Vacuums\015 I have a Kenmore Progressive Canister Vac #21612. The metal wand, right at the point where it plugs into the powerhead, does not make a solid contact, it has about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of play in and out. Because of this it does not make constant electrical contact. Sometimes the wand comes out completely. I’m not sure if the problem is with the wand or with the plastic piece that is part of the powerhead. Any suggestions?..Charles\015

To put an attachment on your vacuum, press the red button near the base of the handle to release it and turn it into a handheld wand. Connect the hose to the top of the handle and slide your attachment into the opening at the other end of the wand.
A Dyson handheld that keeps cutting out is known as pulsing. A Dyson V7 pulsing problem can be very frustrating! A few reasons why your Dyson is pulsing are potential blockages or problems with the bin or filter.
One of the first things to do when your Dyson vacuum cleaner keeps starting and stopping is to empty the bin. It may be full, or the machine may simply perceive it as too full to continue working. Dyson vacuum cleaners require constant airflow through them to work, and a full bin can stop this from happening.
Handily stores the Combination and Crevice tools on the wand of your vacuum. So they`re always there when you need them.
If you have lost suction from the wand handle on your Dyson vacuum, remove the handle and check the hose suction, if the hose suction is good then obviously you have a blockage in your wand handle. Common sense but its surprising how many callouts I have had for this simple problem.
A Dyson vacuum cleaner has a lifespan of around 10 years. This is considerably longer than most other vacuums.
Most cases of a jammed or stuck brush bar are quick and easy to fix, simply pulling the debris gently from the brush bar. Alternatively, if you need to clear a problematic blockage, you can take the brush bar out of the housing easily, for quick maintenance.
Hot environments speed up battery aging. So it`s best to avoid cleaning the car in hot weather or leaving your vacuum in rooms that experience direct sunlight for prolonged periods. The same goes for cold porches and garages in winter.
For best results, the appliance should be used with the recommended attachments. Some attachments may not be included. Attachments can be purchased separately at
Why is there a hole in the middle? Because the motor and the filter are in the bottom of the handle. This is simple and genius because it`s actually balanced to be used by body builders and normal people alike. No need to do shoulder raises to prep or see a chiropractor to recover afterwards.
Hold the plug when rewinding onto cable reel. Do not allow the plug to whip when rewinding. To retract the cable, press the button firmly until it clicks and the cable rewinds.

When running the 2100 Electrolux vacuum, it is stopping and starting when pulling or pushing the floor attachment. Seems like the connection at the top of the handle is a little loose or the electric tabs are loose where the hose connects. Any ideas?
ANSWER : Other option is that on the hose end of the electrical connection, you can use an awl on the electrical connections to bend them in slightly so they make good contact when they are automatically plugged in when you connect the wands. HOWEVER, ONLY DO THIS WITH THE VACUUM UNPLUGGED, I RECOMMEND REMOVING THE HOSE FROM THE CANISTER TO BE CERTAIN THERE IS NO ELECTRIC CURRENT IN THE HOSE BEFORE USING ANY METAL TOOLS TO REPAIR.

Wand in stowaway dyson is hard to extend. Seems like u have to pull 3 clips from grooves in 3 rings around wand to extend and shorten wand which is a struggle
ANSWER : Hi there, you should just be able to hold the telescopic wand in one hand, press the button and pull the whole length of the wand out to its fullest position.

If the telescopic wand on your particular Dyosn is very stiff, you may need a replacement.

Your machine may still be under guarantee or warranty. If this is the case, please contact Dyson directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).
