Please note as of 2023 Miele stopped the production of this upright vacuum to give way to its surging cordless vacuum selection.
Miele upright vacuums are outfitted with premium filtration innovations and strong cleaning performance to make your home the cleanest on the block. Miele U1 Dynamic uprights feature a strong 1200 watt suction motor with 140 cubic feet suction at the intake.
The average life expectancy of a mid-range vacuum cleaner is about six years. You can fix or replace things like blocked filters, jammed brush rolls, frayed hoses, worn-out stick vac batteries and broken accessories yourself.
Durability & Warranty – If you`re looking for a vacuum cleaner with durability and longevity, look no further than Miele. Miele vacuum cleaners are designed and tested to last for 20 years. Miele vacuum cleaners come with a 7-year warranty on the motor and a 1-year warranty on parts and labor.
Upright vacuums are all-in-one devices of a sort. They stand upright, balancing on the power head/power nozzle (the part that sucks). The power head, dirt container, and handle are all attached as parts of the same unit. Canister vacuums separate the motor and dirt container from the handle and (power) head.
With 11 employees, 4 lathes, and a drilling machine, Miele and Zinkann launched their first cream separators and butter machines in 1899 in Herzebrock, Germany. Their guiding principle, “Immer Besser” – which translates as “Forever Better”, still shapes the company today.
Check the Rotator Brush and Wheels

Sometimes pieces of string or other objects get wrapped around your vacuum`s rotating brush or around the wheels of the vacuum. Unplug your vacuum. Turn it over and have a look at the wheels and brush. If you see any pieces of string or objects lodged there, remove them.

Plugged vacuum hoses are sometimes the reason for a loss in suction. Hoses can get clogged with hair, dust bunnies, string, or anything else that can`t pass through the other end of the hose. Airways inside the machine should be looked at as well. Wherever there is an air passage, check it.
One of the easiest ways to increase vacuum cleaner suction is to empty the dust bag or container. Dust containers need to have enough space for airflow, otherwise, they could get clogged and have less suction power. Regularly check your dust compartment and empty or change it when it`s already 70-80% full.
The exhaust filter, which could be either the Miele Active AirClean SF-AA50 Filter or the Miele HEPA AirClean SF-HA50 Filter, should be changed once every 50 hours of use. To make things easy for you, each of these filters comes equipped with an indicator strip that changes from green to red as the year marches on.
The first consideration when picking a vacuum is the type of flooring in your home. If you have a lot of carpeting, you`ll need an upright or canister vacuum for deep cleaning. If you have mostly hard-surface flooring, you might be able to use a stick or robotic vacuum for light cleaning jobs.
Vacuuming every day, or even a few times a day, is not going to create any long term problems. `But,` you might be thinking, `doesn`t the brushes spinning over the carpet on a beater bar wear it out? ` Sure, but a very small amount.
Miele Washing Machines are vigorously tested to last the equivalent of 20 years use. Miele Washing Machines are ecological and consume only the amount of water and electricity needed for excellent cleaning and rinsing results.
The short answer is that most Miele vacuums are made in Germany (with a few components coming from Romania), although some of the company`s lower-priced models are built in China.
Performance. While a good quality upright vacuum that comes with a HEPA filter is effective at cleaning, most central vacuum systems are simply more powerful. That means they do a better job at picking up dust and allergens that are not visible to the human eye.
Low-cost upright vacuum cleaners are frequently of Type I, whereas more expensive vacuums are of Type II. Canister-type vacuum cleaners are usually of Type II.
Bosch and Miele offer similar cutting-edge dishwashing technologies, but Bosch provides a more affordable solution. Both brands promise a decade or more years of reliable performance with sensor wash technology, flexible loading options, and high-quality materials for long-term use.
Miele. Founded in 1899, Miele is one of the most popular high-end appliance manufacturers in their home country of Germany and internationally.
Nearly all of their manufacturing is in Germany, and every component is produced directly by Miele in one of its 12 factories. In one year their Euskirchen factory produces six million motors. Two million vacuum cleaners and dishwashers are built annually in Bielefeld.
Miele (/ˈmiːlə/ MEE-EH-lə; German: [ˈmiːlə]) is a German manufacturer of high-end domestic appliances and commercial equipment, headquartered in Gütersloh, Ostwestfalen-Lippe. The company was founded in 1899 by Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann, and has always been a family-owned and family-run company.
According to our tests, the Shark Vertex Powered Lift-Away Vacuum is the easiest upright model to push, even on medium- and high-pile carpet. We also found the Bissell CleanView Swivel Rewind Pet Reach Vacuum Cleaner easy to maneuver on flat surfaces, though it was a little cumbersome when cleaning stairs.
Why is the vacuum is blowing dusty air out of the back? Simple: the bag or canister is full and the vacuum has nowhere to store the dust it is collecting. Empty the canister or bag. If that doesn`t fix it, the vacuum filter needs to be cleaned or changed.
Low suction or poor pick-up may be due to a clog in the vacuum cleaner. If you notice a change in the sound of the motor or a reduction in the spinning action, check for clogs. First, remove the Easy Empty dirt tank from the vacuum and discard all dirt and debris.
Rinse the Suction Cup in Warm Water

If you`re having trouble making suction cups stick, try submerging your suction cup in hot water. Because the heat softens the material, this is an effective trick. To get started, you`ll just need to boil a pot of water.

Miele upright not sucking up? – Miele Powerhouse Plus Bagged Upright Vacuum
ANSWER : Sounds like there is something blocking the main airway. I doubt its the filter. You may have to partially disassemble it. Maybe a hairball or something is blocking it I sucked up one of my daughters thin socks one time, had to take it apart to get it out.
.
.My vac has an access panel in the back for this. Thankfully or I would have never been able to get it out. Remove a couple of screws, look for any blockage.
.
.Unplug the machine, and go hunting. If its not in the airways, it is likely close the motor blades. You can’t mess anything up, so grab a screwdriver and have at it. Just remember to replace all screws in place when done.
.
.Hope this helps some. Good Luck!

ANSWER : This is a common fault with the Dyson DC07 (and other Dysons) unfortunately the clip that holds the handle upright hs broken. It can be repaired, but will cost a reasonable amount to have done… I would just live with the problem and prop the vacuum cleaner against a wall when not in use.

When i hit the power button on my miele carina, it doesnt lock and stay on. i have to hold down the power button for the power to stay on. Please advise

I’m trying to get my S7000 Miele to stand upright an lock in this position. It wont , i tried to see if foot release was jammed but
cant tell it doesnt seem to release to let it move upright an lock in again..help
ANSWER : There is a rear dust cover that sometimes gets stuck, this will make it almost impossible to lock the handle up. First locate the cover which is at the rear right above the wheels. It’s about 2″x8″ and ribbed vertically and slides up behind the rear panel of the lower body. If it’s in there and stuck, just realign it with the 2 grooves on each side or remove it completely; it is a dust shield after all. The best fix is to replace the rear panel and dust shield and they are ordered together and the cost is fairly low. Also check the alignment of the rear body panel at the bottom There are 2 tabs that protrude down about and inch on each side, the one closest to the handle release lever sometimes gets bent and causes the unit to jam. If this does not help there is one more solution involving the rear wheel assembly. check to see that the rear wheel axel is straight, meaning both wheels are parallel at all times while releasing the handle. If the axel is crooked, the wheel assembly must be replaced and you should have a Miele service center order the part and do it for you.
