Robot vacuums require a clutter-free space

Before setting your robot vacuum out to clean, you`ll need to make sure any loose items, toys, clothes, and other obstacles are picked up off the floor and stored away.

In a home with carpeted floors, a robot vac is fine for a tidy-up, but the carpet will need a regular going-over with a standard vacuum to get most of the dirt out.

My carpet cleaner (bissell proheat plus) is not steaming, dispensing cleaner. Seems like there’s a little thingy that should be spinning or turning….. When I work a small area of carpet, it just leaves behind dry blobs of carpet gunk like pet hair. I had to use a carpet sweeper to clean up. FYI – I filled the cleaning fluid container and after trying to clean the carpet, it did empty out but the carpet isn’t wet. Any tips? The manual doesn’t help.

Carpet stained recently cleaned my cream coloured carpet in my entrance hall with a carpet cleaning product, wet foamy spray type, ran out of this and found a part bottle of a different brand in my cupboard, used this to finish off however must be some sort of reaction and carpet gone a greenish colour i think (colour blind sorry ) any idea’s of any product that might restore my carpet, will try anything, nothing to loose. thank you Peter McGurk Goole East Yorks
ANSWER : Ok in the future try to have carpet cleaned only by a pro. For spot cleaning use white paper towels or dish towels and warm water. (ONLY WHITE) 99% of fabric is white and then dyed to color and if you use a color cloth you might pull the dye from the cloth into the carpet. Now what you can try is your basic dishwashing detergent like electrosal with warm water and a dishtowel. little at a time try to blot not rub. try AFTA if that doesnt work. wet the rag first with warm water. pour the afta on the wet rag not on the carpet.

I bought Roomba 560 robot vacuum cleaner about 3 weeks ago and it has been cleaned without problem all kind of positions of floors (also carpets) Last friday I anyway mountained nearby of outcoming door the black carpet. Now the situation is that Roomba doesn’t move and clean above of this carpet. What is the reason and how to solve it … ?.
ANSWER : Ok, take regular WHITE paper. Do not press it on the sensor, just make it long enough so it covers the sensor. Then, take some clear tape, and tape the piece of white paper over it. Watch for the wall brush and stuff, don’t get it to close to them or it’ll rip it off! It works great, it cleans all my dark carpets, rugs, etc.! I’m thrilled! For a while, I didn’t use my Roomba for that reason. But the cliff sensors ate on the bottom of the bump plate. I’ll put the directions in order.

We have a Bissell Proheat Cleanshot 2X Model 9500 Steam carpet cleaner. The first time we used it things were great. The second time we used it it left tracks in the carpet. We have no idea what caused this. We tried using the machine on an entirely different carpet and it did the same thing. After vacuuming the carpet about 10 or 12 times, the tracks are still embedded in the carpet – HELP!!!! We’re read and reread the manual and contacted customer service and received no help.
ANSWER : First things first. It’s only the second time you have used the machine, so it must be fairly new. If you have a receipt and the unit is less than a year old you should take it to an authorized Bissell repair center and have the machine inspected under warranty.

.Otherwise, The jets on this unit clog easily, there are two of them and you can locate them under the recovery tank towards the front of the machine, and blow them out with an air compressor. To prevent the jets from clogging in the future make sure to flush all shampoo out of the machine with clean water when done using it. That is most likely your problem.

.If it is leaving black streaks on your carpet it could be coming from a burnt belt or melted brushroller part, in which case inspect the belts and brushrollers and replace the damaged pieces.

IT MOVES ON CARPET BUT DOESN’T PICKUP ANYTHING.

Just got my dc33… one issue… the dial switch to control btn bare floor / carpet mode doesn’t seem holding in it’s position when I set to the bare floor mode… it keeps coming back to carpet mode with brush-bar activated… the dial doesn’t really click to the floor mode. Any advice on this?

EVERYTIME I PUSH THE BUTTON REALLY LOW TO ALLOW THOROUGH CLEANING IN THE CARPET, THE LIGHT DOESN’T TURN ON AND IT DOESN,T **** THE DIRT AT ALL.. IT ONLY WORKS IF YOU PRESS IT UP ONCE BUT IT DOESN’T GET ALL THE DIRT AND ESPECIALLY HAIRS.. WHAT HELP CAN YOU GIVE ME? THANKS
ANSWER : You need to replace the belt whenever the green brush indicator light goes out or is not steady. Be sure to observe the wear settings when re-installing the brush. The ends of the brush are marked with 1, 2, or 3 notches and numbers. In normal use the brush should have setting # 1 towards the rug. These settings adjust the brush for wear, and moving the bristles out prematurely will result in excess brush and belt wear.

Bissell Power wash /powerbrush sprays the carpet ok ,but when empty doesn’t fill up with any dirty water from the carpet .Is there anything I am not doing correctly
ANSWER : It sounds like the suction isn’t working right. Check the dirt tank to make sure it is on correct and check the red plastic filter on the dirt tank to make sure that it isn’t clogged.
