standard vacuums with HEPA filters or bags may constitute a violation of EPA rules and may result in a substantial fine.
HEPA filters remove contaminants from surfaces and the air by forcing the air through fibers that trap them. The fibers are typically made out of fiberglass. There is very little airspace left between the filters, so they can catch even the smallest particles.
Non-HEPA vacuum filters typically retain more like 96% of the dirt, which makes a big difference if you have breathing issues. HEPA filters also trap droppings from dust mites, along with pollen, mould, pet dander and tobacco particles.
Whether you`re cleaning a small closet or your entire home, you should never use a vacuum cleaner without a HEPA filter. The problem with `regular` vacuum cleaners is the fact that they spread dust and allergens around in the air rather than removing them, which essentially makes the problem worse.
But although a HEPA filter is not a magic bullet by itself, careful vacuuming with a HEPA filter will help catch some of the smaller environmental contaminants we live with. For a cleaner home, they`re worth the added expense.
To be certified as a HEPA vacuum cleaner, a vacuum cleaner must meet the standards for filtration efficiency. In the United States, a vacuum cleaner must be able to capture at least 99.97% of particles that are 0.3 µ in size or larger in order to be certified as a true HEPA vacuum cleaner.
If you are using a vacuum with a HEPA filter in a strictly residential setting, the filter should last you around two to three years before you need to replace it. It depends on how much you use it, but regular use based on an average cleaning schedule should keep it doing the job for between 24 to 36 months.
Put It Near the Problem

“Place a portable HEPA air purifier in the room with the most potential contaminants,” says Negron. Don`t place it in a corner or tuck it behind furniture. To optimize air flow, “target entry points, like a doorway, a busy hallway, or a window …

No. They do not remove carbon dioxide (CO2). Almost all air purifiers are designed to capture some combination of particles and toxic gasses, but CO2 can`t be captured by the same filters that capture other gaseous air pollution.
The difference between a HEPA filter and other filters is that HEPA filters are made of thin fibers of glass, and contain some level of activated carbon-based material.
Vacuum filtration is a procedure in which a pressure differential is maintained across the filter medium by evacuating the air below the filter paper. Vacuum filtration provides a force on the solution in addition to that of gravity and increases the rate of filtration.
High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) vacuums are in several applications because they can contain and eliminate even the most hazardous materials found on earth. However, there are significant differences between true HEPA filtration and standard HEPA filtration (also called HEPA type filtration).
A HEPA filter works by forcing air through a fine mesh that traps harmful particles. Commercial vacuums with HEPA filters capture 99.97 percent of particles from air, such as dust, animal dander, smoke, mould, and other allergens down to 0.3 microns thus improving the quality of air.
HEPA filters remove fine particles like smoke or pollen and mold fragments from the air, but like any filter they are eventually full of debris. As the filter fibers get clogged, the purifier will lose airflow and fewer particles will be captured.
Some caked-on dirt is OK.

It may sound counterintuitive, but on one level, a HEPA filter may work better when it has a thin, caked-on layer of collected particles—but at some point, air will have a hard time getting through the filter, Myatt says, which means the filter needs to be replaced.

HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) vacuums differ from conventional vacuums in that they contain filters that are capable of trapping extremely small, micron-sized particles. A true HEPA filter can trap 99.97 percent of all airborne particles larger than 0.3 microns.
This type of air filter can theoretically remove at least 99.97% of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria, and any airborne particles with a size of 0.3 microns (µm). The diameter specification of 0.3 microns corresponds to the worst case; the most penetrating particle size (MPPS).
Yes, you should run your air purifier 24/7 and you shouldn`t turn it off anytime. In fact it`s recommended to not switch off your air purifier at any time of the day or night, even when you`re sleeping or not at home.
This study provides insights into the proper use and performance of HEPA-filtered air cleaners to prevent the spread of COVID-19. IMPORTANCE Air filtration simulation experiments quantitatively showed that an air cleaner equipped with a HEPA filter can continuously remove SARS-CoV-2 from the air.
HEPA filters will not remove most viruses, because they are simply too small. HEPA filters will also not remove VOCs, or volatile organic compounds, as they are also too small. Still, HEPA filter technology can be combined with other technologies that will remove these things from your air too.
HEPA air purifiers do not reduce humidity. Carbon filters slightly reduce humidity. Caveat: if an air purifier or fan blows air directly onto your body, it can increase evaporation from your body and make you feel dry.
ULPA filters trap more and smaller particulate matter than HEPA filters. ULPA filters are 99.999% effective at removing submicron particulate matter of 0.12-micron diameter or larger, while HEPA filters are 99.97% effective for eliminating particulate matter of 0.3-micron diameter or larger.

.Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Typically the top filter of which is the sponge is washable but the HEPA filter is not, it can be brushed off and vacuum off with another vacuum, but the best filtration is to replace the HEPA filter and to wash the sponge filter, if the sponge filter get to bad then replace the sponge filter as well. Or, you can check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or to contact the manufacturer’s website and or phone #. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Our problem with our Rainbow E Series is that it has sucked water up and blown it out through the lower part of the hepa filter, making the filter wet and dirty. This had happened before and the repair shop did not see any problems with the machine, so we replaced the filter and were very carful not to overfill the tank and to change the water often. Now it has happened again and ruined another filter. Do you know what could be causing this issue? Can the filter be cleaned or will a new one be

1. There is no reason to waste money on an EXPENSIVE replacement. While some people may like the fact that something that may be brand new may work better, this is not always the case.
.

2. You can easily set the filter out to try as long as there is NO WET ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, if so, you will be facing electrical damage
.

3. Once you have performed a natural or sun dry on the old filter, ensure to check your unit for anything that may have caused the back clog.
.

4. Back clogs for your model are often times associated with a BUILD UP of dirt and HAIR. YOU may always use pressure air for example at a gas station to flush out the build up.
.

5. Other occasions, users accidently build the vac WRONG causing continual backup and water going where it is NOT suppose to go.

I had used Dyson DC08 to **** out a wet car carpet. A few days later when using the V/C, there was a burning smell. Subsequently I washed the flexible hose, changed the pre-filter and post filter , but I wrongly put the pre-filter in the spot for the post filter. When the V/C was next used, there was again a burning smell and sparks. The filters were switched, but the V/C would not re-start.
What shall I do?

Hepa filter stopped on Hoover Windtunnel 2 Model #U8361-900
ANSWER : This has a simple solution IF you have a air compressor with a high pressure nozzle. Outside the house, first remove the Dust bin completely and lay the unit down with the dust bin area up. now start blowing the nozzle at the hepa filter, Alot of dust will come out. Now start to rotate the filter while blowing the dust out. The filter will move one way easier, When there is no more dust reinstall the dustbin and check the suction and the rotation of the filter.
