The Vacuum will not Stand Upright
Locate the u-bend cover, press the yellow release button, and look for any possible blockages. These blockages may be preventing the machine from locking in its upright position as well as reclining when already locked. See below link for visual guides.

Press the button on the bin handle to detach the bin from your machine. Push your handle into the upright position. Push your handle firmly forward and listen for two clicks to lock in upright position. The stabiliser wheels will drop into position when the handle is locked in the upright position.
It sounds simple but a dead battery is the most common cause of the vacuum powering down while in use. Charge the vacuum battery for a minimum of 2 hours. After the battery is fully charged, power on the device.
A 1/2 inch height adjustment should resolve this and be easily added by Dyson. Put a flip switch on the vacuum head itself that raises it up higher off the carpet.

For a vacuum cleaner to glide easily on a carpet, air must flow into the nozzle and through the machine. Block the air flow and the vacuum seals itself to the carpet and is hard to push. And, unfortunately, that`s what many consumers have discovered when their new carpeting is installed.
It really does have a suction feature complete with a little compartment for anything it sucks up that you can empty. My only issue with this is that is doesn`t stand up by itself unless you really work to balance it.
A Dyson vacuum cleaner has a lifespan of around 10 years. This is considerably longer than most other vacuums. So, if you`re looking for a high-quality vacuum cleaner that will last you for a long time, a Dyson could be a good choice. However, remember that Dyson vacuums are expensive.
I can assure you that air coming out of the Ball is a normal feature of the machine, as this is where HEPA-filtered air is returned to the room. The exhaust air will often feel warm as it will have passed through the motor.
If the vacuum does not stand on its own, the vacuum`s latch may be broken. Call customer service to inquire about latch replacement options. Assuming if you leave it for an hour and come back to it that it works again you have an airflow issue. This machine will cut out if the motor gets too hot. The likely causes are 1. Filters – take them out and give a good clean once dry you can try them again. 2. Blockage – Remove your u-bend and the blockage removal access check for an obstruction.3. Radix assembly is blocked. I will post a link to a YouTube video showing how to address this as it is a bit more difficult.
If your machine wont turn back on after a rest then your options are 1. Cord problem (most likely)2. Switch (unlikely)3. Motor

ANSWER : DC07s have two belts – one connects the output of the motor to the clutch, the other connects the clutch to the brush bar.
I suspect the belt you are to refering to is the one from the clutch to the brush bar. Unfortuenately the other belt is hidden under a plastic cover, so you cant see if it is okay or not without some dismantling. This cover is not easy to remove and requires a Torx driver to under the securing screws.
Have a look at www.dysonmedic.com, but unless you have access to such a tool, probably time to call Dyson or a Vacuum repairer.
