Electrolux vacuum brush not turning problem:
was vacuuming and rug got caught auto shut off kicked off power to brush. instead of hitting red button to restart brush I disconnected brush to vacuum some hair in Conner. after i reconnected the brush and hit the red button but no power to brush. Light won’t even switch on. Hope you can help
ANSWER : Under the vacuum, there is a guard..remove the guard , either by 2 screws or by 2 clips..there is a belt under the guard..that is connected to the brush..the belt need to be replaced.

Now that I just fixed my Lux Legacy canister vacuum, I need help on my other Electrolux Regency Series upright! The vacuum works fine but the rotating brush does not work and the brush motor does not turn on. Tried cleaning the brush and hitting hte reset button to no avail. ANSWER : There are a couple rectangular holes on the bottom of the power nozzle, beside the wheels. These have tabs in them that need released with a standard screwdriver.

The original belt on my upright Kenmore Progressive broke and I replaced it with the spare that was in the vacuum. The vacuum and spare belt are about 10 years old. Then the spare broke after one vacuuming session and there was a burning smell coming from the vacuum. I ordered new belts and replaced it with the new belt. I am trying to replace my vacuum belt and can not get the roller brush to fit back into the slot after I put the belt back onto one end of the roller brush. Am I reassembling the belt and roller brush the right way?
ANSWER : If its a hoover or bissell, one side of the brushroll is slotted and slides. if its a eureka the hexagon end caps must be properly aligned, they go in at an angle. if its none of these provide me with the make and model # and i will give you a detailed description on installation. let me know if you need more help.

My Dyson Animal has good suction and works fine for actually picking up dirt, but when I use the vacuum with the roller, I hear a grinding/rumbling noise. Its only when I use the vacuum with the brush rotating. It does not happen hen I shut the roller brush off. The belt is fine. I cannot figure out what is wrong as there are no clogs, debris, or foreign objects stuck in the brush or in the belt. The noise seems to be the only issue. The vacuum picks up fine. ANSWER : Trace the path of the suction into the tank and see if there is anything loose or ingested..Also, remove the brush and clean as best you can. Perhaps there is something caught in it. Lubricate where it makes sense with some WD40.

My Hoover Windtunnel Mach 6.9 brush roller quit working. Upon investigating I found that the idler arm pulley was broken so I managed to replace that. Before putting the cover back on I see the control knob for the roller brush moves a plastic piece left or right to activate/deactivate the brush roller. I don't know where this plastic piece connects. It appears to me that the idler are when raised creates tension on the belt which drives the roller. I'm at a loss trying to figure ou

Bissell Lift OfF Brush Roller Stops Rotating
ANSWER : They make the worst machines, the rollers are cheap and they make it so you cant take them apart to clean them. You don’t want a dyson either, they aren’t any better for pets. With all that hardwood floors you should get a good canister vacuum, sebo and miele are the best.
