How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

If your vacuum was working fine and then suddenly shut off, it may have overheated. Most vacuums are equipped with a thermal protector safety switch that won`t allow the motor to run when it becomes overheated. You will need to wait for 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on your machine, to try again.
A little bit of water can do wonders for boosting a suction cup`s grip. Using warm water, rinse the whole cup so it softens it up. Shake the drops of water off the cup quickly and then put it up on the wall. That can often do the trick.
If you`ve recently remodeled, don`t vacuum up sanding residue or other tiny particles — you`ll need to use a more durable machine (like a shop vac) instead. “Fine dust will clog the filters or bag right away,” says Forte, and then the machine might begin spewing dust back into the air.

Problem: Vacuum motor won’t turn on. The power head operates, but nothing from the vacuum. Have checked all areas of airflow: hose, bag, motor filter and hepa filter. All are fine. Have checked and rechecked all electrical connections, all seem to be in working order. Vacuum hasn’t run for a week or so, so it’s not the thermal protector, unless it’s defective. Part # KC86WBZR3000…Cost is $6.99. I would remove and inspect for burnt components, or broken wires…Then clean connections both male/female using an eraser, toothbrush and alcohol…Using a bright light and a magnifying glass inspect solder joints for “bridges” or cold joints. If you detect a problem during this procedure (to the exclusion of burnt components) fix, reassemble, and test. If problem still persist: Order a new part.

There are two motor actions with this vacuum, 1) the vacuum suction, and 2) the beater bar. The action of the beater bar is that motor is supposed to automatically shut off when the handle is in the complete vertical position assuming the vacuum is stationary, but then turn on when the handle is tilted toward the floor, assuming the vacuum is moving back and forth.
The beater bar motor turn-on mechan
Normally when the motor is easily moved back and forth means that it have a proper lubrication, proper alignment and no clogs.
When the motor and the belt is OK the problem could be on electrical wiring and switch.
If found electrical switch burned out you need to replaced it because when the switch is burn the contact of that switch is open even you turn it ON.that’s why the motor is not function because the voltage is not pass through the circuit because of open switch. You need to replaced it.
And check some fuses if any and other burned electrical wire.Replaced it also.
