If this happens, check if the motor protection filter and exhaust filters need to be replaced. If so, replace them and reset the indicator. To do this, turn on the vacuum and press the reset button. The service indicator light will turn off and then be reset to its original position.
If the grease or active charcoal filter of your ventilation hood(s) is saturated, the red LED indicator will light up. Your filter should then be cleaned or replaced as soon as possible.
There are three main causes for your Miele to not power on: The power switch has failed. The cord reel is damaged. Your motor has gone bad.
Check that the vacuum cleaner is plugged into a working power outlet and that fuses and breakers don`t need resetting. An activated thermal cut-out due to a blockage is the next most likely cause of the problem. Check for blockages in the hose and filters, and remove any obstructions that you find.
Durability & Warranty – If you`re looking for a vacuum cleaner with durability and longevity, look no further than Miele. Miele vacuum cleaners are designed and tested to last for 20 years. Miele vacuum cleaners come with a 7-year warranty on the motor and a 1-year warranty on parts and labor.
A damaged vacuum hose, clogged motor air filter or bad suction motor can cause the vacuum cleaner to shut off during use. A tripped overload on the vacuum suction motor can shut off the vacuum cleaner during use. If your vacuum has a reset button, push it; if the vacuum seems hot, let it cool off first.
For a cordless miele stick vacuum cleaner, a non-functioning hand control may be caused by an incorrectly fitted battery. Check that the battery is slotted into the battery compartment correctly and try the vacuum. If it doesn`t work, you may need to change to new batteries.
A strong odor from the shellac that coats the copper coil windings is an indicator that the motor is about to or has burnt out. If the motor is still running, even if it turns on and off by itself as it is heating and cooling, you can still run the motor until it gives up for good.
Overheated Motor

If your vacuum was working fine and then suddenly shut off, it may have overheated. Most vacuums are equipped with a thermal protector safety switch that won`t allow the motor to run when it becomes overheated. You will need to wait for 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on your machine, to try again.

Insert the flat end of the tool at 12 o`clock of the circular port and press into it about an inch deep at a 45 degree angle. This will release the port door. You will then see an orange pull string in the region of 11 o`clock in the port. Pull the string and it will release the door mechanism.

This month I have started the process of “resetting” each room in my house, once per week. This is done by dedicating 1–2 hours to cleaning your entire space and refreshing it for the next week to come. It is a simple concept but ultimately makes any tidying throughout the week easier.

Tried the reset button but nothing happened. Tried unplugging and re-plugging in and nothing happened. Replaced all the filters and still it wouldh’t start. So I brought it downstairs and tried one more time to get it to start. it worked! Is there something wrong with the vacuum cleaner? Was it overheat
ANSWER : It was overheated that is why it worked downstairs after cooling off.

Electrolux Epic 6500SR Full Bag sensor working, Does not Reset properly
ANSWER : The problem was a sticking switch that was not being reset. The vacuum on/off switch mechanism is comprised of two switches. One is the main switch that turns the vacuum on and off. The second is a shut off switch that gets tripped when the full bag sensor is engaged. This second switch is supposed to get reset when you push the on/off switch on the outside of the machine. The full bag shutoff switch was stiff and it, therefore, was taking a couple of presses of the on/off switch to move the shutoff switch back into the running position.

Bad Motor I have purchased two of the Kenmore direct drive beltless systems with Progressive systems. The first died after a year, the vacuum motor start making a grinding noies. I pulled the side HEPA filter and could see a fine coating of graphite like dust. Took it to a vacuum repair shop. They said the brushes were going and thus the motor was shot. I liked the vacuum and bought a second, 1 year later the motor is making a slight noise that and removing the HEPA filter I find a slight metall
ANSWER : That dust is from the carbon brushes on the motor. You may need to check them, and also clean out the motor compartment. A slight noise could be a motor bearing starting to go. Does the smell like rubber or electrical. If rubber, then the belt has stretched and needs to replaced. If electrical, then something is causing the motor to run hot, like a clogged filter, or it could be a motor going bad.

When I flip the switch on my sebo x1 upright, a red light comes to the brush and bag icons. However, I cleaned out the hose and checked to make sure there is no obstruction from the brush to the hose also, or from the hose to the bag. It is clear that juice is coming to the vacuum, but there is no sign of life except the two red lights.
ANSWER : Thanks for contacting fixya. You should pull out the bag and reset the machine. You should take all the user replaceable items. And turn it on. You will get lot of errors. Then turn the machine off. Put back all the accessories and the bag. Turn you machine on. This will solve your problem.

My Miele upright vacuum will not start. The red light will come on but not the motor. Why is that?
ANSWER : I believe you should have an amber light, if you are seeing a red light located above the bag compartment door, that indicates a fault with either the electronic module or the motor. We have the water hooked up at the back of machine. there is a spout for the water to come in and fill the ice tray.but is does not. If we turn the water on it fills up the space under the ice basket. I keep getting red light and then the two smal llight one ice and one water come on. We can hear the motor trying to fill the ice try and then lights come on. Please help me this so I can use this product. It did not come with a manual.
ANSWER : The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn’t seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
With the fill tube blocked with ice the water can drip down the back wall or drip into the ice bin or just stop up. You can use a hairdryer to thaw the tube out.

I purchased a Eureka C4910 last year and have a question that I am hoping you can answer.

There are two motor actions with this vacuum, 1) the vacuum suction, and 2) the beater bar. The action of the beater bar is that motor is supposed to automatically shut off when the handle is in the complete vertical position assuming the vacuum is stationary, but then turn on when the handle is tilted toward the floor, assuming the vacuum is moving back and forth.

The beater bar motor turn-on mechan

ANSWER : Good day!

Normally when the motor is easily moved back and forth means that it have a proper lubrication, proper alignment and no clogs.

When the motor and the belt is OK the problem could be on electrical wiring and switch.

If found electrical switch burned out you need to replaced it because when the switch is burn the contact of that switch is open even you turn it ON.that’s why the motor is not function because the voltage is not pass through the circuit because of open switch. You need to replaced it.
And check some fuses if any and other burned electrical wire.Replaced it also.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.
.
.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.
