iRobot 5800 Scooba Vacuum\015 Hi,..I have used my Scooba 5800 for a few months. Last night, I try to recharge the battery (Power charge plugs into Scooba 5800), but the power button turned red blinking. I did reinsert a few times to ensure the battery sitting on the Scooba properly, still red blinking..Kindly advise what’s happened? How can I check the battery is still in good condition or die down already? Any way to verify the Scooba charging circuit is ok? by measuring the Voltage readings on the battery connections on Scooba?..Any possibility cause red blinking? Bad contact somewhere in the circuit?..Thank you very much for any suggestion..Edmund\015

You may want to reset your robots charging system by removing the battery and then pressing the power button for at least 15 seconds. Then reinserting the battery and charging it for 72 hours. This refresh charge may help your robot.
Reset the Scooba 450 by pressing and holding down “i” (info) and “Room size” buttons for 10 seconds.
Charging error twenty (20) means your robot`s battery was not initialized upon charging. Remove and re-install your battery to resolve the issue. If the error persists, contact iRobot Customer Care for additional assistance.
Charging Error 7 indicates the battery is not charging. Check that you are using an authentic iRobot® Lithium Ion Battery. Charging errors can occur with counterfeit batteries. Ensure that Roomba is being charged at room temperature.
Turn the ignition off on both cars. Connect the positive cable to positive terminals on both batteries. Connect the negative cable to the negative node of the functioning battery. Connect the other end of the negative cable to the ground on the dead battery.
On the Scooba 450, error 1 is associated with the red light to the left of the CLEAN button flashing. The error is not common, but occurs approximately after a year or more of prolonged use or after a long period of inactivity of the Scooba 450. The message says “I have encountered error 1.
Error 21 means the robot is experiencing an internal communication error. Press CLEAN to restart the cleaning mission. If the message persists, perform a robot reboot, and test again. If a reboot does not clear the error, try removing the battery.
Connect the red wire of the adapter to the positive terminal and the black wire to the negative terminal of the battery`s discharge port. If the wires are connected, the light on the charger should turn red. Hold the wires in place for 15 seconds in order to reset the BMS.
Remove the Roomba robot from its charging dock and if the machine is off, press the CLEAN button to turn it on. Press and hold the HOME and SPOT buttons at the same time for 10 seconds and then release them at the same time. You should hear the beeping reboot tone, which indicates the reboot was successful.

Scooba 5800 Power button Red Blinking
ANSWER : You probably have the manual, but here’s the link to the Scooba 5800 manual anyway – just in case this would be useful to you: –> ..http://www.irobot.com/images/homesupport/5800_Scooba_Manual.pdf ...You could use a voltmeter to check the battery, but only a few months use shouldn’t be enough to wear it out. If you don’t have a load-tester to verify the battery’s load-capacity, then you can check the voltage drop. (Assuming you can get it to contact the Scooba’s circuits.) ..To do this, just check the battery voltage, apply a load by inserting it in the machine and turning it on, then check the battery voltage again. An excessive drop in voltage may indicate the battery needs replacing. ..However, the red blinking light is Scooba’s indicator that it doesn’t detect the battery at all. The first thing to do in this case is to clean the electrical contacts on the battery and in the Scooba. ..Use a damp cloth and a bit of toothpaste to rub the contacts clean on the battery and in the machine. (Toothpaste has mild abrasives in it and will clean the electric contacts without damaging them.) Make sure that both the battery and the Scooba are clean and dry before re-inserting the battery. ..Also, if the electric contacts in the machine are flexible matal tabs then verify that the tabs are standing up high enough to make good contact with the battery contacts. ..Hopefully the battery just needs it’s contacts cleaned for your unit to work, but test the battery if you are sure that they are clean and seated properly to the contacts in the machine. If the battery appears to be failing, then contact www.irobot.com to cheack and see if they are still covered under your machine’s warranty. ...Hope this helps! đŸ™‚

Roomba discovery on full charge power up and it will run 5 sec power button then flashes red and roomba quits. I have tried removing battery and holding power button for 30 sec then charging same result
ANSWER : Unfortunately the batteries on the roombas can go bad and not hold a charge and need to be replaced, also you should check all the brushes and wheels on the bottom, if they are bound up it would stop the roomba from working. the two brush rollers can be removed by pushing on the two tabs just above them, try and clean any hair from them. if its real bad you should buy the maintance kit from them witch gives you both brushes and filters as well.
I have a miele S712 (2 yrs old worked fine yesterday) – I had been doing some diy work inside and had the vac on just to reduce some of the dust in the air – after a while the vacuum fizzled out. I guessed it had overheated and took it outside to cool down – when I tried to turn it back on pressing the power button gives it power and it starts to **** but it won’t STAY on, soon as you release the power button it stops, and the orange bag indicator is showing full. As I have a compressor I took
ANSWER : You have got dust in the micro switch and it is not latching on, if you look at this and clean it, that will solve your problem, however blowing the motir has probably wrecked the motor bearings.
REMOTE CONTROL IS MALFUNCTIONING & NOT TURNING ON CUSHION – Hello. I bought a used (by near new) Shiatsu+ Massaging Cushion from Ebay. When I installed it today the remote control was faulty. When you push the Power button, the blue light comes on, but none of the other buttons work. When you push the Power button again to turn it off, it clicks & turns itself back on again. So it’s running but nothing is happening in the massage cushion.
I did see a card in the box saying “For the Shiatsu
ANSWER : Before you use this cushion you MUST first ‘unlock’ the rollers which are held in place by a screw which MUST be removed or the unit will self destruct. The manufacturer provides a hex wrench to remove the shipping screw and a large label on the back of the device states that if the screw is not removed then the item will be damaged when you turn it on.The large tag says “For the shiatsu mechanism to function, you MUST remove and discard screw BEFORE using this cushion. Failure to do so WILL CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT”. The manual does not mention this screw. There is a two year warranty and a $(ten dollar) handling fee for warranty repairs. I suppose that the warranty is void if you do not remove the screw, however, it seems that only by luck would one normally find this shipping screw (and tag) that holds the rolling mechanism in place during shipping.
...
Remove the screw from the back as instructed by the manual. When you first get the massage cushion you will need to open the box and set it up. The first thing you need to do is remove the safety screw. This screw is holding the massage mechanism in place for shipping purposes. If you do not remove this screw before you turn it on you could permanently damage the cushion. After removing the screw you need to find a good chair and strap it on and plug it in. There are two straps that you need to attach. One is on the back and the other is where the back meets the seat. Once those are around the chair then you plug in the transformer to the wall and the massager. After setting up the massager all you need to do is sit on it and turn it on. You may want to start out with a rolling massage so that you can get a feel for the massager.————–.
but as you mentioned, that its a used product, then yes the screw must be already removed by the previous user.and in that case, it indicates any thing internally is got shorted, a loose wire or shorted transformer or burned circuit or weak motor. This are few possibilities , that can cause the problem. Also check batteries in remote.——— And i dont think, this problem is caused by you. This problem must be there before buying this product.Thats why, the user must have sold this on ebay.A local electrical parts repair store tech can get the internal board checked and confirm. If this board is faulty or any small loose wire or shorted wire.————–.
This should help.Thanks.Helpmech..
When i hit the power button on my miele carina, it doesnt lock and stay on. i have to hold down the power button for the power to stay on. Please advise
ANSWER : Try a little WD-40 sprayed sparingly on the button. work the button a few times- may be sticky spring or contact. if that doesn’t work, check with retailer where you purchased it- see if you can get a replacement switch! if you’re handy, or have a handy friend, you can prob. replace it yourself!
good luck!
No power unable to manually turn off power, i opened up rear handle hatch to inspect the mechanism/linkage. The red on/off button seems locked in the on position. I replaced the hatch and now i have no power at all. what happened? Is there a fuse?
ANSWER : This vacuum has a recall notice on it. It has to do with the switch. You might want to check… They will fix it for free
