Dyson DC25 All Floors Bagless Upright Vacuum
How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :
The cause of this is the carbon dust. The carbon dust eventually becomes too much for the airflow so it gets blocked and the powerful motor is blowing it`s exhaust really powerfully, so the air must go somewhere. The sealed filter is doing well but it becomes too much so it just pops the filter out.
If you find that your machine is turning off intermittently, the filter in your vacuum is most likely full and covering the ventilation system. Remove the filter, then empty and wash it. Allow the filter to dry for at least 24 hours, or until it is completely dry.
If your vacuum cleaner`s motor is running smoothly, but the agitator brushroll isn`t rolling as it should, you may have a faulty drive belt. Replacing a drive belt is a fairly simple task, so if you`re unsure where to start you`ve come to the right place for advice.
The most common cause of no power is the machine overheating and cutting out. In this case once the vacuum cleaner loses power leave it for at least half an hour and then try turning it back on again. If it comes back on again after an hour then clean your filters and check for blockages.
Most cases of a jammed or stuck brush bar are quick and easy to fix, simply pulling the debris gently from the brush bar. Alternatively, if you need to clear a problematic blockage, you can take the brush bar out of the housing easily, for quick maintenance.
This genuine Dyson vacuum part is the reset switch for the Dyson DC24 and D25 uprights. This switch needs to be activated if you experience a power surge while vacuuming, and your vacuum turns off as a result.
Sometimes your vacuum pulsates on and off or keeps dying when using the extra powerful `Max Mode`, which can be related to the charge of your battery. Try turning this function off by pressing the Max button on your vacuum.
If the machine switches on and off in quick succession, while making a pulsing noise, it could be an indication to either a dirty/blocked filter or an obstruction in the machine affecting the airflow. In the event of an airways obstruction the machine is designed to pulsate.
A Dyson vacuum cleaner has a lifespan of around 10 years. This is considerably longer than most other vacuums. So, if you`re looking for a high-quality vacuum cleaner that will last you for a long time, a Dyson could be a good choice. However, remember that Dyson vacuums are expensive.
I can assure you that air coming out of the Ball is a normal feature of the machine, as this is where HEPA-filtered air is returned to the room. The exhaust air will often feel warm as it will have passed through the motor.
To reset the Brush bar press the Brush bar control button twice or switch the machine off and back on.
Brush Head Bearings Are Clogged or Have Failed These are symptoms of bad or dirty bearings. You should remove the brush roll or rolls from the vacuum. Check to see that the bearings at the end of the brush roll allow it to spin freely. Make sure that there is no hair trapped in the bearings.
No, it is there to trap the carbon dust from the carbon-brushed motor and also any dust that managed to escape the cyclone stages and the pre` motor filter. Don`t do it, the suction of the machine with HEPA filter on is sufficient for most vacuuming work.
Hi there, we are unfortunately out of stock on the filter for the DC24. Due to Covid, it is taking longer than expect to restock some items. We unfortunately don`t have an ETA for restock, however with regular washing, you shouldn`t have to replace the filter in your Dyson.
Step 2 – Cleaning The Filter. Again, although it`s washable it`s a good idea, if it`s really dirty or caked with dust, replace it with a new one. It is recommended by Dyson you wash this filter again at least once every 3 months.

My Dyson DC25 keeps blowing off the filter within the ball. It then stops the ball from rotating freely. Will a replacement filter solve the problem?
ANSWER : I just started having the same problem. Did you figure out yet?
Ball filter is popping up, stopping ball rotating and ball area is getting hot
ANSWER : Hi there,
I’m sorry to hear you’re having difficulties with your DC25 Animal. If the filter inside the Ball will not stay in place during use, please make sure that when you refit it, it locks into place with an audible ‘click’.
I can confirm it’s normal for your Dyson to become warm during use, but if you’re concerned that it seems excessively hot, I’d encourage you to get in touch with us directly so we can help. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).
Best wishes,

Our problem with our Rainbow E Series is that it has sucked water up and blown it out through the lower part of the hepa filter, making the filter wet and dirty. This had happened before and the repair shop did not see any problems with the machine, so we replaced the filter and were very carful not to overfill the tank and to change the water often. Now it has happened again and ruined another filter. Do you know what could be causing this issue? Can the filter be cleaned or will a new one be

1. There is no reason to waste money on an EXPENSIVE replacement. While some people may like the fact that something that may be brand new may work better, this is not always the case.
.
2. You can easily set the filter out to try as long as there is NO WET ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, if so, you will be facing electrical damage
.
3. Once you have performed a natural or sun dry on the old filter, ensure to check your unit for anything that may have caused the back clog.
.
4. Back clogs for your model are often times associated with a BUILD UP of dirt and HAIR. YOU may always use pressure air for example at a gas station to flush out the build up.
.
5. Other occasions, users accidently build the vac WRONG causing continual backup and water going where it is NOT suppose to go.

I have the same problem as steve967 The dyson dc16 is fully charged, runs well for 5-10 seconds and shuts down. I wait for a second or 2 and it runs again for 5-10 seconds. A friend of mine had the same problem with his Dyson DC16 after just a couple of months and has replaced his Dyson with a Black N De
ANSWER : Dear Michael_Stad,
I am going to sound like a broken record but here is my same answer to another person with the same problem.
I have I had the same problem with my Dyson DC16, where it only runs for a few.seconds at a time with each trigger pull. My husband called Dyson.(Canada) and without hassle they shipped us a replacement part which I.just received this morning. The replacement part sent to us is: DC16.Main Body with Rating Plate. It is also under warranty for 1 year. The.great customer service makes up for the flaw in the machine. Also,.Dyson is aware of the problem. Hope this helps.
My purple Dyson Animal (without the ball) isn’t working correctly. When I turn it on, the red power light, as well as the medium pile buttons flashes. When I first turn it on, the brush rotates for 3 to 5 seconds, then once I start moving the vacuum, it stops and that’s when the lights start flashing. I’ve checked the filters, they are dry and installed correctly. What could be the problem?
ANSWER : I need help repairing my Dyson. I cannot push the buttons down to select Short pile/Medium pile or bare floor. The buttons will not push down at all. It will not allow me to select anything. I have very short pile carpet so it does not pick up that well.
I had used Dyson DC08 to **** out a wet car carpet. A few days later when using the V/C, there was a burning smell. Subsequently I washed the flexible hose, changed the pre-filter and post filter , but I wrongly put the pre-filter in the spot for the post filter. When the V/C was next used, there was again a burning smell and sparks. The filters were switched, but the V/C would not re-start.
What shall I do?
