The Vax 6131T is capable of dry vacuuming, carpet cleaning and can also pick up spills.
The level you set your vacuum depends on the height of your carpet. For bare floors, use the lowest or bare floor setting, for short and medium pile carpets use a medium setting and finally, for plush carpets use the highest setting.
Not only powerful, Vax Carpet Cleaners have been designed to be easy to manoeuvre, even when filled with water, making carpet washing quick and easy. Short on time?
Even if your carpets don`t look visibly dirty, experts reckon that you should get them cleaned professionally at least once a year. This will help to remove all the visible dirt as well as those particles hiding deep inside carpet fibres that you can`t see.
Commonly known as steam carpet cleaning, hot water extraction cleaning use high pressured hot water to agitate the carpet fibre and dissolve dirt in the carpet. An average sized carpeted office of 3000 sq ft would normally take about 2 hours to clean and will take at least 4 hours to dry.
Is vacuuming alone good enough to clean your carpets? Vacuums are great at picking up surface dirt on carpets & upholstery along with the loose, dry, debris that floats in between carpet fibres.
Vacuum If Necessary

One of your first questions for carpet cleaners should be, “Do I need to vacuum?” Your carpet cleaners may prefer to handle all steps on their own, including the initial vacuum. Others encourage a pre-visit pass with the vacuum to check for loose items or save time during their visit.

If your Vax machine has 1 tank for both clean water and carpet cleaner solution, you only need to use 10ml of Dirtbusters Extraction Machine Liquid per Litre of water. E.g. if your tank holds 2.7 Litres, you would use 27ml of solution and fill the rest of the tank with clean, warm water.
While extreme suction power may offer peace of mind to homeowners who want to feel confident that their vacuums are effective at sucking up dirt and germs, it can be very damaging to your carpet and should be avoided! For high pile and premium soft carpet, be sure to avoid vacuums with concentrated or sealed suction.
Check to make sure you are using the appropriate setting. For example, if your vacuum is set to “bare floor” and you are trying to vacuum shag carpet, there simply is not enough room for the brush to rotate properly or for air to flow. With the proper height setting, your vacuum should move easily.
Using a Vax carpet washer will make your carpets, rugs and upholstery look and feel like new, not to mention smell great! No job is too big or too small and your carpets will be dry in no time. They`re the perfect addition to every household.
In testing the Vax Blade 4 performed very well. It cleaned 88% of flour from short pile carpet and 96% from hard floors. That`s some way better than even the Dyson V8, which removed 80% and 92% of flour on those surfaces.
You should clean your carpet at least every 12 months to remove dirt, grime, and allergens. However, this schedule can vary depending on several factors in your household. If you have children or pets, you might shampoo your carpets more regularly.
We recommend deep cleaning your carpets and rugs at least twice a year, however, if you have pets, kids or a smoking habit, we recommend deep cleaning every quarter.
In the end, you`ll be able to step on the carpet comfortably after a full 24 hours. If you really need to walk across the carpet, make sure that you`re wearing a clean pair of socks and no shoes from the outside. You should also wait the full 24 hours until you put all of your furniture back.
A: It has an indefinite shelf life but otherwise how long it lasts depends upon how much you use it. For example a lounge carpet, hall carpet and two or three rugs would use about half a 1.4Litre bottle.
Can you use other carpet shampoo solutions in a Vax machine? One of the most popular questions we get asked is if our carpet cleaning solutions can be used in a Vax machine. The answer – YES, they can!
Cleaning Hard Floors

Using the Glide with Vax ONEPWR Multi Floor solution kills 99.9% of bacteria*. The Vax ONEPWR Multi Floor solution can also be used with the Vax ONEPWR SpotlessGo Cordless Spot Washer to clean unexpected spills on your carpets, hard floors, upholstery or car interior.

There are five main carpet cleaning methods. They are: Hot Water Extraction – Steam Cleaning. Carpet Shampooing.
There are four major steps in the maintenance process: Stripping, Scrubbing and Cleaning, Buffing and Polishing, and Burnishing. Understanding each step and the specific floor pads involved is crucial to achieving the best appearance and extending the life of the floor.
Your carpet will be only slightly damp to the touch after your cleaning. Most carpets typically need 6-10 hours to dry completely. However, it could take up to 24 hours to dry depending on the time of year your carpets are cleaned, and the air circulation, humidity and temperature in your home.
Vacuum Carpet Frequently

According to Shaw Floors, manufacturer of carpet, vinyl, hardwood and laminate flooring, you should vacuum the traffic lanes in high-traffic areas daily and the entire area twice a week. For rooms with light traffic flow, vacuum the traffic lanes twice a week and the entire area once.

While you should clean some individual parts more often, the Vacuum Experts say it`s a good rule of thumb to take apart the entire vacuum and scrub it down about once a year.
A carpet shampooer will treat the surface of your carpet. A carpet steam cleaner uses heat to extract the dirt from the fibers. Decide how deep of a clean you require when choosing between shampoo carpet cleaning vs. steam cleaning.

My carpet cleaner (bissell proheat plus) is not steaming, dispensing cleaner. Seems like there’s a little thingy that should be spinning or turning….. When I work a small area of carpet, it just leaves behind dry blobs of carpet gunk like pet hair. I had to use a carpet sweeper to clean up. FYI – I filled the cleaning fluid container and after trying to clean the carpet, it did empty out but the carpet isn’t wet. Any tips? The manual doesn’t help.
ANSWER : You need to replace the pump belt. Here is the belt you need:

I have a Bissell Pro 2x carpet cleaner. The water heats properly as well as spraying the cleaning product. However, when I go to suction the water from the carpets, the 2 in 1 water tank bladder works properly but there is no dirty water outside the bladder. I have only used this carpet cleaner ~ 5 times and in the beginning I had to empty the suctioned water quite frequently as it was dirty and it could not not hold any more water. So I have done 1 room and all the dirt remains in the carpet
ANSWER : Check that the suction cone is not blocked. Check that the filter or hose to the bladder isn’t blocked as well.

We have a Bissell Proheat Cleanshot 2X Model 9500 Steam carpet cleaner. The first time we used it things were great. The second time we used it it left tracks in the carpet. We have no idea what caused this. We tried using the machine on an entirely different carpet and it did the same thing. After vacuuming the carpet about 10 or 12 times, the tracks are still embedded in the carpet – HELP!!!! We’re read and reread the manual and contacted customer service and received no help.
ANSWER : First things first. It’s only the second time you have used the machine, so it must be fairly new. If you have a receipt and the unit is less than a year old you should take it to an authorized Bissell repair center and have the machine inspected under warranty.
.
.Otherwise, The jets on this unit clog easily, there are two of them and you can locate them under the recovery tank towards the front of the machine, and blow them out with an air compressor. To prevent the jets from clogging in the future make sure to flush all shampoo out of the machine with clean water when done using it. That is most likely your problem.
.
.If it is leaving black streaks on your carpet it could be coming from a burnt belt or melted brushroller part, in which case inspect the belts and brushrollers and replace the damaged pieces.
.
.I hope this helped

.Good Luck

Carpet stained recently cleaned my cream coloured carpet in my entrance hall with a carpet cleaning product, wet foamy spray type, ran out of this and found a part bottle of a different brand in my cupboard, used this to finish off however must be some sort of reaction and carpet gone a greenish colour i think (colour blind sorry ) any idea’s of any product that might restore my carpet, will try anything, nothing to loose. thank you Peter McGurk Goole East Yorks
ANSWER : Ok in the future try to have carpet cleaned only by a pro. For spot cleaning use white paper towels or dish towels and warm water. (ONLY WHITE) 99% of fabric is white and then dyed to color and if you use a color cloth you might pull the dye from the cloth into the carpet. Now what you can try is your basic dishwashing detergent like electrosal with warm water and a dishtowel. little at a time try to blot not rub. try AFTA if that doesnt work. wet the rag first with warm water. pour the afta on the wet rag not on the carpet.

Bissell carpet cleaner won’t spray water or cleaner
ANSWER : If I may! In most cases the heater is clogged. It might be clogged with soap that has harden over time. You need to take the handle apart. You will see a metal box(thats the heater) besides the wires there are two tubes connected to the heater. remove the tubes but label or watch which tube goes where. now turn the heater upside down. there are 6 screws on the side and 1 in the middle. remove them carefully. the 6 on the side have a small gaskets under them..you don’t want to lose them. the 1 in the middle has no gasket, now the bottom plate of the heater can be taken off (there is a gasket with that plate …be careful . you will now see the long channels inside the heater and need to clean it. the holes where the tubes where connected have to be clean also but carefully. the metal is soft.so it bends. now put it all back. hope this helps. if you want to keep this from happening.the best way is to run clear water after you are done.this will remove any soap in the machine which will harden after the machine drys out. hope I helped .

and to mr. reddevil6 I am learning lots from you. Thanks
