There could be several factors as to why your BISSELL PowerFresh steam mop is not producing steam. First, check to make sure the unit is plugged in and is in a working outlet. Next, check to make sure there is water in the tank. It is very important to make sure you are ONLY using water to fill the tank.
The steam cleaner requires little in the way of setup and only takes about a minute to get started. While the steam will kick on after 30 seconds, it takes a full 60 seconds for it to become powerful. Because the water tank is so small—just 6.6 ounces—we found ourselves being economical with the power button.
Plug machine into an outlet. Push the trigger on the handle to release steam. Attach Mop Pad by wrapping around bottom of foot, making sure gray stitching is located on the front of foot and the quick grip release tab is located on the back. Step on the back of the foot to recline the body of machine to begin cleaning.
Easy-to-fill water tank holds 6.6 fl. oz. of water that`s easy to measure with the included water cup.
There is condensation in the stand steamer`s hose

To solve this, lift your stand steamer`s head to straighten the hose vertically and hold your steamer in an upright position: This will allow any condensation and steam to flow again. After this, your stand steamer should steam again.

Heating Element. A common cause to your cleaner not producing steam can be a failed heating element. As the heater is used to heat up the water, if that has ruptured or burnt out your steam cleaner will not produce any steam. With the water tank filled and switched on the steamer should sound like a boiling kettle.
To power ON your vacuum, step on the red Power Switch Pedal on the back of the vacuum by the foot. If there`s still no power, unplug your machine from the wall and check the entire length of the power cord for damage. If it`s damaged, discontinue use and contact us or visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center.

Fill the water tank on your steam cleaner, and allow time to heat-up time. Your cleaner may have an indicator light to let you know when it`s ready, or you may just have to wait a few minutes.
Look for a machine with a quick warm-up time; some produce steam in just 30 seconds, while others take 3 minutes or more. Handheld units provide around 10 minutes of cleaning time before needing a water refill. Larger canister versions can last up to 45 minutes but are harder to maneuver.
BISSELL steam cleaners, like PowerFresh® Deluxe can heat up in as little as 30 seconds and only require you to fill up the tank with water (there`s no formula to mix)! *Using the microfiber pad on hard floors, use as instructed.
We recommend using distilled or demineralized water in place of tap water. Do not use any chemicals in the water tank.

We are VERY disappointed in our Steam mop. After only using twice in one year and following all the instructions, went to use it yesterday, Oct. 7th and could not get any steam out? It started up and it felt like it was heated, but no steam therefore could not clean our floors?
ANSWER : Unfortunately they do not work well at all but if it means anything to you your not alone. Many people have complained about the same issue. To be quite honest there really is nothing better than very hot water in a bucket with a bit of cleaning solution and just be sure to squeeze out the mop well before you put it on the floor. It does not need to be sopping wet. Steam, is just water anyways and you can get steaming hot water from your tap in the house bso really its no different.I hope you kept the receipt so you can return it. I hope I didn’t ruin your day and if this did help be sure to remember to click on the yes bow on your way out . Thanks again and good luck.
