Push a broomstick through the hose to force any large clogs out. Take the end of the broomstick and feed it through the hose. Push the stick in slowly so you don`t accidentally break or puncture the hose. If there is a large clog in your hose, the broomstick will force it out from the other end.
To release the wand on the Hoover® REACT™ Powered Reach™ Plus press the Powered Reach™ Mode button on the top of the canister. This will allow you to remove the canister and access the wand release. The wand release button is located on the spine of the vacuum directly behind the dirt cup.

Beater brushes not turning on the wife’s Hoover Steam Vac model F5905-900. Found one prior ”solution” stating that it sounded like the belt was bad. That was my original thought, but on checking schematics and trying to find part numbers at Sears Parts Direct and at Hoover, it does not appear the F5905-900 steam vac HAS any belts to begin with. What’s next??
ANSWER : This one I can tell you about from personal experience with that generation Hoover Steam Vac. After using it about 7 or 8 times my brushes stopped turning also.

I disassembled it (kind of like disassembling a Chinese puzzle box) and found that the Turbine which develops the torque for the brushes simply has worn out. I replaced the part and it works fine now. Unfortunately unless you are familiar with that sort of repair it’s high on the difficulty side. When I took it to a local shop they wanted about $150 to repair it. That was more than half the price I paid for it. It’s simply not a very good design. Hoover wont’ talk about them yet they are still selling them.

The least expensive place to purchase a replacement part is at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250648382497&rvr_id=&crlp=1_263602_263622&UA=%3F*F%3F&GUID=70355e091290a0aad3175ab7ff9f985a&itemid=250648382497&ff4=263602_263622.

The repair shop wanted to charge me $60 for the part.

It seems that the manufacturer is ignoring the problem and it’s a great claim for a class action suit against them.

Zashiban

I have a hoover steam vac LS 3600 and i attached the tool to clean my couch. the tool is sucking but no solution is coming out. i checked the hose and everything looks ok but no solution will come out of the sprayer.
ANSWER : There is a small pump inline of the spray unit. This is normally a coil type reciprocating type and most often this can be dirty or faulty.
.So remove pump and check it on table to see if this works, if not clean or test coils for continuity. If not replace.

Broken hose The hose on my Hoover F5837-900 Steam vac Supreme broke away from the coupler on the bottom of the unit – under/behind the recovery tank (solution tube is till attached). It might have gotten pinched in there a couple times. Problem – it was glued in the coupler really well, and I cannot get the whole thing out – hose will be too short anyway – is there a way to fix this or a part I can order instead??
ANSWER : You will have to replace the complete hose asm, part # 90001337

Hoover steam vac, brushes won’t rotate, have cleaned filter by brushes, removed brushes and they rotate okay when off steam vac, tried to ajust level for carpet cleaning and brushes still don’t move
ANSWER : There are three things to check when experiencing ‘no spin’ on the cleaning brushes. 1) Check the small pull out filter screen under the machine. It must stay clean for air to pass to the turbine which powers the brushes. 2) Check that the long shaft on the brush assembly is not broken off. This shaft inserts into the turbine motor and powers the brushes. If you’re handy you can replace just the long shaft brush rather than replacing the whole brush assembly. Look for the brush on Ebay 3) If you’re handy you can dissemble the machine and inspect the turbine motor which powers the brushes. In all cases the bearings seize in the turbine. You can often free them up and re-lube them to get more service from them or simply replace the turbine assembly. Don’t throw your Steam Vac out because the brushes no longer turn…you can fix it!

Replaced internal pump. Color coded hoses for replacement. Marker has worn off hoses. Need proper routing of hoses from clean water tank, to heater to spray nozzles. An internal schematic of hose routing is preferred.
ANSWER : Hi
.
.Thanks for using FixYa. Please remove the top cover of your Bissell cleaner. Now place the Auto-Mix selector knob to the water only position. Turn the cover over. You will notice an angle on the top of the piston. This will fit between a couple of plastic ridges on the top cover by the selector screw.
.Now angle the piston slightly forward and engage the angled cut in the top of the piston with the screw thread and pull back. Turn the screw to the high traffic position and replace the cover. Apply a very little amount of silicon grease around the Auto-Mix piston ‘O’ ring, it will ease the re- installation of the cover.

.Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
