Overheated Motor

If your vacuum was working fine and then suddenly shut off, it may have overheated. Most vacuums are equipped with a thermal protector safety switch that won`t allow the motor to run when it becomes overheated. You will need to wait for 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on your machine, to try again.

If your vacuum cleaner keeps turning off, this could be due to the following reasons: Blockages – check the hose and head for any obstructions. Filter – always check your filters, if these are clogged this could be causing the vacuum cleaner to work harder and lose suction power.
If your RoboVac has been used for more than one year, it may be time to replace the battery. Replacing the battery usually fixes this specific issue. You can purchase a new battery to replace the existing battery.
A few things you can check to try and solve:

Turn off the vacuum cleaner – then check if the nozzle, tube, hose or filters are blocked and/or dirty. Let the product cool down for a minimum of 2 hours on the charging stand before starting it again (stick vacuum cleaners only)

If your Roomba® i Series Robot Vacuum is not turning on or is not able to charge, rebooting your robot tends to solve most related issues. To reboot your Roomba: Press and hold the CLEAN button for 20 seconds. After you release the button, the light ring will show a white clockwise swirl while it reboots.
A strong odor from the shellac that coats the copper coil windings is an indicator that the motor is about to or has burnt out. If the motor is still running, even if it turns on and off by itself as it is heating and cooling, you can still run the motor until it gives up for good.
If there is something that has become caught in the hose in another part of the system, the airflow will be reduced and can cause overheating and a shut down. Clear out hoses, attachments, and brushes of any hair, dirt, and debris. This will allow for restored airflow and should get things going again.
Most owners believe that running their robot vacuums four times per week is sufficient to keep the floors dust-free. However, if you have children or pets, you should use your robot vacuum more frequently. Daily vacuuming is recommended if you suffer from seasonal allergies.
On average, a well-maintained robotic vacuum cleaner can last up to 4-6 years, but some models may last even longer.

e Series Robots: Press and Hold the Home and Spot Clean and CLEAN button down for 20 seconds then release. 900 Series Robots: Press and Hold the Dock and Spot Clean and CLEAN button down until all LEDs illuminate.

Keep your robot plugged in and charging on the Home Base® or Clean Base™ when not in use. If your robot will not be used for more than a few weeks, we recommend placing the robot in ship mode. and storing it in a cool, dry place.
A thermal cut off is a heat-sensitive device that automatically disconnects the power to a vacuum`s motor when the operating temperature exceeds a safe value.

My Singer Izek sewing machine starts and stops and wont sew continuously. When I push down the pedal it sews about 2 inches then stops and light starts flashing, I have to let off of the pedal and push it again, over and over. It did this once before for awhile and then just started sewing right for awhile and now its started it again. I’ve checked everything.
ANSWER : If it’s not the thread and not the pedal then it’s definitely a power problem. You need to replace the power cable and then check again the functionality.

I have an easy flo vacuum model # 199C and it won’t shut off. It started out as an intermitent problem but now will not shut off when the hose is unplugged, nor when the off/on switch on the main unit is shut off. the only way to get the motor to stop running is to unplug the unit. Any ideas?
ANSWER : Just had this same problem. I unplugged the low voltage signal wires and the vacuum stayed on. Thus eliminating the possibility of the signal wires shorting out somewhere. I’m not really sure which wire(s) were causing the problem. But when I disassembled the top housing to expose the motor and wiring it seemed to work just fine. My theory is that the heat of the motor caused the insulation on a wire to melt which was then shorting somewhere inside the housing. I suggest removing the motor housing before buying any parts or calling easy-flo. If you’re lucky like me then your vacuum should be running again in a matter of minutes.

Problem starting Sometimes will not start at all. Sometimes will do a quick start and stop. Other times it starts and runs fine????
ANSWER : This can happen if you have an intermittent short in your cord. Try plugging it in and then wiggling the cord around where it goes into the body of the vacuum with the switch set to “on.” (If you’re not sure whether it’s on or off, just click it back and forth occasionally.)
.If the motor kicks on there’s a short, which usually requires a cord replacement. If that’s the case, it’s a relatively simple fix for most dyson models.
.If not, you could have a short in your switch or somewhere else in the electrical system of the machine.

I checked the belt and it has not broken, but when I start to vaccum the spinning head stops, and I start to smell a rubber smell…Do you think I need to replace the belt, I did get some string caught in it the last time I vaccummed, and it did stink like rubber then also…
ANSWER : Yes you do need to replace the belt they stretch out. Think of a belt like a big rubber band if you were to stretch it out and hold a lighter to it the rubber band would stay stretched out. That is the same thing that happens when you get it caught on string or an area rug the brush stops but the little metal shaft keeps spinning creating heat and stretching the belt. Fully charged, filters cleaned, vacuum keeps shutting down in and then starts again only to shut off again. the 6 minute time limit is not used up.
ANSWER : Your battery is losing voltage too quick. It has probably developed a .’memory’. Dyson claims that their handheld has the best suction out of .all the handhelds out there. In order to maintain that claim the circuit. board will shut off power to the motor when the voltage drops below .adequate charge for full suction.
.We need someone who can teach us to bypass that part of the circuit so .it won’t cut power to the motor or you need to get a new battery.
.Shorting the battery like an Aircraft battery then re-charging won’t fix it.
