Why Sewing Machine Hits Bobbin Case? This problem might appear after you did a cleaning on you`re sewing machine, as you worked on doing the cleaning you might have failed to put back the bobbin case in its original aligment, and this will cause the needle to hit the bobbin case and produce a “click” noise.
You could be holding the needle thread too tight. Hold the thread lightly to keep the end from going down into the shuttle. The needle could be thread incorrectly. Thread the needle eye from the front to the back.
The bobbin is wound on a pin at the top of the machine (or sometimes the side) and is then inserted either directly into the machine (drop-in) or inserted into a metal case and then inserted into a compartment underneath the needle plate (front loading).
NEEDLE PLATE/THROAT PLATE: It is a round or semi- circular steel plate, located below the needle bar. It has a hole to allow the needle to pass through reaching the shuttle to pick up the bobbin thread.
1. Push in indent (illustration 1) on hand wheel disc. This will stop the needle from moving.
The upper tension is too tight. Properly set the upper tension on your machine.
Handwheel release-stops needle movement during bobbin winding- Use it when winding the bobbin. -turns the light off and on. -carries the thread and pierces the fabric.
1) Bobbin—Provides the bottom thread, the underside of the stitches a sewing machine forms. It is useful to wind extra bobbins at once to save time later on in a project. 2) Bobbin Case—Holds the bobbin and has a specific threading pattern that provides tension to the bobbin thread.
Check your bobbin area. – Make sure the bobbin is wound evenly and has been inserted into your machine properly. – Check for scratches on the bobbin case. – Make sure that the bobbin thread is pulled completely under the pretension, to assure that the bobbin is wound evenly.
Thread-the-needle stretches the sides and backs of your shoulders, helping to ease any pain and tension you may have there. Thread-the-needle can be super relaxing as you dynamically move and twist through the stretch. It`s perfect if you want to unwind from a busy, hectic day or cool down from training.

Help Hi I have had my irobot roomba model 4000 now for 3 months now, I just LOVE it sooo much. I have used it everyday since I got it. But now it is not working. I cleaned it all out I even sprayed it with that air spray can. What happens is, It starts to go then it acts like there is something in the way and stops then goes the other way, then goes off. What is wrong? Please help!!!
ANSWER : I had the same kind of problem with my model 400 today…after starting it and having it go in a circle for 30 seconds or so it would finally run into something and then back up a few inches, turn, then go forward a few inches, then back up a few inches, turn, then go forward a few inches, etc., etc.. I tried cleaning off the four pairs of sensors under the bumper and blowing out various things underneath (by mouth since I didn’t have any canned compressed air). It didn’t really help. It then occurred to me that I had a leaf blower! I put the Roomba upside down on the grass, put the leaf blower on high, and blew at it from all directions and up close. More dust came out than I thought would. It has been running normally now for the last 45 minutes.
While using the pin stitch , the machine has started skipping stitches, knocking loudly, the top thread is breaking, sometimes thread knots up on the underneath side. I have cleaned bobbin area, changed needle and bobbin, using quality thread, the last time I used machine worked fine, yesterday when I started sewing I had this mess HELP!
I have the brother Ls-2000 sewing machine i threaded the top as well as the bobbin but when i try to sew the thread gets stuck and it bunches up and tangles in the bobbin. also the little bit that did sew was tight stitches on one side of the fabric but very loose on the other side I followed the instruction and it keeps happening i need help i dont know how to fix it please help me
ANSWER : Adjust your tension. You probably did not wind your bobbin properly as well.Make sure you oil your machine every month or so and make sure your bobbin is seated properly before you sew..
.Go slower with the pressure foot speed and use the right needle.ALWAYS test on scrap of your sewing material first!!!
.
.I have this machine for like 2 years and can do 2-5oz cowhide and buffalo leather on it (no joke, and it works FLAWLESSLY) inside it has full steel construction, just needs regular oiling compared to pro machines and easily made a few grand $$$ with it while my pro machine is getting repaired (I don’t even bother with my pro machine anymore). But you MUST oil it every month and use the RIGHT needle and adjust your tension properly .
.Also pull out the thread a good 6 inches from the needle and bobbin before dropping the pressure foot and sewing..
.Best $70 bucks (WITH TAX) I spent hell, the leather I use costs more than the machine!
Sewing machine won’t pick up bobbin thread
ANSWER : Open the bobbin case and see if the hook is turning, if it is it is just a timing problem with the hook and needle, if it isn’t tuning you may have a broken gear or timing belt…..It eill need to be looked at or adj by someone who repairs them….Daniel
It’s been years since I sewed anything and now I can’t seem to get the bobbin to thread properly, I’ve tried several ways and none work. Help please
ANSWER :

.This is a picture of typical bobbin threading. The thread should go around the bobbin and come out through the slot in the same direction…see B1. The thread goes from inside the bobbin through the slot to the outside of the bobbin case. The screw adjusts the tension on the thread as it comes out.
.
.If you mean how to thread it to wind the bobbin we’d need to know what model and brand of machine you have as they’re a bit different in how that’s done. In older machines it was often on top, sometimes towards the back of the machine towards the wheel. The thread went through several guides and it wound the bobbin only when you pushed the spool post that held the bobbin up against the wheel that caused it to turn, after releasing the hand wheel on the back so the needle wouldn’t go up and down as it wound the bobbin.
My Kenmore sewing machine timing has gotten off. I am sewing a big upholstery project and it starting bunching thread from the bobbin. The thread is so heavy that I had to put some pressure just to get it undone. This happen a few times and then I found it wasn’t sewing at all. When I evaluated without the materials in place I could see the needle would catch on the white plastic piece under the bobbin and the thread would not catch on the metal arm. It appears to be off by 1/4 – 3/8 inch.
ANSWER : Hello
Disassemble your bobbin case which is realy quite easy, clean.thoroughly with a brush and air, paying particular attention to any.rust that may have formed, and any thread that may have weazeled it’s.way into small but very incremental areas of your case.
Make sure your needle is not in backwards. The rounded side should be on the outside
. If threading is correct and your tension is properly adjusted , then check the hook for scratches. If you have ever hit the hook with a needle, it will be scarred and will catch the thread every time the upper thread passes around the bobbin case. the hook is the sharp point on the shuttle that holds the bobbin case. If it is scratched, polish it smooth with VERY fine sand paper
Make sure that your thread arm that rises and falls, constantly having tension running through it and that it is in fact staying in place.
Alternate between the metal and plastic bobbins – sometimes the plastic bobbins tend to chip
So, I was sewing along and heard a thump…kind of sounded like a louder version of what you hear when the needle hits a pin…but I wasn’t using pins. This, of course, lead to the thread jamming so I had to clear that. When rethreading I pulled out the bobbin case to make sure it was seated correctly and found a kind of “v” shaped piece of wire (about the width of a paper clip I guess) sitting loose under the bobbin case. I took it out and threw it away. Still can’t pull up the bobbin threa
ANSWER : That part was the hook end of the spring that was supposed to put tension on the bobbin – it will have to be replaced. This is a special flat spring that unfortunately only a repair shop of a dealer has it – you will have to take your machine to one. Sorry, this isn’t something you can fix yourself. In the mean time do not attempt to use the machine , the needle arm will be damaged.
