A Revolving Brush Roll Greatly Enhances Carpet Cleaning

Vacuum cleaners specifically designed to clean carpeted floors have motor or turbine driven revolving brush rolls with rows of bristles and sometimes beater bars as well. These brush rolls revolve at a very high speed, agitating the carpet fibers in the process.

If the drum stops spinning mid-cycle, try stopping the machine, draining the water and rearranging the laundry. You might be using too much detergent or an inappropriate type for your appliance. In this case, your washing machine will stop the spinning cycle and try to absorb the excess foam in its drum.
Some of the reasons your washing machine drum is not turning could be a blocked drain pump, an overloaded or uneven wash load, worn-out motor brushes, a drive belt worn loose, an issue with the suppressor filter, low water pressure if excessive foam has been detected and when washing woollens.

Many DIY home cleaning solutions involve the use of vinegar or baking soda, but these are, in fact, the worst things you can apply to your wood floors. They actually damage and dull the polyurethane, which can irreparably ruin them.

Miele 6270 parquet twister brush has com apart – how to put back together?

I was vacuuming, and ran over an area rug with those tassle things on the end. the brush immediately stopped spinning. so i turned the vacuum off and un-tangled the brush. after replacing the brush and putting the assembly back together, the brush no longer rotates.
ANSWER : Did you smell something burning? You probably melted/broke the drive belt.

My model F5906-900 — problem is the brushes have stoped working… I pulled the brush assembly out by holding the two tabs, and all seems clean and the brush assembly rotates easly… onced the brush assembly is removed. What I did notice is the female driver slot (found in the main assembly unit) that drives the brushes seems stuck..Is that normal when the machine is not hooked up to power? ANSWER : (1) Assure the Brush Control on the hood is NOT set to the OFF position.
.(2) Remove the brush assembly by pulling/unlatching it from base on each side.
.(3) Does one of the brushes have the drive pin present? It should be about ¼ inch square, and two inches long. It attaches the brushes to the drive mechanism.
.(4) Remove and clean the intake filter. One the base of the cleaner, behind the brushes, squeeze the two red abs together and pull the panel down to access the screen. Clean the hair/debris off the screen and reassemble.

I am trying to replace my vacuum belt and can not get the roller brush to fit back into the slot after I put the belt back onto one end of the roller brush. Am I reassembling the belt and roller brush the right way?
ANSWER : If its a hoover or bissell, one side of the brushroll is slotted and slides. if its a eureka the hexagon end caps must be properly aligned, they go in at an angle. if its none of these provide me with the make and model # and i will give you a detailed description on installation. let me know if you need more help.

My daughter pulled to hard on the ceiling fan pulling out the chain. i have taken it off and apart, nothing appears to be broken but im trying to figure out how to put it together so it retracks, i assume it has something to do with the tension of the small spring inside of it, but not sure how to put it back together

ANSWER : Don’t even bother to repair the pull chain switch, get a new one at KMart, HomeDepot or similar store for less than $2..

Electrolux vacuum brush not turning problem:

was vacuuming and rug got caught auto shut off kicked off power to brush. instead of hitting red button to restart brush I disconnected brush to vacuum some hair in Conner. after i reconnected the brush and hit the red button but no power to brush. Light won’t even switch on. Hope you can help

ANSWER : Under the vacuum, there is a guard..remove the guard , either by 2 screws or by 2 clips..there is a belt under the guard..that is connected to the brush..the belt need to be replaced.

The back wheel came off and i went to put it back on and the other wheel that connects to the mechinism/gear height ajustment that goes up/down with a spring in it came off as well. i have been looking for a schematic to put it back together but cant find any.
ANSWER : You do not need schematics, it is fairly easy. Clean and lubricate the teeth on the inside of the front wheel shaft assembly. Insert the spring into small pedal and place the pedal designated opening on the Kirby front fan casing with teeth facing out. Then take the wheel shaft assembly and put it over those teeth and onto the fan casing. Use two clamps and 2 screws to attach the shaft to the fan case. Need any parts – go HERE.
