Hoover U6437-900 / U6439-900 Windtunnel Bagged Upright Vacuum\015 How do you remove the top cover from this model? Have to replace the actuator arm and cable (both broken) and don’t want to damage anything else. I can see 1 tab on suction tube side and a couple of screws, but so far don’t want to force anything including the slider knobs for the height adjustment and brush on/off. Thanks\015

Agitator belt failed in my Hoover F5853-900 Steam Vacuum Cleaner. But can not remove bottom Cover .. have removed top cover and two screws from the bottom Cover. The smaller Cover is glued to the large Bottom Cover. Need help.
ANSWER : Hello,

Unscrew the plate. check if there is any screws at the bottom, if none, exact little pressure to pull out the bottom cover. At this .point you should be able to see the broken drive belt along with the two. drive bars. Remove any debris from the vacuum head. Untangle any long threads .wrapped around the beater bar. These only put more strain on a drive .belt, so keep this area of your vacuum clean..Slip the new drive belt on the beater bar. Connect it with the drive .shaft. You may need to use the screwdriver to stretch the belt enough to. get it over the two shafts.
Make sure the beater bar turns freely with the new drive belt attached. Put the plate back over the beater bars.

Take care.

I have a Sears Upright vacuum cleaner, model 116.35922500. The vacuum wasn’t picking up. I discovered a clog in the nozzle hose. I attempted to remove the cover of the brush unit to clear the clog. I was unable to remove the cover completely, but was able to clear the clog. My problem now is that I cannot replace the cover correctly. Is there a way to remove this cover? Thanks, Elizabeth
ANSWER : When you tried to remove the cover did you have to put a little force on it to get to the clog

Suction Cover The suction cover of my Eureka Deep Steam 2575A is broken – the tabs snapped off of the cover so I am unable to screw the suction cover back on. I need to purchase a new suction cover but can’t find one anywhere. Anyone know what I can do? thanks

Kenmore Model 116 Cannister Vacuum.Trying to get into motor area. Think belt is worn out. I have removed the front two screws under the hinged cover, but can not remove cover over motor.. Still attached at rear. No evidence of any more screws to remove.
ANSWER : Under the cordwinder actuator button, are your other two screws. To remove this cover, take a flat tipped screwdriver and , very carefully, find the “tabs” (there are two) both on the front section under the button. Then, Carefully, press them in and back and up, in that order, one at atime, or both if you can. Your button should pop off, it can be a bit tricky, I know, it feels like it could break. But don’t worry, they usually don’t break. If you think that there is a problem with your belt, there is no reason to be accessing the motor compartment, for there is not a belt anywhere except the power nozzle, and if you press the circuit breaker/reset switch (while unit is running) located on the power nozzle, this will often solve problems with your belt. I hope i could help fixya! Let me know, thanks! Rene (the Vacuum Doctor)

I am trying to disassemble a electrolux 2100. I have looked at instructions given by Chemist 1961 and others. On the side, I have removed the rubber covers over the plastic rails but I can’t remove the plastic rails that hold the rubber covers on. If I am right, these rails should just slide right out and the outer casing should come part…..or am I doing something wrong. I have pulled and pulled the rails and they don’t budge. The rear end won’t pop off. Help!
ANSWER : There’s a tab at the back of the rail that needs to be released. Turn the vacuum on it’s side, slip the tip of a standard screwdrive into the space between the rail and the back of the vacuum, and tap lightly with a hammer. Tap toward the front of the vacuum a few times until the rail is far enough forward to be slid out fairly easily..As a side note, the rubber covers do not need to be removed to do this.

How do I remove a motor from a Dyson DC04? The bottom plastic cover can be removed by unsrewing the tork screws but the cover beneath the filter won’t come off
ANSWER : I can’t say exactly how to do this, but when you can’t find the screws to take something apart, they are usually hidden by something else. You did good looking under the bottom cover, but what you’re looking for is elsewhere. If there is a seam or line around the middle where it looks like two halves fit together and you can’t find anymore screws, use a flat blade screwdriver and GENTLY start to pry them apart to see if they start to separate. If it doesn’t give easily, don’t force it. Many times a cover will snap into place and then is held secure by screws.

.Good luck, and please remember to rate this. I want to know if this helps at all.

How do I remove the battery in a Dustbuster chv1400 for replacement? I have removed the two screws and removed the cover, but I’m unable to figure out the retaining clips for the battery. Of course I don’t want to break the clips.
ANSWER : That model looks similar to my DB200. Instead of the screws, the underside has a latch/panel that you remove. Place a screwdriver in the two slot-like holes that face each other (one at a time) and the ‘door’ should pop out. Mine was a little stiff and I broke one of the retainers inside. Shouldn’t be a problem. Sourcing a replacement battery ‘pack’ is what I’m doing now....
Good luck!

Bosch canister vac BSG81313. Took cover off to remove lots of hair, dirt etc from running without bag in place. Everything went back together OK, but cord reel spring went zip when cover was removed. How do I rewind the spring so there is tension when the cord is pulled out ? Wound cord back onto reel, but reel just clicks ever revolution etc…no tension when cord is pulled out of vac.

Bob

ANSWER : The spring inside the hub of the cord wheel has escaped from the locking tab. You must completely dismantle the vacuum to access the cord wheel – take it out, reattach the spring and reassemble the unit. All you need is a phillips screwdriver, a pair of pliers and some patience.
