If brush will not turn by hand, or belt is broken, replace the damaged part by ordering online at BISSELL.com. Clean off any debris on the brush. If the brush is still not turning, please take the unit to an Authorized Service Center to have a Quality Technician inspect the unit.
Your dirty water tank may not be secured tightly. Check the rubber tab on the dirty water tank and press firmly on all edges to secure it tightly. The accessory hose door also needs to be closed securely. Check the door and make sure it is locked in place.
A possible cause might be that the tank is not properly seated. To assure the tank is seated properly, pick it up and re-seat is so it sits snugly on the unit. If this doesn`t fix the problem, make sure the tank is assembled properly. To make sure they are both latched properly, pick the tank up by its handle.
Check your hose for any cracks or holes that can cause loss of suction. You may also have a clog in the lower hose. Pull down and at an angle to disconnect. A clog in the main hose could also be the problem.
Make sure the Clean Water Tank is seated correctly on the machine. If it isn`t, turn off and unplug your machine, remove and reseat the tank until it clicks into place. This is also a good time to check for cracks or leaks in the tank. If it`s damaged, a replacement can be ordered on BISSELL.com.
If you still have reduced or no spray it might mean the pump has lost its prime. To fix this, turn the power off and then back on. Wait for one minute, then depress the trigger.

I have a Bissell Pro 2x carpet cleaner. The water heats properly as well as spraying the cleaning product. However, when I go to suction the water from the carpets, the 2 in 1 water tank bladder works properly but there is no dirty water outside the bladder. I have only used this carpet cleaner ~ 5 times and in the beginning I had to empty the suctioned water quite frequently as it was dirty and it could not not hold any more water. So I have done 1 room and all the dirt remains in the carpet
ANSWER : Check that the suction cone is not blocked. Check that the filter or hose to the bladder isn’t blocked as well.
I have a Bissell Pro Heat 2X carpet cleaner and the brushes spin, then stop. I turn it off and when I re-start, the brushes do not spin until I push foreward. The it spins and stops again. Both belts are tight. The brushes spin if held above the carpet, but upon contact with carpet it stops. Same thing on a hard surface.
ANSWER : The reason for the brushes to stop when it is above any surface is there is a switch in the handle that stops the brushes so it dont burn your motor up it may have a faulty switch.
My carpet cleaner (bissell proheat plus) is not steaming, dispensing cleaner. Seems like there’s a little thingy that should be spinning or turning….. ANSWER : Maybe there’s not enough vacuum or it hasn’t been primed enough. I have a proheat that drove me crazy till I started leaving the heat switch on. I get wads of carpet fiber that mat around brush and spit out on the carpet, so I frequently remove them. I’m just wondering if after you empty the water, it may not have built up the suction. We have a Bissell Proheat Cleanshot 2X Model 9500 Steam carpet cleaner. The first time we used it things were great. The second time we used it it left tracks in the carpet. We have no idea what caused this. We tried using the machine on an entirely different carpet and it did the same thing. After vacuuming the carpet about 10 or 12 times, the tracks are still embedded in the carpet – HELP!!!! We’re read and reread the manual and contacted customer service and received no help.
ANSWER : First things first. It’s only the second time you have used the machine, so it must be fairly new. If you have a receipt and the unit is less than a year old you should take it to an authorized Bissell repair center and have the machine inspected under warranty.

Bissell Pro Heat 8910 clogged?
ANSWER : Why the motor sounds muffled I am not sure. When the water is sucked up, it goes directly into the tank. The motor only creates the suction so it can do that. There should be a filter on the rim of the recovery tank lid, is it clean? Other then pulling the top cover off, and then the motor cover so you can inspect the motor, I really don’t have a good answer for you. I t may be that that clump of hair when down the chute and into the fan, I have seen that happen with vacuum motors before.
