I have an easy flo vacuum model # 199C and it won’t shut off. It started out as an intermitent problem but now will not shut off when the hose is unplugged, nor when the off/on switch on the main unit is shut off. the only way to get the motor to stop running is to unplug the unit. Any ideas?
ANSWER : Just had this same problem. I unplugged the low voltage signal wires and the vacuum stayed on. Thus eliminating the possibility of the signal wires shorting out somewhere. I’m not really sure which wire(s) were causing the problem. But when I disassembled the top housing to expose the motor and wiring it seemed to work just fine. My theory is that the heat of the motor caused the insulation on a wire to melt which was then shorting somewhere inside the housing. I suggest removing the motor housing before buying any parts or calling easy-flo. If you’re lucky like me then your vacuum should be running again in a matter of minutes.

Hello, I have a problem with my Eureka Powerline bagged upright vacuum. It has a 12 amp motor and is model #4352, Type D. It was probably bought new in 1998. My problem is, while vacuuming today the motor seemed to slow down all of the sudden and then began smelling like burning rubber. I shut the vacuum off to check for blockages but could not find anything blocked. When I then turned it on again it runs but seems to only be running at 1/2 the motor speed and still has the rubber buring smell.
ANSWER : It sounds like a rubber sealing in the motor has come loose and is being constantly rubbed against the walls of the motor with would cause the smell and loss of motor speed caused by the fricton of rubber against the rod so if you can get to the motor try to open it and see if you can get it if not take it to a small engine repair service hope this was helpful:)

Hoover S3765 I have a Hoover S3765 (serial # 040600024465) and the unit stops working for no apparent reason. The light on top of the unit goes off when it shuts down, so I don't believe it's a problem between the hose, the tube and the floor unit. Sometimes I have to let it sit for over one hour before it will come back on. I've tried different electrical plugs too. Still won't turn on. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks

ANSWER : If you light and nozzle motor both go off at the same time, you might have a bad power cord. Mine had this problem which I could verify by jiggling/twisting the cord near the strain relief on the nozzle. It would go on and off as I did this. The cord is cheap to replace, around $13 for the part shipped. Part number is 59134072.

The belt on my vacuum cleaner model 6596 bissel powerforce bagless turbo keeps breaking. As soon as I put on a new belt and start it up the belt snaps. It is the durabelt meant for this vacuum model. Also, my son has been having the same problem with his. He has the same model and same belt. This problem is occurring even after a thourough cleaning.
ANSWER : I would guess you aren’t centering the belt correctly, thus it’s edge is caught between the brush and another solid object, causing the breakage.
.When you get the belt on the the brush and the brush back in place, turn the brush a few times by hand to make sure it’s not catching on anything. After you get the powerhead put back together, do this again. It’s a common problem if the powerhead isn’t assembled correctly.
.
.Here’s a video clip from the Bissell site demonstrating changing the belt.

Vaccuum issue I just bought a Eureka upright model 5892 BVZ, my concern is, I bought it on sale (floor model) and it didn’t have a manual with it. I took it home and tried it, and although it appears to be working very well there is not dirt in the catch bin on the front of the unit. I tried the hose w/attachment and again it worked very well in picking up the cat hair, but where does the hair and the dirt go, I am afraid it is spitting it back out somewhere since I can not see anything in the c
ANSWER : If the dirt being vacuumed is not going into the dirt cup, then it must be just stuck in the hose and evenually will clog up. Check the hose and see it there is a clog in it, otherwise you have a years warranty on a new vacuum, take it into a warranty shop and have it checked out, take proof of purchase with you.
