How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :

Vacuum cleaners are fairly simple machines. They need power to be transmitted to the vacuum to create a suction force that lifts debris. So, the usual areas that cause suction loss include the wrong height setting, stuck rollers, a faulty gasket, a broken vacuum belt, a filled bag, or a clogged hose.
For a vacuum cleaner to glide easily on a carpet, air must flow into the nozzle and through the machine. Block the air flow and the vacuum seals itself to the carpet and is hard to push. And, unfortunately, that`s what many consumers have discovered when their new carpeting is installed.
The most common cause of loss of suction is that the filters have become blocked. They may require cleaning or replacing. Another cause could be that the vacuum cleaner hose is blocked.
A vacuum cleaner, also known simply as a vacuum or a hoover, is a device that causes suction in order to remove dirt from floors, upholstery, draperies, and other surfaces.
Clog located in the vacuum hose

Turn the unit on and feel the suction at the end of the hose handle. If there is no or low suction, then the clog is in the hose. You can remove the clog by running a long, stiff object through the hose, such as a butter knife, starting at the wall end.

Broom and Dustpan

You can use a small dustpan or one with a handle to reduce the need to bend. Start at one end or corner of the carpet and work toward the other end to avoid missing areas. Use short, quick strokes. If debris begins to pile up, sweep it into the dustpan before you reach the end of the job.

The bulb suction device and the little succor device are used to remove secretions that have been coughed into the upper part of the trach tube, nose or mouth. Secretions need to be monitored during suctioning.
A suction machine, also known as an aspirator, is a type of medical device that is primarily used for removing obstructions — like mucus, saliva, blood, or secretions — from a person`s airway.
The most common problems found in vacuum cleaners are low suction force, excessive noise, burning smell, vacuum not turn on, and overheating. These issues can be fixed by either cleaning the device or replacing some parts of the device. At times, it is best to seek a professional to fix the cleaner effectively.
All vacuum cleaners operate based on air flowing from the opening at the cleaning head or tool, through the vacuum cleaner and the bag and/or filter system and then out the exhaust port. This airflow is created by the vacuum motor, which also may be referred to as the suction motor.
While extreme suction power may offer peace of mind to homeowners who want to feel confident that their vacuums are effective at sucking up dirt and germs, it can be very damaging to your carpet and should be avoided! For high pile and premium soft carpet, be sure to avoid vacuums with concentrated or sealed suction.
Use baking soda.

When you have some time while the car is idle, sprinkle the seats and carpet with baking soda. Spritz with a light spray of water and work the powder into the fibers. Allow it to sit for at least eight hours before vacuuming away odor-causing soil.

Carpets that still look dirty or have stains reappear after cleaning is a result of something called wicking. This is due to over wetting the carpet, the backing, and pad which causes them to return back to the surface once dry.
The short answer is that you should not use vinegar for carpet cleaning. There is truth to the idea you can use vinegar as a natural disinfectant for cleaning but it cannot remove dirt or soil from a surface or from carpet.
Vinegar, baking soda, and salt are common household items that can be used as carpet cleaners. Soften a carpet by mixing fabric softener, hot water, clear vinegar, and dishwashing detergent.
If there is a clog in the vacuum, you won`t have good suction and the vacuum won`t work. The clog can be in the vacuum head, the hose or where the hose meets the actual vacuum.
Open Suction: Suction is performed by means of disconnecting the patient ETT from the ventilation device during the procedure and then reconnecting it following the procedure.
Types of Vacuum Suction Regulators

There are three main types of medical vacuum regulators: continuous, continuous/intermittent, and continuous/high. Each of these regulators come in a variety of patient connection options and inlet connection options.

Suction pressure should be kept at less than 200 mmHg in adults. It should be set at 80 mmHg to 120 mmHg in neonates. [3] The catheter size used for suction should be less than 50% of the internal diameter of the endotracheal tube.
The vacuum cleaner picks up dirt by suction. The octopus grasps things using suction.
Manual Foot Suction Machine are appliances that are used to remove substances such as blood, saliva, mucus, and vomit from a person`s airway. A foot suction apparatus can prevent pulmonary aspiration and facilitate breathing.
Putting in the incorrect amount of oil, putting in the wrong type of oil, and oil contamination can all cause the pump to not reach full vacuum. For this reason, you must check the oil regularly to ensure that it is not only clean, but also properly filled.
Connect a tachometer and vacuum gauge to a none regulated vacuum source on the engine. Disconnect and plug fuel vapor canister vacuum lines. Start engine and run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Note the vacuum gauge reading and any variations in the pointer movement at idle and 2000 RPM.

ANSWER : We had exactly the same problem with our Animal. After the motor was replaced under warranty a different engineer came out and diagnosed it as the cyclone chamber itself being clogged.(the bit with the purple cylinders on it). This is completely unserviceable and it too was replaced under warranty – along with a second motor! Not the answer you wanted I’m sure but you’re wasting your time looking for a problem elsewhere. Ultimately the motor is pulling through a clogged chamber and you will burn it out! Hope this helps…

I have a Sony XDRS100CD with DAB radio. The DAB radio has stopped working although I can still use the CD and get FM radio. The unit has a readout on the front that usually shows the time and this stopped working too, presumably because it got the time via the DAB radio.

Our Bissell Cleanview II 3576M does a great job except that the filter cup below the dirt cup gets full very fast and the dirt cup barely has anything in it. To clean the whole house, I have to empty the dirt cup and clean the filter several times. It didn’t use to work this way. It seems like something is missing, a gasket or seal maybe? I don’t think dirt, hair and debris should be going straight to the lower cup and bypassing the upper. I looked at the user guide but can’t see why it’s happen
