How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Mixing ratio of 1:10 with warm water of +/- 40 degrees.
Instead of saturating your carpet with hot soapy water, the Kirby Multi-Surface Shampoo System works a thick foam into your carpet fibers. Dirt is emulsified in foam then captured on the Multi-Surface Shampoo System tray. This process leaves very little moisture behind allowing your carpets to dry much faster.
Recommended dilution on carpets is between 10:1 and 20:1, either in a automated carpet cleaner or by diluting in a bottle and spraying directly to the surface. Once dry the carpet can be vacuumed to complete the process.
The product should be diluted according to the machines directions or at a ratio of 6oz of Carpet Shampoo to 1 gallon of water.
Mix your Pro+ Carpet Shampoo with some warm water. Use 30-50ml of shampoo for every 1L of water in your solution.
VACUUMING. Q: What is the N/D pedal on the back of the Kirby for? A: This is your Neutral/Drive pedal. When you are vacuuming or using the carpet shampooer in the upright position, push down the Drive (D) pedal.
Turn the unit on and press the toe-touch upper control pedal as often as necessary to lower the Power Nozzle to its lowest setting. Press the toe-touch lower control pedal one notch at a time to raise it to your preferred height. Listen for each click as it raises or lowers.

The machine should run slowly and cover the carpet completely. Before clipping and emptying, the shampoo solution should have time to distribute properly on the carpet. The smaller and cheaper your carpet cleaner, the longer it will take. You have to shampoo and rinse the carpet several times before the water clears.

The Kirby shampoo takes 2 hours to completely dry, at the most. I also noticed that clean-up was a lot easier. The Kirby shampoo rinses away clean with just cold water, taking the dirt with it.
A carpet cleaner, also known as a carpet extractor or carpet shampooer, is designed to remove deeply embedded dirt and stains in carpets. For optimal results, the machines work as follows: Users pretreat the carpet by spraying it with a cleaning solution and letting it soak in, or dwell, for about 15 minutes.
Vacuuming your carpet before the cleaning service arrives is not necessary as they include it as part of the service. However, many homeowners fear that a traveling vacuum may be transporting bacteria, fleas, germs, and urine deposits with it from one place to another.
It`s not unusual for DIY carpet cleaners to need eight or even 10 passes on a carpet before the water runs clear. This is especially true when: It has been a long time since your carpet was last deep-cleaned.
The same cleaner can be mixed in a solution of 2 ounces per gallon of water for use in Carpet Extraction Cleaning Machines. The 3-in-1 Carpet Cleaner can also be mixed in a dilution of 8 ounces per gallon of water for use in Bonnet Cleaning, following directions for the specific machine used.
Most professional carpet cleaners use a psi setting of 100-400, but can go as high as 500 for a deeper clean. Delicate fabrics like nylon and cotton require a significantly low psi setting of only 50 to avoid damage to the carpet pile while still using enough pressure to suck up dust, dirt, and other particles.
I like to pre-treat my stains by using a 50-50 mix of the concentrated solution and water. You can add it to a spray bottle or just use your fingers to dab a bit of it on the stain. Let it sit for 5 minutes then shampoo over it.
There is a fill line on the disposable bag and when the dirt reaches this line you should replace your disposable bag because it is no longer filtering properly. Be sure to utilize only Genuine Kirby filter bags, available here to ensure your Kirby system is cleaning properly.
Vinegar, baking soda, and salt are common household items that can be used as carpet cleaners. Soften a carpet by mixing fabric softener, hot water, clear vinegar, and dishwashing detergent.
A carpet shampooer will treat the surface of your carpet. A carpet steam cleaner uses heat to extract the dirt from the fibers. Decide how deep of a clean you require when choosing between shampoo carpet cleaning vs. steam cleaning.
It can take anywhere from 20-40 minutes for an average room. Of course, that time does vary depending on the size and number of rooms being cleaned. Finally, you`ll have to wait for the carpets to dry, which can take anywhere from 6 hours to 24 hours.
You shouldn`t need to make more than two passes with cleaning solution (especially if you pre-treated stains) when deep cleaning your carpet. Make additional passes without spray button pressed.
Detergent left in a carpet, serves as a magnet for new dirt. When finished shampooing, run a tank of clear water over the heavy cleaned areas (e.g. entrances and walkways). This will help remove excess shampoo and keep those areas cleaner for longer. It also helps to rinse out the shampoo from inside in the machine!
Ambient conditions can affect how long it takes carpet to dry after cleaning. Weather can put a damper on your carpet drying experience. Both temperature and humidity impact how long it takes for carpet to dry after it are cleaned. If it is rainy and humid outside, expect the carpet to take much longer to dry.
Instead of depositing soapy water on the carpet, the Kirby Multi-Surface Shampoo System works a thick foam onto the carpet fibers. This scrubs and emulsifies any caked-on dirt and grime. The dirt and thick foam is then collected in the Multi-Surface Shampoo System tray.

Electrolux Epic 6500SR Full Bag sensor working, Does not Reset properly
ANSWER : The problem was a sticking switch that was not being reset. The vacuum on/off switch mechanism is comprised of two switches. One is the main switch that turns the vacuum on and off. The second is a shut off switch that gets tripped when the full bag sensor is engaged. This second switch is supposed to get reset when you push the on/off switch on the outside of the machine. The full bag shutoff switch was stiff and it, therefore, was taking a couple of presses of the on/off switch to move the shutoff switch back into the running position.

Setting up to shampoo carpets with a Kirby – Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum
ANSWER : Greetings from GoVacuum,

Here’s an easy to understand and follow video review on how to attach the carpet shampooer to the Kirby Generation 6 (G6). The model that’s being used in this video is a little newer model, the Sentria, but the procedure to attach the carpet cleaning attachment is the same exact repair on the Sentria as it is on your Kirby G6 vacuum2_bing.gif.

I hope this helps!

Replace cord on kirby ultimate g – Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum
ANSWER : Simple see utube for video showing you how

Unbeknownst to me, someone took the bag out of my Kenmore Progressive vacuum and failed to replace it. I have been vacuuming without a bag for months, and today the vacuum stopped sucking. When I opened up the front to replace the bag, tons of dirt and dust came pouring out. I thoroughly cleaned the vacuum, put in a new bag, but still no sucking power. Just dust coming from the rear vents where one of the filters is. Is the vacuum ruined, or is it a simple solution of buying a new filter?
ANSWER : Sounds like you need to buy a new motor. All that grit and dust will ruin a motor and I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did.
.This is where a vacuum that won’t run without a bag would have been nice. (Aerus for one)
