Sorry to hear you’re experiencing a problem with your DC27. Ordinarily you should be able to put your vacuum cleaner in the cleaning position by placing one foot on the head of the machine, and reclining the body. This is demonstrated in the user guide.
If you’re unable to do this, please get in touch with us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US), so we can run through some checks over the phone.
Kind regards,

You are probably facing a bumper sensor issue.
Try to clean the bumper first and if this goes on, either call iRobot service, or
take a look at this page for the step by step 9 beep fix.

.* The bag and connection – change it if it’s full
.
.* Turn the vacuum over and inspect the beater bar area for any clogging. You may have to remove the bottom plate to really clean it out.
.
.* The beater bar and especially the drive belt – this area gets dirty and the belt can wear out after continued use. The brushes can also wear out on the beater bar
.
.Try to work on the vacuum in a well ventilated area. Make sure you unplug the unit so it’s safe to service
