If a wheel cannot be turned by hand, place your s Series Roomba on the floor and manually push your s Series Roomba backwards and forwards, about 1 ft (0.3 m). If compressed air is available, gently blow air into the wheel well.
Overview. Error 1 (left) means Roomba is on an obstacle or an uneven surface and the left wheel is stuck. If this is the case, lift Roomba off the floor, place it in the center of the room and restart the clean cycle. If this error occurred on a flat surface, check the wheels for obstructions.
Introduction. The front caster wheel is the wheel that leads the Roomba over all of the dirt and debris so that the vacuum can pick it up.
Why does a Roomba go in circles? It`s usually a problem with sensors or with mechanical movement. While spinning in circles may look alarming, it`s rarely a permanent problem, although your robovac definitely needs some care before it`s ready to resume duty again.
The caster wheel on your Roomba isn`t designed to last forever. iRobot recommends replacing it once a year.
Error 1 (right) means Roomba® is on an obstacle or an uneven surface and the right wheel is stuck. If this is the case, lift Roomba® off the floor, place it in the center of the room, and restart the clean cycle. If this error occurred on a flat surface, check the wheels for obstructions.
Error 7 means the side wheels cannot turn. This can happen if Roomba i Series was started on an uneven surface or got stuck on an obstacle. If this is the case, lift Roomba off the floor and place it in the center of the room and restart the clean cycle. Use Dual Mode Virtual Wall® Barriers to block off problem areas.
Error five (5) indicates that one or both of the side wheels cannot turn. Check the side wheels for obstructions. Push the wheels up and down several times and shake out any loose debris that may be trapped in the wheel well.
The Roomba i series are equipped with tracking sensors, so instead of random navigation around your home, the i series can clean bare floors and carpeting in neat, straight lines, says the brand.
Most owners believe that running their robot vacuums four times per week is sufficient to keep the floors dust-free. However, if you have children or pets, you should use your robot vacuum more frequently. Daily vacuuming is recommended if you suffer from seasonal allergies.
It does depend on usage and general maintenance (cleaning off rubber extractors, tapping out the filter, rinsing out the bin) but generally speaking you won`t need to replace these parts very often. Filters tend to last 3-4 months, rollers generally 9 months or so in average homes.
Error seven (7) means the Side Wheels cannot turn. This can happen if your j series robot was started on an uneven surface or got stuck on an obstacle. If this is the case, lift your Roomba® off the floor and place it in the center of the room and restart the clean cycle.
As mentioned before the minimum number of wheels required for static stability is two. A robot with a two wheeled differential drive can achieve stability if the centre of mass is below the wheel axle or if there is a third point of contact striking the floor.
A: Yes. I use about 10-20% vinegar and distilled water. Works great and the slight smell dissipates within minutes once it dries.
“Charging Error Eleven (11)” means there is a communications issue between the battery and the robot. Removing and re-installing the battery usually resolves the issue. If the error persists, please contact iRobot Customer Care.
Graphite is considered to have excellent lubricating properties where moisture (water vapor) is available since its shear strength is dependent on absorbed gases and at low (vacuum) levels, these gases desorb and the coefficient of friction dramatically rises.
For best grease distribution, the grease should be injected while the brush motor is running. This can be accomplished by putting the Roomba into diagnostic mode and sequencing to test 11; Main-Brushes Motor test. With the motor running, slowly inject the grease.
Oiling your wheel should be part of a regular maintenance routine. The spinning wheel should be free of dust, dirt, old grease, fiber, and debris before you apply a fresh coat of oil or other lubricant to the various parts mentioned below. Spinning wheels vary in their needs and frequency of maintenance.
Caster misalignment can be caused by the same kind of problems that cause camber misalignment: a bent spindle, mislocated strut tower, bent strut, worn or collapsed control arm bushing, bent control arm, or a weak or broken spring.
Error 2 means the rubber brushes in your Roomba are clogged and need to be cleaned.
Roomba® Charging Error 4

Charging errors four (4) and five (5) mean that electrical current is not reaching the robot. A common cause is debris on the Home Base charging contacts. Please clean the charging contacts to clear this error. Note: Damaged contacts could also prevent your robot from charging.

One of the most neglected parts of a robot vacuum is the wheel. For Roomba robots, there are three – a caster and two side wheels.
Made by iRobot, these robotic vacuum cleaners use sensors to detect walls and items in a room, becoming smarter the more frequently they clean.
If the LED on the Clean Base is solid red, this means the bag in the Clean Base™ Charging Station + Automatic Dirt Disposal is full.

Oreck XL How to remove rear wheel. Removed all viewable hair, thread, etc., but one wheel is still hard to turn. I think there’s hair stuck inside the wheel core. Can I remove the wheel & take it off the metal post?
ANSWER : You can take a medium size flathead screwdriver and slide it in beside the wheel and under the pin. Then pry carefully on one side and then the other it will start to come out but work both sides alternately so you won’t put too much pressure on the plastic. Once it is out you can clean it and put it back in. Line up the pin and use a blunt end tool like a punch to tap it back in. You can use the same screwdriver but don’t hit it too hard. You can tell when it is in all the way when it bottoms out. Make sure you look closely at it before you take it out so you will know what it is suppose to look like.

Infinity Vaccum by Shark, model number NV31COS, will not start. The vacuum was running just fine until it grabbed the edge of a curtain. Turned it off to release the suction.
