Check service panel for tripped breakers/blown fuses. If breaker is tripped, reset it. If fuse is blown, replace it. If vacuum cleaner is plugged in, be sure power button is in the off position before resetting breaker/changing fuse.
Lack of power, a bad power cord, failed drive motor or broken wires in the vacuum hose can prevent the vacuum cleaner from starting. Make sure the electrical outlet that you`re using for the vacuum cleaner works. Try using a different outlet if you suspect that the outlet you`re using is dead.
The most common reason for vacuum motors failing is overheating. Most `dry` vacuums have a flow-though motor. These motors use the air they have sucked up the dust with, to cool themselves. When there is a blockage, flow-though motors are unable to cool themselves due to the lack of airflow.
If the motor still has some life in it, it will start, but if it is going bad, it will only work for 10-15 minutes or less. If it doesn`t start at all, it is obviously bad. Sometimes slapping the motor or vacuum unit will jar the motor and get it to work again for a few minutes. Intermittent motors should be replaced.
This overload reset switch button (part number 8191505) is for vacuums. Overload reset switch button 8191505 resets the overload switch when you push it. Unplug the vacuum before installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.
The most common problems found in vacuum cleaners are low suction force, excessive noise, burning smell, vacuum not turn on, and overheating. These issues can be fixed by either cleaning the device or replacing some parts of the device. At times, it is best to seek a professional to fix the cleaner effectively.
the vacuum system may be dirty, the pumping line may be restricted or too small in diameter, the pump may be dirty or with too little capacity, the pumping speed may be restricted due to other causes.
Vacuum System Failures:

Reduces or eliminates effectiveness of the turn coordinator, attitude indicator, and heading indicator. Discovered by a low indication on the vacuum gauge or unusual instrument indicators. When the primary air inlet is blocked, the backup inlet automatically opens due to pressure.

As a central vacuum manufacturer we use the 120 and 240 volt motors. The 120 and 240 motors will not be adversely affected if used with lower voltages. The 120 volt motor will be fine on 110 volts. Likewise, a 240 volt motor will be fine on 220 or 230 volts.
Factory reset on a Wi-Fi Connected Roomba® and Braava jet®

e Series Robots: Press and Hold the Home and Spot Clean and CLEAN button down for 20 seconds then release. 900 Series Robots: Press and Hold the Dock and Spot Clean and CLEAN button down until all LEDs illuminate.

Press down the “Dock”, “Spot Clean”, and “Clean” buttons at the same time. Keep pushing them down until you hear a beep tone that signals the reset is complete—this takes 10 to 20 seconds depending on your exact model. Note that if you have a 900 series Roomba, it won`t beep once you`ve reset it.
VOLTAGE TYPES (VAC / VDC)

This means the fuse can be used in a circuit he voltage maximum operating at this voltage . For example; if your fuse was rated at 250VAC, it could be used in a 250VAC circuit or in a or less lower voltage circuit such as 12VAC, but it must not be used in a circuit operating above 250VAC ie.

Simply attach an air-driven beater brush to the end of the wand and turn on the suction. The air from the vacuum pushes the brush through a turbine. You`ll need an electric hose hooked into an electrical outlet or an electrified central vacuum inlet to use an electric power brush.
A universal motor is typically used as suction motor across vacuum cleaners. The universal motor is a series DC-motor that is specially designed to operate on alternating current (AC) as well as on direct current (DC). Universal motors have high starting torque, operate at high speed, and are lightweight.
Second, can you vacuum too much? Believe it or not the answer is no. Now, if you vacuumed continually 24 hours a day, yes, that would be too much. Vacuuming every day, or even a few times a day, is not going to create any long term problems.
Although you should leave some vacuum pump repair to an expert, there are things you can do to diagnose and fix faults in the equipment. A vacuum pump repair facility may offer services to train you internal maintenance men to do various levels of pump repairs.
Vacuum leaks in today`s computer controlled engines can cause very serious engine damage.
Major vacuum leaks

A vacuum leak allows unmetered air into the engine, throwing off that balance. Although most vacuum leaks cause performance problems (i.e., rough running and stalling) a large enough leak can prevent the engine from starting altogether.

Lithium Iron Phosphate (IFR) – the normal voltage of these batteries is 3.2V per cell and the maximum is between 3.5V – 3.6V. Lithium cobalt oxide (ICR) – these are the higher capacity batteries. Their normal voltage is usually 3.6V – 3.7V, and the maximum can reach up to 4.2V.
But not to worry, appliances are designed to operate within a range of voltages from 110 to 120. For the purposes of understanding vacuum cleaner specifications the only thing about voltage we really need to know is the formula, amps x volts = watts and conversely, watts/volts = amps.
Any negative pressure significantly below standard atmospheric pressure (760 Torr/mmHg, 29.9 inHg or 14.7 PSI) is considered a vacuum.
Your filters get clogged with bacteria, dust, smoke, mold, and other particles. These can all affect the air quality in your home as well as the performance of your vacuum`s cleaning abilities, if the filter is clogged you will find the suction and general performance of your vacuum will be minimized.

Central vac our central vac will not work unless the main vac in the garage is switched on manualy…. its sucking fine but i have to switch it off at the main switch in the garage after i have used it normaly i just plug in the hose and vac away and it switches itself off we have just had cable installed with a fisher guy in the walls do you think that would be the problem thanks a lot
ANSWER : It is possible that the low voltage wiring that controls your central vacuum has been damaged during the cable work. You can check to see if the low voltage relay is working by shorting the two terminals together at the unit. Just disconnect the two small (18-22 gauge) wires from the unit and short across the terminals where the wires connect. If the unit comes on, the vacuum is fine, and it is most likely the low voltage control wires that have been damaged. It should be a pretty easy fix, if you can get to where the wires are located. They are probably just pulled apart at a joint. Good Luck!!

My Dyson DC07 vacuum started to run slower after being on for a little while and then would run normally again. I have switched on today and it has just stopped. When I push the start button, on occasions it almost starts and then doesn’t. I am wondering if there is a problem with the switch and if so how can it be fixed?

Thankyou.

ANSWER : The motor running slower was the motor starting to burn out. The “almost start” is the brushes making intermittent contact with the armature in the motor. .
.Your machine needs a new motor Pam.

I think I need to replace the main battery in my small floor vac – the one that can be hand held like a dust buster or work like a small floor vac. I need to know how to remove the battery and replace it with what kind of new battery..
ANSWER : I see my sense of humor is not appreciated…it was only a joke. Anyway, here is what you do: First, slide the battery cover off the bottom of the hand held unit. Remove the battery from the motor housing by pressing the tab on connector “A”; this releases the battery from the motor housing. Plug the new battery (LC-R064R2P) into connector “A”. When installing the battery the wires have to go in first and they must be placed in front of the battery or you’ll never get the battery cover back on.
