How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

You`ll need it—the filter prevents dust from blowing out of the top while you`re cleaning. For wet surfaces, however, you`ll need to remove the filter entirely. Liquids will damage filters, and you could even potentially ruin your vacuum if you suck up water before removing the filter.
STEP 1: Remove the bag and filter from the vacuum.

If your model has a bag, you need to remove it before using your shop vac for water. If you don`t, it will fill up with liquid and rip, making a nasty mess in the canister.

As the name suggests, a wet & dry vacuum sucks up heavy, solid dirt or debris as well as liquid messes or sludge. These are significantly more powerful than standard vacuum cleaners, and have a separate motor from its airflow.
Vac with a cartridge filter or reusable dry filter: If you are picking up large to medium size debris, you do not need to use a collection bag. If you are picking up fine debris, you need to add a high efficiency filter bag or HEPA collection bag to trap the fine dust.
A: The best filter to use for wet pick up is a foam sleeve. When picking up water containing debris; such as, glass, stone, etc., you may want to consider adding a tear resistant wet dry collection bag.
Let the filter dry completely — give it about 24 hours — before putting it back in the vacuum. Never dry the filter in the microwave or a clothes dryer.
To clean a foam filter, submerge it in water, squeeze it to allow the dirt to escape the foam, and allow it to air dry before putting it back in your vacuum. If you want the room to smell really nice next time you`re vacuuming, add a few drops of essential oil to the foam.
Ideally, you should store your vacuum in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or extreme temperature fluctuations. Additionally, make sure there is enough space around the vacuum to prevent it from getting knocked over or bumped into other items, which can cause damage.
Start on the far edge of your carpet or rug and push the vacuum forward in a straight line. This movement lifts the nap (or fibers) of the floor covering to reveal any dirt or debris hidden underneath. Then pull the machine back slowly toward you to collect all that debris.
They are majorly used to remove dirt and dust from upholstery, carpets, velveteen furniture and floors made of hardwood and many varieties of floors, including laminated floors. They are also used to clean cars and stairs.
Wet/dry vacuums range in capacity from 1 gallon up to 20 gallons, with most vacuums in the 4- to 10-gallon capacity range. A few inches of water in a tub or water spread out across a wide area will quickly fill up smaller vacuums.
A little sturdier than your average vacuum cleaner, Wet/Dry machines can be used for a broader range of tasks, both inside and outside your home.

A dry vacuum system does not use water to generate suction. A wet vacuum needs significant water flow to generate suction.

ANSWER : .Vacuuming Liquids
.1. When picking up small amounts of liquid
.the filter may be left in place.
.2. When picking up large amounts of liquid
.we recommend that the filter be
.removed. If the filter is not removed, it
.will become saturated and misting
.may appear in the exhaust.
.3. After using the vac to pick up liquids,
.the filter must be dried to reduce the
.risk of possible mildew and damage to
.the filter.
.4. When the liquid in the drum reaches a
.predetermined level, the float mechanism
.will rise automatically to cut off
.airflow. When this happens, turn off

Turbine Hi I found out through your site that my turbin is bad on my steam vac and I found some information as well on how to disasemble the steam vac to get to the turbine but still was wondering if there were some more detailed instructions on how to remove the turbin. I am a sigle mom and doing the work on the steam vac myself and need a little more detailed instructions. Please help asap and have a bless day.
ANSWER : There are some screws on the bottom that have to come out so you can remove the top housing. Take the brush block out, there are 2 screws above where it sits. The turbine sits near the front, and in the mid section, 2 screws on the front of it and 2 long screws from underneath, if you already haven’t removed them. Unhook the hoses to it thenpick it out and replace with the new one. ( Some models near the back of the housing, is a catch on each side that you have to unhook to release the top).
