Having trouble looking for your machine`s serial number / model number? You will usually find the information located on the back of your machine. Your machine`s serial number is a unique 9-digit number and is a very important part of the warranty process with any Janome product.
One of the first things you should do is check to see if the machine is threaded properly and into the tension discs and take-up lever. If that doesn`t solve the problem, try re-threading the machine correctly and testing it out again. Finally, if all else fails, contact an authorized service center for help.
Janome Sewing Machine Co. Ltd was founded in 1921 as Japan`s first domestic sewing machine manufacturer. It was founded by Yosaku Ose as the `Pine Sewing Machine Factory` with Shigeru Kamematsu and Shoichi Tobimatsu in Takinogwa, Japan.
Janome (株式会社ジャノメ, Kabushiki-gaisha Janome, JANOME Corporation) is a Japanese company that produces sewing machines, with manufacturing plants in Japan, Taiwan and Thailand.
The standard tension is 4. Janome recommends a range of 2 – 6 for straight stitches.
Janome machines are fantastic at any level but can be more pricey than other brands out there. However, Janome products are worth the higher price tag with the always exceptional build quality and easy-use design.
If your bobbin thread isn`t catching all of the time, the timing on your machine may be out of sync with the needle thread. This is something that should really be looked at by a qualified sewing machine technician.
Janome: Janome is a Japanese company with a long and rich history. For many years their machines were branded New Home in the U.S. market. You will also find Janome built machines branded under the Necchi, Elna, and Juki nameplates. Janome also makes specific models for Baby Lock, and Bernette.
Georg Michael Pfaff made the first PFAFF® sewing machine in Kaiserslautern, Germany at the start of the industrial revolution.
Additionally, James are more sturdy than Berninas and tend to be less expensive. However, Berninas can sew more intricate stitches than Janomes and often have more features overall. Ultimately, it is up to the individual shopper as to which machine they prefer for their specific needs.
Janome America, Inc. (JAI) is a distributor of household and computerized sewing machines; a subsidiary of Janome Sewing Machine Company, Tokyo, Japan, who are one of the world`s largest manufacturers of home sewing machines and leaders and innovators in the home sewing industry.
Most sewing is done in the 2.0 to 2.5 range. If you are foundation paper piecing, you may want to decrease your stitch length so that the paper tears away easier. Top stitching and quilting are usually done in the 3.0 to 3.5 range. Basting and gathering stitches are the longest, from 4.0 – 5.0.
A backstitch is one of the strongest hand sewing stitches. The backstitch gets its name because the needle goes into the fabric behind the previous stitch. On the contrary, with a running stitch, the needle simply passes through the fabric an even distance in front of the previous stitch.
Backstitch is the strongest stitch that you can sew by hand. This makes it one of the top stitches that you should learn how to work for your own sewing projects. ⭐ Backstitch is a variation of a straight stitch.
Janome`s HD5000 Black Edition is our top overall sewing machine pick for the average home seamstress and quilter. Made from a sturdy, heavy-duty aluminum body and outfitted with a hard, snap-on cover, it`s able to regularly tackle tougher fabrics and still last for years and years.
In general, sewing machines are known to last well over five years and sometimes as long as 25 years. However, the conditions that the sewing machine is exposed to will make a huge difference in its lifespan.
Check to see if your upper tension is too tight. Standard tension setting is 4. – Your thread could be caught on something between the needle and your spool of thread if so, your thread will be too tight for the needle to pick up the bobbin thread. – Make sure that the upper thread is threaded properly.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.
.
.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.

Dirt devil vacuum cleaner–trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting –is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up –unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum… Do I need or can I replace the spinning brush on the bottom of the vacuum so it kicks up and vacuums
ANSWER : Try replacing the belt. Rubber belts stretch out after about a year.

Unbeknownst to me, someone took the bag out of my Kenmore Progressive vacuum and failed to replace it. I have been vacuuming without a bag for months, and today the vacuum stopped sucking. When I opened up the front to replace the bag, tons of dirt and dust came pouring out. I thoroughly cleaned the vacuum, put in a new bag, but still no sucking power. Just dust coming from the rear vents where one of the filters is. Is the vacuum ruined, or is it a simple solution of buying a new filter?
ANSWER : Sounds like you need to buy a new motor. All that grit and dust will ruin a motor and I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did.
.This is where a vacuum that won’t run without a bag would have been nice. (Aerus for one)
