Dyson DC25 Animal Bagless Upright Vacuum
How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :
Press the wand release button on the end of the hose and slide the wand all the way down. Position the wand and hose in the handle recess on your machine. Slide the wand down into the handle until it clicks into position.
Press the button on the end of the hose to release the wand. Fit the tool into the end of the hose. Remove the tool and slide the wand back into the hose. Position the wand and the hose in the recess on the handle of your machine.
If you have lost suction from the wand handle on your Dyson vacuum, remove the handle and check the hose suction, if the hose suction is good then obviously you have a blockage in your wand handle. Common sense but its surprising how many callouts I have had for this simple problem.
To add any Dyson attachment to your hose, simply slide the opening over the end of the wand. Rotate the attachment as needed to adhere it to the end of the wand. You will not hear a click or anything since the attachment relies on the tension between the 2 openings to stay in place.
Why does my Dyson keep cutting out? A Dyson handheld that keeps cutting out is known as pulsing. A Dyson V7 pulsing problem can be very frustrating! A few reasons why your Dyson is pulsing are potential blockages or problems with the bin or filter.

This is embarassing, but I have just looked at the Dyson DC07 manual and at my Dyson for about 20 minutes, and I can’t for the life of me find the wand release button on my actual Dyson…..the manual pictures don’t look like the parts on my Dyson….I don’t have a hose with a wand release button….the hose just goes straight up inside the handle….Can someone help me? Thanks 🙂
ANSWER : Hi the wand release button is located directly above the the Cylinder release button. The wand release button looks like the picture below. In order to releease the wand you must firstly make sure the Electrical cable is not wrapped up for storage. So unwrap the electrical cable. then find the item as in the picture. Press this button in and at the same time lift the wand. This will realease the wand from the spine of the Dyson.

Suction only coming through the wand when its replaced its not switching back to the upright. I have a dyson DC28 animal
ANSWER : Hi there, it’s Jack at Dyson.
I’m sorry to hear your DC28 doesn’t seem to be working correctly. It sounds as though the change-over valve may be jammed – this diverts the suction to the hose when you remove the wand, and back to the cleaner head when you replace the wand on your machine.
You may find a blockage is jamming the valve – you can check for this using our online Support guide:

My dyson animal 25 wand will not go back down
ANSWER : Hi there,
I’m sorry to hear you’re having difficulty replacing the wand on your DC25. This is likely to be because the hose has become twisted during use. Try removing the wand from the machine and allowing the hose to straighten itself out before replacing it again.
This should resolve the issue, but if you’d like any further assistance or advice, please call us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

My dyson 25 animal won’t go back into the stand up position…what is wrong and how can I get it back up?
ANSWER : I unscrewed the side panel (left side looking from rear of vac), it is gray and shaped a bit like a “C” or elbow joint and that let me get to the metal bar in the red foot pedal. I needed to move the metal bar so that it would slide along the grove in the gray side pieces above the wheels. I just needed an allen wrench and it was easy from there! I don’t know if this helps anyone else, but it worked great for me!! Good Luck.
I have a Liftmaster garage door opener and the garage door faces south. Normally the opener works great except at certain times on a sunny day.The sunlight is not directly hitting one of the sensors but the door will comedown as far as half way and then it will go back up and the lights will flash. If I go inside and use the button I can hold it down until the door is fully closed. However, sure is a pain to have to take the car out, go back into the garage, shut the door and then leave the h
ANSWER : Sounds like a problem with a limit switch or something getting in the way of the electric eye that interrupts for safety reasons. .Clean the electric eye transmitter and sensor of debris and cobwebs and make sure the wires are attached properly..Check the operation of the lifting media track or chain. Has it been lubricated recently?.If possible, clean the switch in the transmitter in the car, it may be shorting out.
Dyson animal We bought a Dyson Animal from Sears a few years ago along with a service contract. We took it each year to be serviced. One year I took it because it lost it’s suction. They sent it to the factory, but it came back still not working right. We did the same procedure over ands over many times than I can remember. I now have the cleaner in my garage and am using my old vacuum because I just can’t seem to get anywhere with Sears. Please help me. We paid almost $600.00 and now it can’t b
ANSWER : As someone who works for Sears, let me just say right now.. The service contract you bought sucks.. and does not really do anything for you. it was just a wast of money ( they have a new one now.. thats so much better because you get your money back in full on a gift card but anyways) When you buy a dyson from any place you really have no need for that contract, since sears CANT touch your dyson. Your really better off calling Dyson up and talking to them yourself, i know you said sears sent it out.. but wait heres a shocker.. Sometimes they never *really* send anything out to be fixed.. if it does not bring them in money, they don’t care.. and then they can get you to buy a *new* vacuum from them with that same S.C. that is of no use!.
.Sorry i cant help with your problem, but just wanted to give you a little insight on how Sears works since K mart bought them.
I need to replace the brushbaron my DC17 Animal model Dyson. It’s almost four years old. I can’t find the correct part number on the Dyson Website and I can’t seem to find a Dyson repair center in Albuquerque, NM.
What are my alternatives? If I can’t service this machine without returning it to Dyson, I won’t ever buy another one.
ANSWER : Hi,
.
.The original Dyson part number for the brush bar (often called brush roll) is: 911961-01
.
.If you type the above part number into Google Products (click link below) you will get a list of suppliers at varying prices. A genuine Dyson part will cost about $20-25. There are some cheaper replacements available but you may need a different belt to use these, so I suggest you buy an original. Make sure the supplier states the part is Original / Genuine Dyson or OEM.

.I can’t help you locate a Dyson service centre in Albuquerque, but you should be able to fit the new brush bar yourself. If you do need a local service centre, you can call Dyson on the following number – they will provide details of your nearest authorised service centre:

I have the dyson animal. There is something stuck in the wand tube and everyting is getting caught on it. There is very little suction from the wand. How do I get the wand apart or somehow get the object stuck out of the tube? Thanks
ANSWER : Yes, things stuck in vacuum hoses are not always as easy to remove as one might think. Trying to push it out with something can be counter-productive, and only get the thing stuck tighter! If you have a second vacuum, you can try sucking it out the way it came in (and risk getting it stuck in the other machine. Or you can try pulling it out, using a wooden stick with a small hook screwed in the end. If you try a piece of bent wire, you must be careful not to perforate the hose. Usually just requires a bit of ingenuity.
