Kirby Sentria I bought my kirby sentria just before we were to move house and although I have the instructions somewhere, they will be boxed up and I so want to clean the carpets before I move. Problem is that I don’t know whether the belt should be on or off when using the big silver front with the Kirby insignia on it. I know that the green light should come on when it is working properly and it does not, so I am doing something wrong. I can attach the attachments no problem but I want to use

My model F5906-900 — problem is the brushes have stoped working… I pulled the brush assembly out by holding the two tabs, and all seems clean and the brush assembly rotates easly… onced the brush assembly is removed. What I did notice is the female driver slot (found in the main assembly unit) that drives the brushes seems stuck..Is that normal when the machine is not hooked up to power? How can I get the brushed going??? it is a good machine, but the brush options is important too it’s ab
ANSWER : (1) Assure the Brush Control on the hood is NOT set to the OFF position.
.(2) Remove the brush assembly by pulling/unlatching it from base on each side.
.(3) Does one of the brushes have the drive pin present? It should be about ¼ inch square, and two inches long. It attaches the brushes to the drive mechanism.
.(4) Remove and clean the intake filter. One the base of the cleaner, behind the brushes, squeeze the two red abs together and pull the panel down to access the screen. Clean the hair/debris off the screen and reassemble.

Kirby Manual I can’t find my manual and I need to know how to use the handheld shampooer part of my Kirby. It is the Kirby Sentria. Can you halp? Thanks~ Naomi
ANSWER : The spray gun instruction HERE but be very careful – try shampooing in an inconspicuous area first. This is essentially as if you would buy some of those “spray on” upholstery cleaners in an aerosol cans.

Kirby Seems like you know alot about the Kirby. I know how to use my Sentria (unlike these other idiots) but I keep screwing up the shampoo tray assembly. The brush snaps into the tray just fine but the tray doesn’t really stick to the head. It detaches when pushing and pulling the unit. And who knows where that cover goes? It say ‘push here to open’

Hose for G3 Kirby doesn’t fit Sentria
ANSWER : Yes G3 and G4 had different gasket thus the suction blower connector connecting Kirby hose to the unit on later models is different. You do not need to replace entire hose but just the plastic part that connects to the vacuum. You can find it HERE. To remove old connector you may have to submerge the end of the hose into hot water (not to hot to touch) so the vinyl becomes soft and you can bend it in with finger bringing plastic end over the lip on the molded end of the hose.

Kirby sentria shampooing not right
ANSWER : Make sure u put the exact/right instructed amount of soap in the tank…..after each room, wash & clean tank filter. open tank all the way…..pull back slowly. if too much foam…adjust tank knob.
