With proper care, your robot`s battery should last at least 2-3 years before it needs to be replaced. Here are some battery maintenance tips to extend battery life and keep Roomba® cleaning at peak performance: Only use iRobot® batteries.
As far as battery life is concerned, the s9+ has one of the best on the market. iRobot says it has a max battery life of 120 minutes, which should be great for large homes.
Charging time under normal conditions is at least 2 hours. For best results, use only the battery type compatible with your robot and ensure that it is an authentic iRobot Lithium Ion/NiMH battery that comes with Roomba or purchased from iRobot authorized dealers.
Store Roomba® on the Home Base® so it`s always charged and ready to clean when you need it. Charging time under normal conditions is at least two (2) hours. For best results, only use the iRobot® Lithium Ion Battery that comes with your Roomba®.
If you still have a run time of 10-15 minutes, we suggest you to purchase a new battery. Batteries are covered by a 6-month warranty, they should last between 1 to 2 years. Can`t anyone give a better answer to `how long does the standard roomba battery last?

ANSWER : Dave you are correct. You should never over-charge anything like a Roomba, Cel Phone, etc. That will kill a bettery very quickly.

I have iRobot Roomba 4210 and I have a problem with charge battery. The battery is new. When I charging a battery in other iRobot Roomba the battery was full charged. When I charging in my iRobot Roomba the battery was empty. My fast charger is OK.
ANSWER : The charging circuit on the main board is fried. This is a common issue. You need some good electronic repair skills, and equipment, to replace the problem components

I purchased a brand new P113 Ryobi charger about 2 years ago. It has never worked. If I put a P104 battery in for a charge, it looks like it works correctly. I push the battery tester on the battery itself, and it says full charge, but when I go to use the bateery, it dies right away. I have tried three new P104 batteries. The batteries charge on my charger at work with no problem. The funny thing is, I don't need a battery in the charger and the charger does the same thing, It runs the test
ANSWER : If you have your receipt, check with Ryobi to see if it is still under warranty. It comes with either a 2 or 3 year warranty, depending on when it was purchased. If it is still covered, get it replaced/repaired. If it is not, buy the P117 charger. $30 at Home Depot. It has a 90 day satisfaction guarantee. If it charges your batteries properly, you’re good. If not, bring it back if you don’t like/want it. My P113 won’t get out of test mode now, or charge Lithium batteries anymore. So I bought the P117 yesterday. Works great, and it’s a lot cheaper than new batteries! And it has a 3 year warranty.

Roomba Discovery My Roomba turns on and moves but the brushes won’t turn. Someone told me that I had forgotten to put in the yellow and black end bearings, but I did. Help, I miss my Roomba

ANSWER : I read somewhere that you need to clear the software in case there is a glitch. To do this, take the battery out and then, simultaneously hold down the “spot” and “clean” buttons for 30 seconds. Replace battery. This has worked for my Discovery model.

Our roomba 560 wont charge have replaced the battery Tested the charing unit with another roomba that all seems ok put the uncharged battery into another Roomba but im guessing it now has a memory as this wont charge in the other hoover. Any ideas what may be wrong
ANSWER : Try cleaning the battery contacts with a little rubbing alcohol or contact cleaner on a foam swab, or a bit of paper towel. Take a litle time, it doesn’t always dissolve instantly. (Don’t use a pink pencil eraser, it would scrub off the plating that prevents corrosion) Clean both contacts on the battery pack and both of the contacts in the Roomba. Make sure the battery is oriented correctly when you put it back in. Also clean the charging base contacts and the corresponding contacts on the Roomba itself.
.I’m not sure entirely sure what you’re trying to recover – the new battery pack, the old battery pack, or the Roomba itself – but since you can swap parts back and forth, you can clearly isolate the problem. The old battery pack might be rehabilitatted if you have the equipment to recondition it, but if it may not work. The new battery shouldn’t have been harmed that easily.

Can you take the Swivel Sweeper battery pack apart to replace the batteries with new rechargeable batteries? Batteries look like AA or AAA, but it appears that the battery pack is sealed. Is there any way to get it apart:?
ANSWER : Yes you can if you have a way to cut through the plastic outer case,(I used a Dremel rotary tool). Inside you will find six double A Ni-mh batteries. I found eight of these for sale on ebay for around ten bucks,then all you do is solder some wire to the batteries like the original battery pack and tape up the case and charge.

My Roomba Discovery 4210 seems to be dead. Specifically, with or without a battery, and whether on the charging station or plugged directly into the charging unit, I see no lights on the display whatsoever. This unit has a history of killing batteries, but now seems like it is completely dead. I will advice you remove the batteries from your Roomba Discovery 4210, after removing the batteries, plug the Roomba Discovery 4210 directly with the charger to an AC outlet, see if charges, if it does, it means the batteries are dead and will need to be replaced.
