After use, unplug your steam mop and let it cool before removing the Dirt Grip pads. Empty the water tank before storing. Wait until it has fully cooled and all the steam has been released. Machine wash your Dirt Grip pads separately, with warm water, using liquid detergent.
Per the users manual use plain water only, distilled water is recommended if you have very hard water. No cleaning solutions should be added.
Check if the mop is properly plugged into the outlet and turned on. If it is on and still not functioning, try resetting the mop by plugging it into a different outlet. Add water to the tank if it is empty then try selecting the `STEAM` setting once more.
Fill the Tank With Vinegar: Fill the water tank with distilled white vinegar or cleaning vinegar. Allow the vinegar to sit in the tank for at least 30 minutes (up to two hours is best) to help break apart the limescale and mineral deposits.
How Often to Change Steam Mop Pads. You`ll need to swap out your steam mop pad after every use in order to clean the used one. Then replace your steam mop pads every 3–4 months – but if they wear out sooner, don`t wait!
What Should I Use? Good quality tap water. If you don`t have issues with hard water stains and buildup, your tap water is good.

First, attach the mop pad to the mophead, then fill the reservoir with water using the filling flask. Once the steam mop is plugged in, it takes about 20 seconds for the steam to build up, and you`ll hear the mop hissing. During the first use, I found that I had to pump the handle a few times to prime the steam pump.
The Shark Pocket steam mop cleans through one main method; steam being pressed out through the cleaning pad. The cleaning process is quite simple: Fill water tank with distilled water. Plug the unit in and give it 30 seconds to heat up.
Except when you are descaling a steam mop, do NOT put anything other than water in the tank. Not only does this defeat the primary purpose of steam cleaning (in avoiding chemical cleaners), but you can possibly damage your steam cleaner. For many steamers, you may also be voiding your warranty in the process.
Not Plugged In You will notice a blinking blue light on the front of the device when plugged in correctly. If the light fails to come on then try to plug into a different outlet.

Shark Steam Mop – Gray/ Purple Vacuum: shark steam mop has water, but there is no steam….
ANSWER : I tried running vinegar through as you would a coffee pot to get rid of hard water scales. This did not work. Then I noticed that the light behind the shark decal on the front of the machine was going off and on. And sure enough as I moved the cord around the light would come off and on. Looking closer I could see the the heat had melted thru some of the cord.I bought mine at Target before xmas last year, throwing away the sales slip after several months so I guess there is nothing I can do about it.
I have a Bissell Proheat 2XTurbo carpet cleaner. No water will come out when I squeeze the trigger. I have filled the solution tank and the water tank. Need instructions how to use Hoover Steam Vac Spin Scrub. I borrowed it from my Sister and she left it with no instruction book or letting me know how to operate it. I put water & cleaner in top tank. That’s all I know to do. Do I put any water in bottom tank? I figured not, since that is probably where the water goes when sucked up by vac. Do I leave lid on bottom tank? I usually use a commercial cleaner, and this is very different. I need to know NOW, as I must return it to her today, and I’m

I loved my Shark Steam Pocket Mop, but it suddenly stopped producing steam through the mop heads. The water is heating and I can see and hear steam coming out of the actually body of the mop, but it will not go through to the head. I have thought of running white vinegar through it. Do you have any suggestions?

Need shark steam mop replacement water tank cap
The Hoover Steamvac Widepath will NOT pick up water. The dispenser with cleaner DOES have water. The TANK that would receive the dirty water is NOT full. All tanks are on properly and the machine will still not pick up the used water. I found a tear in the interior hose leading to the receiving tank and repaired throughly with electrical tape. Still will not pick up the water. Any suggestions?
ANSWER : Sounds like a clogged air path (no vacuum action) from the floor pick-up to the collection tank. Take the tanks off and deal with the vacuum problem alone. The collection tank should have a air exit vent–is it clear? Check the interior hose that you repaired–is it clogged? Remove the bottom plate and inspect the air path from it. Because this machine deals with water, clogs can become like concrete! Hope this helps!
