How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

As we noted above, the Cinetic Big Ball Animal and the Animal+Allergy are exactly the same vacuum; they only differ in accessories. In addition to the turbine, combination, and stair tools in the Animal, the Animal+Allergy adds a soft brush, a reach tool, a multi-angle brush, and a mattress tool.
Most cases of a jammed or stuck brush bar are quick and easy to fix, simply pulling the debris gently from the brush bar. Alternatively, if you need to clear a problematic blockage, you can take the brush bar out of the housing easily, for quick maintenance.
A Dyson Turbine head includes a turbine mechanism which uses the vacuum`s suction power the brush bar. The Motorhead is similar in overall design, but includes a separate electric motor to drive the brush bar instead of a turbine.
Motorised brush bar, concentrated in a smaller head to remove stubborn dirt from mattresses, upholstery and stairs.
The Dyson soft roller head (Fluffy) is specially made for hardwood floors and coated with antistatic carbon fibre filaments removes dirt and fine debris. Use the right accessories. While it may seem like an effort to change tools mid-vacuum, this will help you remove dust you can see, and dust you can`t.
The Dyson Omni-glide™ is the first omnidirectional Fluffy™ cleaner head that floats on four 360° stabilising castors which allow it to move effortlessly in all directions and into tight spaces.
If your vacuum`s brush bar is not turning, the bar may be clogged from hair and other debris. Ensure that the brushbar button, which is gray and located next to the power button, is turned on. If this is not the issue, then the brushbar itself may be damaged or stuck.
A Dyson vacuum cleaner has a lifespan of around 10 years. This is considerably longer than most other vacuums. So, if you`re looking for a high-quality vacuum cleaner that will last you for a long time, a Dyson could be a good choice. However, remember that Dyson vacuums are expensive.
The Dyson V10 cordless is a 2-in-1 vacuum that doubles as a stick vacuum as well as a portable handheld, which works great for cleaning your car. The V10 is a part of the Dyson V-series and is currently the most advanced model.
The type of hydropower turbine selected for a project is based on the height of standing water—referred to as “head”—and the flow, or volume of water over time, at the site.
It will last up to 30 minutes with the fluffy head attached, up to 25 minutes with the traditional spinning brush head or seven minutes when in maximum suction mode.
Removes stubborn, stuck-on hair from carpets, cushions, drapes and bedding. Adjusts across uneven surfaces. Automatically adjusts to uneven surfaces, like cushions and upholstery covers. Edge-to-edge cleaning.
Just buy it. If you have hard surfaces, this attachment is a game changer and well worth the month, even if it`s a little ouchy to have to spend even more money on your Dyson. Clean hard floors better, faster. Struggles with large debris.
Premium quality vacuum cleaner floor head for all Ducted / central system Quality floor tool ideal for all carpets and hard floor surfaces.
Which Dyson vacuum is the most powerful? In terms of sheer suction power, the Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra is the most powerful option in Dyson`s current lineup, offering 290 AW, or air watts, of suction power. Among the brand`s cordless stick vacuums, the Dyson V15 Detect is the most powerful, with a rating of 230 AW.
The Double Fluffy™ cleaner head is engineered for hard floors only. For cleaning carpets or soft floor coverings, you can use the Mini motorised tool.
The only significant difference between the Fluffy and Absolute is the presence (or absence) of a direct drive motor head. Everything else–suction, battery life, and accessories–is exactly the same. The importance of the motorized head will depend entirely on how you plan on using your vacuum.
If you find that your machine is turning off intermittently, the filter in your vacuum is most likely full and covering the ventilation system. Remove the filter, then empty and wash it. Allow the filter to dry for at least 24 hours, or until it is completely dry.
Brush Head Bearings Are Clogged or Have Failed

These are symptoms of bad or dirty bearings. You should remove the brush roll or rolls from the vacuum. Check to see that the bearings at the end of the brush roll allow it to spin freely. Make sure that there is no hair trapped in the bearings.

To reset the Brush bar press the Brush bar control button twice or switch the machine off and back on. Please note: In normal use, the Brush bar automatically turns off when the machine is upright and automatically turns on when the machine is in the vacuuming position.
First thing to try is empty your bin and make sure there are no blockages, if that doesn`t solve it then remove the brushbar and then try switching your Dyson back on again. If the noise is normal again then it is your brushbar or possibly clutch if applicable.
Dyson invested £2.5 billion in research and development.

While you might feel that this is the reason their products are expensive, you`re highly mistaken. This investment was mainly to accommodate a centre for their 1,200 employees, 22 laboratories, prototyping space, and areas for collaborative work.

A WARNING TO ALL DYSON USERS: Do not under any circumstances vacuum up any fine white powders/particles with your Dyson vacuum. It will kill the motor and it is NOT covered under the warranty. This includes things like white powder carpet cleaners (carpet fresh, etc), baby powder, baking soda, cornstarch, etc.
Pneumatic cleaner head – Automatically self-adjusts to seal in suction across all floors, maximising dust removal without the hassle of switching or adjusting cleaner heads. Gets back up when knocked over – Conventional barrel vacuums can fall over.

Dirt devil vacuum cleaner–trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting –is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up –unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum… Do I need or can I replace the spinning brush on the bottom of the vacuum so it kicks up and vacuums

I had the vacuum cleaner question about the canister and the wand/powerhead… the Kenmore Progressive Vacuum canister model 116.25812 and the canister not powering off without unplugging the vacuum. The solution I received that they both run on their own switch so it is normal makes sense. However, is there a power switch on the canister anywhere? The only way for the canister to be turned off is by unplugging it. Any ideas? One would think there would be a switch. I am new to fixya and hope
ANSWER : Hi. On some models, one switch controls all of the power. Your issue, which is no working switch is almost certainly a blown triac on the circuit board in the canister – kenmore part number KC86WBZRZ000

Looks like a common fault with this particular model judging by the number of complaints on the web.
.
.Take it to your local vacuum repair shop and they should be able to fix it for a nominal fee.
