It needs to remain upright. Just like a refrigerator or freezer it uses a coolant to make the ice. Tipping greater than 45 degrees for extended time can cause internal damage.
The icemaker has a water pump, which draws water from a collection sump and pours it over the chilled ice tray. As the water flows over the tray, it gradually freezes, building up ice cubes in the well of the tray. When you freeze water layer by layer this way, it forms clear ice.
Just about the only place you shouldn`t use one is the great outdoors, since portable ice makers do need to be plugged in.
If you leave it running, the ice will gradually melt and be recycled into the water reservoir. While this is not problematic, the ice will form a clump and become less convenient to serve. I prefer to make as much ice as I need, storing some in my freezer, then I turn the unit off until I need ice again.
Ice makers produce a moderate volume of ice cubes, and are generally perfect for most families. An ice machine, on the other hand, is a smaller version of a full-scale machine you`d see at a restaurant or in a hotel. They do not attach to a fridge or freezer, rather standing alone and existing only to make ice cubes.
There is a timer that will activate the water valve, which then sends water straight into the ice mold (this is how you get your different shapes of ice). Then, a thermostat that is built into the unit will reach freezing temperatures and determine that it has frozen.
If the icemaker mold is empty, you can manually pour about 4 ounces of water in the icemaker mold. Wait about 2 hours. If the icemaker has dropped ice cubes out from the mold, you know the icemaker itself is working.
Clean All Water Filters
If your ice machine has the right amount of water but it`s still not making ice, the water supply line could be blocked. This can happen over time if you haven`t cleaned the machine in a while — especially if you have hard water, which can lead to mineral buildup.
Power Freeze speeds up the ice making process by reducing the amount of time it takes for the ice maker to make a tray of ice from 90 minutes to 55 minutes. To start the Power Freeze function, press the Power Freeze button. Both the compressor and the freezer fan will then run for up to 10 hours continuously.
A portable ice maker is a small appliance with the ability to produce a large and steady amount of ice throughout the day, all without requiring a permanent water line or installation. The ice making process is the same as the built-in ice maker in most refrigerator freezers, or the larger undercounter ice machines.
You need to leave it plugged in and running all the time if you want ice. If the unit is powered off the ice will melt and the water will return to the reservoir. This is just like your refrigerator or freezer in that it needs to be on all the time.
No, most portable ice makers are not designed to keep ice cold and frozen. They do not have the insulation to keep the ice from melting. Any unused or remaining ice cubes will slowly melt over time and replenish water back into the bottom water reservoir.

ANSWER : Try replacing the belt. Rubber belts stretch out after about a year.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.

.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.

I have a Kirby G4 Vacuum Cleaner – MOdel G4 D. I have never had any problems or repairs done to it in the past ten plus years that I’ve had it. This is an upright vacuum. I was vacuuming the carpet floor and was not having any trouble at all. I switched the vacuum off and moved it into a different room. When I tried to turn on the vacuum, it would not turn on. I checked with different outlets, used both front attachment and hose attachment. Checked the front part of the motor/ spiral case. This

The belt on my vacuum cleaner model 6596 bissel powerforce bagless turbo keeps breaking. As soon as I put on a new belt and start it up the belt snaps. It is the durabelt meant for this vacuum model. Also, my son has been having the same problem with his. He has the same model and same belt. This problem is occurring even after a thourough cleaning.
ANSWER : I would guess you aren’t centering the belt correctly, thus it’s edge is caught between the brush and another solid object, causing the breakage.
.When you get the belt on the the brush and the brush back in place, turn the brush a few times by hand to make sure it’s not catching on anything. After you get the powerhead put back together, do this again. It’s a common problem if the powerhead isn’t assembled correctly.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The best way to clean the HEPA filter is to take it outside and use a blower over the trash can and blow off the dust and dirt, or use things like an old paint brush and brush it off, or you can vacuum it off with another canister vacuum or shop vac if you have an extra one. For the best filtration is to replace it, there fore the air flow will catch most of the dust and dirt and then you would have to watch how fast it gets dirty and then do the maintenance.

I have a Kenmore canister vacuum – model 25614506. Some time ago, I was not able to turn the vacuum off with the on/off switch, but could still use the vacuum. Turned if off/on by pulling the plug. The other day when I went to plug it in, I heard a pop. Now the sweeper runs but the vacuum cleaner does not **** – no air flow. What could be the problem. The cleaner is only 4 years old.

Infinity Vaccum by Shark, model number NV31COS, will not start. The vacuum was running just fine until it grabbed the edge of a curtain. Turned it off to release the suction.
