Tap the mop firmly on the floor a few times to get it steaming again. My mop is still not steaming. Try running a bit of vinegar through your mop. There may be a mineral build-up from your tap water.
The black screen issue on Steam can be fixed by updating the app, and graphics drive, clearing the browser cache, re-configuring Steam settings, deleting the Steam cache, and applying other fices. However, if none of the fixes work, you will finally have to reinstall Steam.

Make sure you only add water to the tank – chemicals or cleaning solutions (including vinegar) may damage the steam mop and could be unsafe. A steam mop uses hot water vapor to clean and sanitize hard floors, such as tile, linoleum, and hardwood floors, and other places and surfaces: walls, furniture, textile. It works by heating water in a tank, which is then released in the form of water vapor from the mop head onto the surface.
Once you plug it in, it starts to heat up the water. To activate the steam, you have to pump the handle up and down. We usually started mopping instead of doing the 10 to 15 pumps because with your natural mopping motion you will pump the Shark Steam Mop each time you go forward.
Hot and cold will work equally well. A steam shower typically does not use enough water to need the hot water line.
Steaming tips
Bring the water to a rolling boil (bubbles all over), and add food (fish, vegetables, meat) to the steamer in a single layer. The steamer should be about 2.5cm above the boiling water, and the steamer should be covered with a tight-fitting lid to retain the heat.
Heat builds up very quickly—a few seconds with some models. If the steam mop is left in one spot for too long, it can apply too much steam and heat to a small area and possibly damage the flooring.
We have had some customers who have had their steam cleaners for 5-8 years and are still going strong. For less expensive models like the steam mops or handhelds, you should probably expect more like 3-6 years of consistent use.
Some issues can be resolved by power cycling your Steam Link and computer. From your Steam Link startup screen, select Settings > Streaming > Advanced options(Y) > Reset to Defaults(Y).
To exit and restart Steam:
In the Steam client, press Steam on the top menu bar. From the menu, select the Exit option. Acknowledge any additional on-screen pop-ups or instructions. Once Steam has exited, re-launch the Steam app and sign in (if required).

Check if the mop is properly plugged into the outlet and turned on. If it is on and still not functioning, try resetting the mop by plugging it into a different outlet. Add water to the tank if it is empty then try selecting the `STEAM` setting once more.
Check for a clogged hose or filter; unclog the hose and replace the filter. Wait 45 minutes for the vacuum to cool; then plug in the vacuum. Turn the power switch to the “I-On” position to start the vacuum. If the vacuum still does not start, contact Customer Service at 1-800-798-7398.
Steam cleaning a floor should be your option for all routine maintenance washing. For most people, this means using it once a week, though it might need to be done more frequently in active families or during certain times of the year when more outdoor grime is carried in.
Most steam cleaners are designed to be used without detergent, so stick to water only with these. Some models, on the other hand, can be used with detergent – follow the manufacturer`s instructions.
What Should I Use? Good quality tap water. If you don`t have issues with hard water stains and buildup, your tap water is good.
