How Steam Cleaners Work. Water is heated past the boiling point and forced out as pressurized steam through a nozzle, brush, or other attachment. The vapor loosens dirt and kills dust mites, mold, staph, and other allergens and harmful bacteria. No suction is required, since the high-heat moisture dries quickly.
The verdict: Kärcher steam cleaner SC 3 easyfix

It might not have the highest steam pressure, but at 3.5 bars it`s more than adequate and its other features – whether it`s the descaling cartridge or the quick-release tab on the microfibre cover – make this one of the best out there for some seriously speedy cleaning.

Steam is versatile – it can be used for cleaning kitchens, bathrooms or windows, as well as for ironing and on textiles.
Can you use a Karcher Steam Cleaner on Upholstery? Yes, you can! Most importantly, the cleaning process doesn`t involve chemical agents at all!
Steam cleaning kills germs, viruses, and molds.

When steam penetrates surface pores, it removes dirt, debris, bacteria, and other tiny elements with hot vapor molecules. These vapor molecules are so hot that they are able to kill even the strongest pathogens like E. Coli and Salmonella from your home`s surfaces.

Steam cleaning can remove tough stains on synthetic carpets. It can also deeply clean the carpet. Hot water extraction is better for carpets that are made out of natural fibers. Steam cleaning can cause the carpet fibers to shrink.
The Karcher SC3 will work on most surfaces including, floors, walls, chrome work including taps and showers, granite tops, upvc and plastic, windows, oven doors & hobs, as well as mattresses carpets and upholstery.
If you`ve recently purchased a steam cleaner, or are thinking about buying one, you may have wondered if you need to use distilled water in your unit. After all, you probably don`t stock your cleaning closet with gallons of distiller water. For all Vapor Clean machines, and most other brands as well, the answer is NO.

Absolutely. Using steam to clean windows is one of the most effective and easiest methods to use. A steam cleaner is the ultimate cleaning machine that uses hot steam to remove all forms of dirt and grime from windows. Steam cleaning is a simple two to three step process.
Yes! Steam cleaning is safe for your walls and won`t impact the other members of your household.
Removing soap scum with a steam cleaner

Soap residue and dirt in the bathtub and shower can be removed in a very gentle way with hot steam. A steam cleaner can also be used on all surfaces, even stone tiles, so the whole shower cubicle or bathtub, including fittings, can be cleaned in a single step.

So, where does the dirt go when you steam clean? Actually, it doesn`t go anywhere. Instead, the heat and vapour of steam cleaning ensure that all the unwanted substances or stains are fully broken down and easy to get rid of.
A good rule of thumb is to have your carpet professionally steam cleaned at least once a year, twice if you seem to track a lot of dirt in. This way you get a good, deep cleaning and don`t let the dirt build up. Vacuum once or twice a week to keep it clean in between your steam cleaning sessions.
This option, which can last anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hours, uses heat and water to soften grime and food residue from the interior of the oven. Steam clean cycles are great as “maintenance” in between deep cleans.
One of the main advantages of steam cleaning is that it doesn`t require harsh chemicals to get the job done. Steam cleaners can be used to sanitize surfaces using ONLY tap water. They`re an all-natural alternative for deep cleaning anywhere in the home.
Steam is perfect for carpets, as it is often capable of delivering results without a reliance on caustic cleaning chemicals. Superheated steam is directed exactly where it is needed. And the latest steam cleaners use the optimum amount of water, ensuring your carpet isn`t completely drenched afterwards.
Soap only lifts dirt and oil into water, making them suspend in water. Therefore, the more soap you use, the more your mop gets saturated with dirt. So, if you do not remove all the soapy water from the floor, the dirt remains, forming streaks on the floor.
Our testing has found that all steam mops remove stains fairly well, with marginal differences, and are likely slightly better than a regular mop and bucket due to the heat and vapour produced by the steam.
Typical steam cleaners can use anywhere from 1000 to 1800 watts. (For comparison sake, a typical lamp uses about 60 watts, while a typical computer uses about 365 watts).
A steam cleaner uses actual steam to clean various types of surfaces, and this steam can damage carpet fibers and remove the protection. A carpet cleaner is designed to force a mixture of hot water and cleaning solution into the carpet to clean deep down.
Kärcher steam cleaners can be used in lots of ways, from cleaning home surfaces and appliances to ironing and textile care. Using steam saves you time, and is great for everyday surface cleaning or that annual deep clean.
Fill the Tank With Vinegar: Fill the water tank with distilled white vinegar or cleaning vinegar. Allow the vinegar to sit in the tank for at least 30 minutes (up to two hours is best) to help break apart the limescale and mineral deposits. Expel the Vinegar: Turn on the steamer and choose the highest heat setting.

Can't switch Karcher window vac off – Karcher WV50 Window Vacuum
ANSWER : I had the same problem and I let the battery run down to stop it cycling on and off. My husband investigated it and found that there is a fault with the on board battery charge sensing circuit. (when the charge is about 10 to 15 % remaining the onboard ic controller cycles the unit on and off, irrespective of the switch. He checked it by cutting wires to the switch and it still cycled off and on so the switch was not faulty.
.He put it all back together and said to charge it before it gets too low. If it cycles on and off it probably needs a re charge at that point.
.Unfortunately there is no battery level indicator on the tool and nothing to suggest in the manual of what may happen when battery is flattening.
.I am taking this up with Karcher as I only used it three times so far and it it was not a cheap gadget. Hope this helps

Cant get my soap dispenser hose working on my karcher winner 10, any suggestion?, lost my instructions manual so dont know weather i need to be doing anything for it!
ANSWER : If you have not yet found a solution, then here are some steps to take.
.1. The soap dispenser only works on low pressure!!!!!!! So you have to. REMOVE the high pressure Sprayer so that all you use is the Trigger .Gun without the Extender.
.2. Pull out the thin Plastic Hose with the filter attached in the end, and insert into your container of detergent.
.It will only splatter the detergent over the area you want to clean, so .you will then need to REATTACH the SPRAYER into the hand gun to work .with the soap to lather, clean and spray of till clean.
.This seems to be the way the system works on this model……also known .as K2.36M (AU) in Australia or (EU) in Europe on the Karcher.com.au .site then Service then Manuals. or on the link below.
.Hope this helps any of you who has misplaced their Owners Manual just .like I did and had a great problem trying to find a link as Karcher .doesn’t recognize the Model No: as Winner 10 or 11.
.
.Cheers, Luke
