Your carpet will be only slightly damp to the touch after your cleaning. Most carpets typically need 6-10 hours to dry completely. However, it could take up to 24 hours to dry depending on the time of year your carpets are cleaned, and the air circulation, humidity and temperature in your home.
Yes, steam cleaners can clean carpets. It does so utilizing steam from the hot water inside its reservoir. You`ll need a machine with a nozzle (with a brush) and a tube to use it on carpets. Also, look for a model with a microfiber attachment to apply steam evenly.
A steam cleaner uses hot water vapor and a cleaning solution to displace and extract dirt, dust, and tough stains on your carpet. A vacuum uses an electric motor to suck dirt, dust, and hair from your carpet and hard-surface floors.
How long does it take carpets and upholstery to dry after carpet cleaning? On the average, it will take approximately 2-4 hours for carpet and upholstery to dry after being carpet cleaned. To expedite the drying process, you will want to use a fan and increase your air circulation.
Naturally, all carpet cleaners will leave some moisture, which will dry out in the hours following the cleaning process. However, if the carpet remains wet long after cleaning, it`s because the final step of that process was insufficient.
Yes, you should keep cleaning the carpet until the water is clear. This will ensure that your carpets are clean and free of dirt, dust, and other allergens. However, you should be careful not to scrub too hard or use too much water. Doing so can damage the carpet and lead to more stains in the future.
Hot water loosens and softens dirt more quickly, making it easier to remove, and it also helps to kill bacteria. That`s why we recommend filling up your carpet cleaner`s tank with warm water. Some BISSELL Carpet Cleaners also use HeatWave technology to keep the water hot throughout the cleaning process.

Vacuuming carpets every day is OK. Some households might not need to vacuum as frequently. Still, it depends on the living arrangements, the carpet`s traffic daily, and the possibility of pets and kids treading the carpets. With the appropriate vacuum, you won`t damage your rugs.
Anything with fabric or upholstery needs frequent vacuuming. Dust settles deep into the fibers, holding onto pollutants, bacteria, and unwanted smells. Plan to vacuum carpet and area rugs at least twice per week, even if they don`t look dirty.
Drying Wet Carpet. A first common step to drying carpet is using a wet-dry vacuum to remove as much water as possible. Remember to empty the wet tank before use and remove any dry dust bags if possible. Most wet-dry vacuums will indicate when they`re full and need to be empty again.
Because steam cleaning uses high temperatures, it actually destroys bacteria, viruses, and allergens, which makes it a much more effective cleaning method than others that provide only superficial aesthetic benefits.
If we have to give an average time, that would be 30 minutes per single room. An hour is usually the time an experienced carpet cleaning technician needs to tackle two rooms. It is possible for this time to be extended to 80 minutes when additional house areas are included, for instance, carpeted stairs or a hallway.

My carpet cleaner (bissell proheat plus) is not steaming, dispensing cleaner. Seems like there’s a little thingy that should be spinning or turning….. When I work a small area of carpet, it just leaves behind dry blobs of carpet gunk like pet hair. I had to use a carpet sweeper to clean up. FYI – I filled the cleaning fluid container and after trying to clean the carpet, it did empty out but the carpet isn’t wet. Any tips? The manual doesn’t help.
ANSWER : You need to replace the pump belt. Here is the belt you need:

We have a Bissell Proheat Cleanshot 2X Model 9500 Steam carpet cleaner. The first time we used it things were great. The second time we used it it left tracks in the carpet. We have no idea what caused this. We tried using the machine on an entirely different carpet and it did the same thing. After vacuuming the carpet about 10 or 12 times, the tracks are still embedded in the carpet – HELP!!!! We’re read and reread the manual and contacted customer service and received no help.
ANSWER : First things first. It’s only the second time you have used the machine, so it must be fairly new. If you have a receipt and the unit is less than a year old you should take it to an authorized Bissell repair center and have the machine inspected under warranty.

.Otherwise, The jets on this unit clog easily, there are two of them and you can locate them under the recovery tank towards the front of the machine, and blow them out with an air compressor. To prevent the jets from clogging in the future make sure to flush all shampoo out of the machine with clean water when done using it. That is most likely your problem.
.
.If it is leaving black streaks on your carpet it could be coming from a burnt belt or melted brushroller part, in which case inspect the belts and brushrollers and replace the damaged pieces.

I have a Bissell Pro 2x carpet cleaner. The water heats properly as well as spraying the cleaning product. However, when I go to suction the water from the carpets, the 2 in 1 water tank bladder works properly but there is no dirty water outside the bladder. I have only used this carpet cleaner ~ 5 times and in the beginning I had to empty the suctioned water quite frequently as it was dirty and it could not not hold any more water. So I have done 1 room and all the dirt remains in the carpet
ANSWER : Check that the suction cone is not blocked. Check that the filter or hose to the bladder isn’t blocked as well.

Carpet stained recently cleaned my cream coloured carpet in my entrance hall with a carpet cleaning product, wet foamy spray type, ran out of this and found a part bottle of a different brand in my cupboard, used this to finish off however must be some sort of reaction and carpet gone a greenish colour i think (colour blind sorry ) any idea’s of any product that might restore my carpet, will try anything, nothing to loose. thank you Peter McGurk Goole East Yorks
ANSWER : Ok in the future try to have carpet cleaned only by a pro. For spot cleaning use white paper towels or dish towels and warm water. (ONLY WHITE) 99% of fabric is white and then dyed to color and if you use a color cloth you might pull the dye from the cloth into the carpet. Now what you can try is your basic dishwashing detergent like electrosal with warm water and a dishtowel. little at a time try to blot not rub. try AFTA if that doesnt work. wet the rag first with warm water. pour the afta on the wet rag not on the carpet.

Bissel deep carpet steam cleaner not pulling water out of carpet
ANSWER : How can i make the water come out

Bissell carpet cleaner won’t spray water or cleaner
ANSWER : If I may! In most cases the heater is clogged. It might be clogged with soap that has harden over time. You need to take the handle apart. You will see a metal box(thats the heater) besides the wires there are two tubes connected to the heater. remove the tubes but label or watch which tube goes where. now turn the heater upside down. there are 6 screws on the side and 1 in the middle. remove them carefully. the 6 on the side have a small gaskets under them..you don’t want to lose them. the 1 in the middle has no gasket, now the bottom plate of the heater can be taken off (there is a gasket with that plate …be careful . you will now see the long channels inside the heater and need to clean it. the holes where the tubes where connected have to be clean also but carefully. the metal is soft.so it bends. now put it all back. hope this helps. if you want to keep this from happening.the best way is to run clear water after you are done.this will remove any soap in the machine which will harden after the machine drys out. hope I helped .

and to mr. reddevil6 I am learning lots from you. Thanks

I have a Bissell Pro Heat 2X carpet cleaner and the brushes spin, then stop. I turn it off and when I re-start, the brushes do not spin until I push foreward. The it spins and stops again. Both belts are tight. The brushes spin if held above the carpet, but upon contact with carpet it stops. Same thing on a hard surface.
ANSWER : The reason for the brushes to stop when it is above any surface is there is a switch in the handle that stops the brushes so it dont burn your motor up it may have a faulty switch.

Carpet cleaner were can i go to service this bissell carpet cleaner
ANSWER : Bissell website had this link in the faq pages——-

To get your machine functioning properly, please make sure the power cord is plugged into a working outlet. Check the inner and outer circular filters and the post-motor filter for debris. Also, check the upper-tank louvers, this can be removed and rinsed. Reduced air-flow from the dirty filters or from clogs in the hose will put greater stress on the motor, increasing the possibility for overheating.

If you continue to experience no power, please take your machine to a local BISSELL Authorized Service Center. To locate your nearest BISSELL Authorized Service Center, go to the BISSELL Homepage at: http://www.bissell.com. Select the “Customer Service” tab at the top of the page and then select “Service Centers” from the drop down menu. Enter your zip code to perform your search.

You can also locate a Service Center by phone, 24 hours a day, by calling 1-800-237-7691 and choosing option #1.

I hope this helps
