How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

Not Plugged In You will notice a blinking blue light on the front of the device when plugged in correctly. If the light fails to come on then try to plug into a different outlet.
If it is on and still not functioning, try resetting the mop by plugging it into a different outlet. Add water to the tank if it is empty then try selecting the `STEAM` setting once more. Often times being unable to select certain settings is indication of a malfunctioning power socket, malfunctioning buttons.
Check to see if there is water in the water tank. If there isn`t, unscrew the water tank cap and use the filling flask to pour distilled water into the tank until it reaches the fill line. Replace the water tank cap and tighten. Power the device on, wait about 30 seconds for the water to heat up, and then try again.
A flashing red light
On many Shark vacuums, that same red light may flash intermittently instead of remaining solid. While this could be an indication that the brush roll is jammed up, a flashing red light usually means that your Shark vac is overheating.
The lights will flash when the unit is charging, with 1 light representing it has a low charge, while 3 lights represents the unit is fully charged. When the unit is in use, the number of illuminated lights will go down as the battery becomes depleted.
Manually turn your shark robot upside, find and press the power button for about 10 seconds, give it some 10 – 15 seconds, then turn it back on. Your shark robot will reboot and reset in the process. You can also use the Shark Clean app to factory reset your shark robot.
I used baking soda to fix the problem. Mix water with a teaspoon of baking soda in a bowl, and then pour the mixture into the water tank (fill up to the brim). Then, turn on the steam and hold the steamer upside down, with the nozzle AWAY FROM YOU. Once the light turns green, turn on the steam.
Users find the robot unresponsive and try putting the bot in its charger to give the battery a boost, but when the robot vacuum is off, it won`t always charge. Check the manual switch, and make sure it`s in the on position. Sometimes, this easy fix is all you need. Step 2: Check if you need to manually place the vac.
Heating Element. A common cause to your cleaner not producing steam can be a failed heating element. As the heater is used to heat up the water, if that has ruptured or burnt out your steam cleaner will not produce any steam. With the water tank filled and switched on the steamer should sound like a boiling kettle.
Once you plug it in, it starts to heat up the water. To activate the steam, you have to pump the handle up and down. We usually started mopping instead of doing the 10 to 15 pumps because with your natural mopping motion you will pump the Shark Steam Mop each time you go forward.

Sometimes the battery may have gotten dirty or slipped away from its contacts inside the Shark robot vacuum. Cleaning and repositioning it may fix your problem. But if it`s an old battery or there are clear signs of damage, you should order a replacement battery that matches your model.
