Should the brush not rotate freely there may be debris tangled around the ends of the brush, carefully remove any obstructions or replace the brush with a new one. We recommend that you fit a new belt and brush once per year to keep your Reactive vacuum working efficiently.
The brush roll or its bearings may be clogged with hair, threads or dirt. Make sure they are clean and the roll spins. The belt may also have slipped because it was loose. Check the fit of the new belt when it is installed.
Vacuum Cleaner: Why doesn`t my vacuum cleaner`s brush roll spin? A broken drive belt, damaged brush roll, jammed brush roll bearings, tripped brush roll motor overload, failed brush roll motor or a wiring failure in the wand or nozzle can prevent the brush roll from spinning.
Clear the brush roll of any hair and debris and inspect by placing it on its end and spin. The brush should spin freely. If it doesn`t spin; it may be time to replace.
1. Motorized Brush Head. Sometimes called the “power nozzle,” this large attachment has a rotating brush to clean carpets more like an upright.
Clog located in the vacuum hose

Turn the unit on and feel the suction at the end of the hose handle. If there is no or low suction, then the clog is in the hose. You can remove the clog by running a long, stiff object through the hose, such as a butter knife, starting at the wall end.

If your vacuum cleaner has lost suction power, it`s time to empty the container. Vacuum cleaners come with various foam or mesh filters. These might get clogged over time if not cleaned or replaced properly. This will cause your vacuum to lose suction.
Troubleshooting your vacuum cleaner`s loss of suction

The filters can become clogged over weeks of use, reducing the vacuum cleaner`s suction. You should clean the filters periodically following the manufacturer`s instructions, but a significantly soiled filter should be replaced with a new one for optimal operation.

Inspecting the Vacuum Commutator for Motor Brush Problems

Test that by turning the motor off and pushing on the center shaft, the armature. If it has any play, besides spinning, then replace the motor. If solid then replace the brushes – motor brush replacement instructions.

The rotating brushes move counterclockwise together, trapping and absorbing the dirt that is deep in the carpet fibers.
The two settings – brushes up and brushes down are to help you clean both carpets and hard floors. When the brushes are up you can get nice and close to carpeted floors and suck up all the dust and nasties hidden in the fibres.
Rotating Brushes A rotating brush is used in conjunction with a machine that spins it on a cylinder or on a ring. This spinning motion cleans objects that come in contact with the brush`s bristles. These brushes can be found on shoe polishers, street cleaners, conveyor belts, runway sweepers and more.
The roller brush is the combination of a belt, a roller, and sometimes a small vacuum head motor. The roller spins, and the bristles attached to it sweep up debris that then gets sucked into the dirt container of the vacuum. The brush head also helps to pull dirt and debris out of carpets of various pile heights.
If your vacuum is set too high above the carpet surface, the vacuum can`t attract the gritty soil below. If the setting is too low, the vacuum`s beater bar or brushes can “fuzz” the carpet`s surface, causing it to look worn or frayed.
The most common problems found in vacuum cleaners are low suction force, excessive noise, burning smell, vacuum not turn on, and overheating. These issues can be fixed by either cleaning the device or replacing some parts of the device. At times, it is best to seek a professional to fix the cleaner effectively.
The most common cause of loss of suction is that the filters have become blocked. They may require cleaning or replacing. Another cause could be that the vacuum cleaner hose is blocked.
If you are finding that the brush head is not spinning or the light is not working, the contact patches between the main body, extension tube and the floor head may need to be cleaned. Ensure that the two connection points are clean and have no dust which could cause the connection to fail.
Roller brush is not spinning

Check to make sure the vacuum is switched to the correct mode. The switch should be in the Power and Brushroll mode to make the roller spin. If it is in just the power mode the roller will not move. The brushroll indicator light should be green when working.
