Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum\015 I have a Kirby Ultimate G Carpet Shampooer and I’ve tried cleaning out the sponge thingy that goes into the intake and its still not producing foam. I go through about 3 tanks of solution on a 10×12 room and my carpet is saturated instead of barely wet with foam. HELP!\015
How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :
Matted carpet can easily be brought back to life. Spritz a little warm water onto the matted area then gently blow-dry with a hairdryer as you fluff the carpet fibres back into place with your fingers, the edge of a spoon or a hairpin. Allow the carpet to dry completely before walking on it.
A little bit of water can do wonders for boosting a suction cup`s grip. Using warm water, rinse the whole cup so it softens it up. Shake the drops of water off the cup quickly and then put it up on the wall. That can often do the trick.
Turn the unit on and feel the suction at the end of the hose handle. If there is no or low suction, then the clog is in the hose. You can remove the clog by running a long, stiff object through the hose, such as a butter knife, starting at the wall end.

.Otherwise, The jets on this unit clog easily, there are two of them and you can locate them under the recovery tank towards the front of the machine, and blow them out with an air compressor. To prevent the jets from clogging in the future make sure to flush all shampoo out of the machine with clean water when done using it. That is most likely your problem.

.If it is leaving black streaks on your carpet it could be coming from a burnt belt or melted brushroller part, in which case inspect the belts and brushrollers and replace the damaged pieces.

.Undo belt by rotating centre pop-out handle and then top snib.
.Assemble parts required – and clip onto the front – roller is underneath – but belt has to feed over the hoover’s spindle. Rotate centre assembly to pick up the belt and pull it – then fit and reverse direction to fit belt into machine.

.For the first time, I tried using my Kirby Sentra shampoo attachment. I’ve lost the manual but found instructions online for making the swap from regular vac to shampoo-er and got it all assembled. The foam laid down just fine; however, when I run the vac back over the foam to pick it up, there is not a stitch of water showing up in the tray. First I thought maybe it was bc I hadn’t put that much of the foam/water onto the carpet, but 12 hours later, the carpet is still wet in spots. Clearly my assembly wasn’t 100% but I don’t know how to figure out what’s wrong. Help!

.Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. In a case like this I would contact the factory, by the sounds of things you did everything right but it is a dry foam shampoo and some moisture will get into the carpet. I will list the Kirby factory phone 3 listed below for your assistance with this problem. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
