How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Check if the mop is properly plugged into the outlet and turned on. If it is on and still not functioning, try resetting the mop by plugging it into a different outlet. Add water to the tank if it is empty then try selecting the `STEAM` setting once more.
First, check to make sure the unit is plugged in and is in a working outlet. Next, check to make sure there is water in the tank. It is very important to make sure you are ONLY using water to fill the tank. Other solutions may cause breakdown of the gasket and/or other parts of the machine.
A steam mop uses hot water vapor to clean and sanitize hard floors, such as tile, linoleum, and hardwood floors, and other places and surfaces: walls, furniture, textile. It works by heating water in a tank, which is then released in the form of water vapor from the mop head onto the surface.
Heating Element. A common cause to your cleaner not producing steam can be a failed heating element. As the heater is used to heat up the water, if that has ruptured or burnt out your steam cleaner will not produce any steam. With the water tank filled and switched on the steamer should sound like a boiling kettle.
Using the Shark Steam Mop is pretty straightforward. First, attach the mop pad to the mophead, then fill the reservoir with water using the filling flask. Once the steam mop is plugged in, it takes about 20 seconds for the steam to build up, and you`ll hear the mop hissing.
With the exception of a few models that have dual functions, steam mops are typically designed to be used with water and nothing else. The steam alone does a great job of cleaning the floor. Always read the manual on your mop model thoroughly for complete use guidelines.

A steam mop is an effective tool for killing germs and bacteria without using harsh chemicals. These appliances can remove stains, get rid of grime, and deep clean your floors with little effort on your part. Plus, no mop bucket or hands-and-knees scrubbing is required—what more you could ask for?
The manual recommends distilled water. Water contaminants will clog the steam nozzle, which is applicable to the question about additives. Spray cleaners like 409, etc. on the extreme dirt areas of the floor or surface before steaming.
Do Steam Cleaners Use Soap or Chemicals? These appliances use only clean, cold, tap water. No chemical or detergents can, or should, be used in these systems.

Avoid Using a Steam Mop on Wood

Some steam mop manufacturers, such as Shark and Bissell, may say you can use it on a sealed hardwood floor, but Stocki recommends against it because moisture could still possibly force itself into the joints between the boards and get into the wood and warp it.

An excellent steam mop not only cleans and disinfects floors but is also advantageous. Moreover, when the ground is clean, dirt is not produced. As for a spin mop, it performs less. One of the great features of a spin mop is long-lasting, whereas a steam mop is not as durable.
A steam cleaner does to stubborn dirt which a regular mop can never do without cleaning products. Since a steam mop uses water, it makes the grime and dirt loosen before the mop head absorbs it. Also, steam dries quicker than water, so you don`t have to worry about mold regrowth after you clean.
Lucky for us, hot steam can break down grease and oil! By cleaning with steam, it can easily penetrate fine cracks between greasy dirt and surface to loosen and dislodge stubborn dirt particles.
Using a mop to unblock your toilet

Cover the end of your mop with two plastic bags and seal them up using an elastic band or sellotape. Use the mop just as you would a normal plunger with firm, vigorous plunges until you dislodge the blockage.

Mix your purchased descaler or mix 1 1/2 oz. of baking soda with one quart of clean water. Fill the empty tank with this mix. Seal the unit and turn the steam cleaner on so that it begins heating.
It`s easy to make the transition from dry to steam floor mops. First, read the manual for your steam mop. Then, just add water, make sure you have attached a clean microfibre pad, and wait a few minutes while the temperature climbs to around 120 degrees Celsius.
It allows you to control the amount of water on the mop so you can clean to your preferences. The microfiber mop head is also machine-washable and reusable. A single order comes with four microfiber mop heads, each expected to last an average-size home about three months with weekly mopping.
Light dust and soils on a hard floor surface can very effectively be removed with water only. Heavier soils, sticky syrupy soils, petroleum based soils, kitchen areas and restrooms typically require more than water and there are specially designed chemicals for these.

My steam pocket mop seems clogged. Steam does not come out of the mop head. The clog appears to be in the rectangular mop head. The triangular head still works fine. I’ve tried soaking it in hot water and soaking it with cleaning solutions. They have not worked. If I blow into the connection piece, no air goes through. That’s what leads me to believe there is a clog. If you can help, please do. I like the product and haven’t been able to use it for awhile because of this. Thanks.
ANSWER : I had the same issue with the rectangular mop and corrected it by disassembling the tube from the rectangular piece. There are two screws that will need to be removed in order to get access to the connector. Once the connector is removed from the rectangular piece you will need to **** out the clog. I used a small drill bit and was able to do this without attaching the bit to a drill. There is a slight angle to the connector which causes the clog to occur. The total job took about 45 minutes to accomplish. I could have purchased a replacement for $21.95 but thought I’d take a shot at fixing it. Hope this helps.

I broke the handle part of the shark steamer #53101. I don’t have the book to try to tell you the parts I need. Can you send me a picture or a copy of the steamer. It is purple. The above number may not be the correct one. It is broken in the center part. It has a little small circular piece that joins the two pieces which are broken. I have a new Euro-Pro shark model S3101. Used it one time and while I was doing my tile floor in my kitchen I reached under a cabnet to clean and hit the floor kick kind of hard and broke the head off of the shark. I have only the T shaped end on the shark now with the cleaning head broken off and looks unrepairable. I did kind of hit the floor kick hard but the plastic broke like glass. Can I put a new head on the remaining piece or is it repairable?

The mop makes steam, but when it builds up, it makes the mop head explode off.
