I have an easy flo vacuum model # 199C and it won’t shut off. It started out as an intermitent problem but now will not shut off when the hose is unplugged, nor when the off/on switch on the main unit is shut off. the only way to get the motor to stop running is to unplug the unit. Any ideas?
ANSWER : Just had this same problem. I unplugged the low voltage signal wires and the vacuum stayed on. Thus eliminating the possibility of the signal wires shorting out somewhere. I’m not really sure which wire(s) were causing the problem. But when I disassembled the top housing to expose the motor and wiring it seemed to work just fine. My theory is that the heat of the motor caused the insulation on a wire to melt which was then shorting somewhere inside the housing. I suggest removing the motor housing before buying any parts or calling easy-flo. If you’re lucky like me then your vacuum should be running again in a matter of minutes.

Kenmore 21875 One day it’s working fine. Next day, it won’t turn on. When I attach the hose to another vacuum cleaner, it runs. Is there a reset button on the canister? Could it be the receptacle is bad?
My Kenmore Progressive won’t turn on today either -but was fine last week. I cleaned the filters checked for blocked air, tried a different outlet and no luck. I’ll check the pins on the connections and see if one of them is not matching up or appears worn.

ANSWER : Give the prongs a wiggle and see if there is any play in them.Might just be a plug end.

ANSWER : For the stack of problems you have, it sounds like it be best for you to ditch it and get a new vacuum. The heavy problem sounds like a motor issue. The burning smell is most likely from the belt being loose on the power head.
Economically, you should just get a new one instead of replacing the whole system guts

My Fein won’t turn on without rapping it on the floor ! I turn the switch on and it won’t run until I tap or rap it and will shut off during operation. I’m sure there’s something loose , but should I attempt it or take it back for repairs . Last time I tried it , it woudn’t turn on at all . My wife purchased it earlier this year from a TV infomercial .
ANSWER : ELECTRIC FIELD (and all the push contacts are most of the time the problem the cause by this machines , dirt in the switch (the switch is made to disassemble to clean it sometimes .little screwdriver neccesary .
