Press the reset switch, using a pen, and try cleaning with the Power Brush. If you`ve tried to reset the Power Brush multiple times, and it still does not turn on, the Power Brush will need to be replaced. If your vacuum does not have a removable Power Brush, visit our Support Center to request service.
The brush roll or its bearings may be clogged with hair, threads or dirt. Make sure they are clean and the roll spins. The belt may also have slipped because it was loose. Check the fit of the new belt when it is installed.
Rinse the filter
Any fine dust remaining in the filter can usually be removed with a gentle rinse under a cold tap – hold the filter under the running water until the water runs clear. You shouldn`t need to use any detergent – just water.
If the filter isn`t clean, it can impact the performance of the vacuum. Dirty vacuum filters can restrict airflow so the suction won`t be as strong.
Clear the brush roll of any hair and debris and inspect by placing it on its end and spin. The brush should spin freely. If it doesn`t spin; it may be time to replace.
Inspecting the Vacuum Commutator for Motor Brush Problems
Test that by turning the motor off and pushing on the center shaft, the armature. If it has any play, besides spinning, then replace the motor. If solid then replace the brushes – motor brush replacement instructions.
After a year or so, you may need to replace your vacuum`s beater brush. If the bristles seem to be squished, broken or are varying heights, it`s time to replace the brush. These can be found online with the vacuum`s brand and model of your vacuum cleaner.
If the spinning brush of your JetStick won`t spin, make sure it`s clean, and then try restarting it a couple times. If it still won`t start, it probably overheated, and should work again after 30 minutes.
If your vacuum`s brush bar is not turning, the bar may be clogged from hair and other debris. Ensure that the brushbar button, which is gray and located next to the power button, is turned on. If this is not the issue, then the brushbar itself may be damaged or stuck.

When vacuuming carpet with the electric power brush it will ocassionly , go to zero suction mode and shut off the brush. I have tried to cause it to happen by playing with the joint areas ( handle to tube and tube to power brush) without sucess.
When the problem does occur I just turn the suction back on and power up the brush again at the handle controls.
ANSWER : You gave a good start to giving us good information to help you with solving this problem– But I need a little more information:
It sounds like you have the Electric Motor driven Power nozzle/ Floor attachment– am I correct? (Not the type that has a little vacuum motor down at the floor attachment– Not one that depends upon air flowing thru the unit to power the brush, — am I correct?)
You can control the motor with a switch at the handle– correct?
So here is the question: – when you say “the electric power brush — goes to zero suction” — what tells you that it ‘went to zero suction’?– the little red flag on the vacuum?– or what?
I am suspecting something might be caught up in the floor wand– or at the power nozzle itself– or even in the flexible hose. Do you know how to take the hose off, and place the hand-held end, in the opening in the Miele Vacuum? Can you do that, and clear out the hose first– and then the hose with the want connected?
If they are all clear– we may need to open the floor plate on the floor nozzle, and check for something caught in the air passageway–

I have a roomba 530 pet series. It appears that the brushes aren’t turning. They are free of dirt and debris and move easily when manually turned. But, You can tell there may not be a motor turning, because the roomba is more quiet than normal when you turn it on. Also, the hair just collects along the bottom of the brush and doesn’t get pushed into the bin.
