Only a BEAM Central Vacuum System in your home is clinically proven to improve the indoor air quality by up to 52%.
They need power to be transmitted to the vacuum to create a suction force that lifts debris. So, the usual areas that cause suction loss include the wrong height setting, stuck rollers, a faulty gasket, a broken vacuum belt, a filled bag, or a clogged hose.
Central vacuum motors generally last for 800-1100 working hours.
Dependability and Durability – Beam Central Vacuums are dependable and durable and typically last 25 to 30 years before needing replacement.
Power Usage

The amount of power used by a central vacuum system is roughly the same as that of a portable vacuum cleaner. Yet, it has 3 to 5 times the power of a portable vacuum cleaner. You are getting more suction power, which translates into more efficient cleaning, at no extra energy usage.

Typically, they have about three to five times more suction power than conventional vacuum units. You don`t have to drag the main vacuuming unit around with you. The most you`d have to carry with a central vacuum is a hose and a few light accessories. Central vacuums make for healthier indoor air quality.
Troubleshooting your vacuum cleaner`s loss of suction

The filters can become clogged over weeks of use, reducing the vacuum cleaner`s suction. You should clean the filters periodically following the manufacturer`s instructions, but a significantly soiled filter should be replaced with a new one for optimal operation.

The average life expectancy of a mid-range vacuum cleaner is about six years. You can fix or replace things like blocked filters, jammed brush rolls, frayed hoses, worn-out stick vac batteries and broken accessories yourself.
Some vacuums come with an indicator light that lets you know when the bag is full. However, if any of the above is true – the suction power is low, you notice a foul smell, you`ve used your vacuum frequently for more than a month, or you`ve just vacuumed dusty materials – it`s best to change the vacuum bag.
Beam`s patented GORE-TEX, HEPA standard filter is self-cleaning, but still requires maintenance as sharp particles can still damage the GORE fabric.
Depending on how often you use the appliance, central vacuum canisters need emptying every three to six months, but you may need to check it more frequently. The first thing you should do when you notice that your vacuum is losing suction is to check the canister and filter.
every 3 months is the average for most users on when that should be done. Some filters need to be replaced. heavy use every 6 months, pet owners every year, and light use every 2-3 years is recommended.
Central vacuum systems are designed to remove all the dirt and debris from your house and send it through tubing located in the walls to a receptacle in an out-of-the-way location like a garage or basement.
A commercial, or industrial vacuum, will have much more suction force. It will be more durable which means that it will be able to handle the debris and volume that is commonly found among these types of properties.
This usually happens either in the pipes, vacuum head, or hose. Here are a few basics steps to unclog central vacuum system pipes: Determine the general location of the clog. You can do this by identifying which low performing inlet is closest to the main vacuum in the garage or basement.
To clean the hose, run a cleaning cloth through it when the central vacuum is turned on. Then repeat this at each outlet to make sure the entire system gets cleaned. Cleaning cloths should be available through your local central vacuum dealer. Even if you don`t see any clogging, it`s good practice to clean the hoses.
Your filters get clogged with bacteria, dust, smoke, mold, and other particles. These can all affect the air quality in your home as well as the performance of your vacuum`s cleaning abilities, if the filter is clogged you will find the suction and general performance of your vacuum will be minimized.
The most common problems found in vacuum cleaners are low suction force, excessive noise, burning smell, vacuum not turn on, and overheating. These issues can be fixed by either cleaning the device or replacing some parts of the device. At times, it is best to seek a professional to fix the cleaner effectively.
The most common reason for vacuum motors failing is overheating. Most `dry` vacuums have a flow-though motor. These motors use the air they have sucked up the dust with, to cool themselves. When there is a blockage, flow-though motors are unable to cool themselves due to the lack of airflow.
Check that the vacuum cleaner is plugged into a working power outlet and that fuses and breakers don`t need resetting. An activated thermal cut-out due to a blockage is the next most likely cause of the problem. Check for blockages in the hose and filters, and remove any obstructions that you find.
There are varying degrees of quality and value when it comes to vacuums; if you paid a lot for the appliance, repairs are likely worth it, but we recommend that you don`t spend more than half of the original price for any repairs.
A vacuum cleaner can run continuously for 30 – 60 min each time. The vacuum cleaner has no suction power. For example, a hair cannot be sucked up.
As a general rule, if the repair is going to cost less than half the cost of a new vacuum cleaner, it`s best to go ahead and get it repaired. When the service tops half the price of a new machine, it`s probably best to invest in a newer model.
The filter should be replaced at least once a year, but you should check the filters every time you have the system inspected.

Hi I need help because I have a problem with my Electrolux Centralux Central Vac system in my house. When I plug the vac hose in the central vac socket at first I heard the motor running very gently with NO suction then after a minute or so it went completely dead and they is NO motor sound, suction, or anything happening what so ever. Can anyone tell me what this problem is???
ANSWER : Have you checked for a clog in the lines or in the hose? If there is no clog in the system anywhere, then your motor could be dying.

Central vac our central vac will not work unless the main vac in the garage is switched on manualy…. its sucking fine but i have to switch it off at the main switch in the garage after i have used it normaly i just plug in the hose and vac away and it switches itself off we have just had cable installed with a fisher guy in the walls do you think that would be the problem thanks a lot
ANSWER : It is possible that the low voltage wiring that controls your central vacuum has been damaged during the cable work. You can check to see if the low voltage relay is working by shorting the two terminals together at the unit. Just disconnect the two small (18-22 gauge) wires from the unit and short across the terminals where the wires connect. If the unit comes on, the vacuum is fine, and it is most likely the low voltage control wires that have been damaged. It should be a pretty easy fix, if you can get to where the wires are located. They are probably just pulled apart at a joint. Good Luck!!

No suction I am getting no suction on my central vac at the vac. I do not believe that the piping is plugged up, the vacuum is not creating suction. What are the causes of no suction at the vacuum and how do I take the top half of the Nutone central vac off?
ANSWER : Use the guide at to find the issue and solution. Most likely you need to test it without any filter and be sure the bottom of the unit is attached 🙂 To get access to the motors you need to unbolt the very top sides.

ANSWER : How to install a new circuit board?

Central Vac will not turn on.
ANSWER : These problems are nearly exclusively caused by a bad circut board and replacing it is the fix. Bad boards can cause many different effects so its nearly impossible to be sure. The 9v signal wire is not enough to short out an entire unit so it is unlikely the hose. If it is a direct connect system and you are pulling power from the 110 somehow that would cause main unit problems but that is unlikely at best. Sounds like a failed board to me.
.Best of Luck
