Why is the steam mop not producing steam/detergent? There may be no water in water tank, check the water tank has water. Check the water tank is securely fitted and the hard water filter is in place. Hard water filter may be blocked and need to be replaced.
Putting detergent into the water tank can cause damage to the steam mop. * Calls are charged at the standard local rate.
Make sure this is initially set to the highest setting – you can always then reduce the velocity of the steam as you need during use. Ensure that your water tank cap is securely fitted. The cap on most cleaner`s tanks help to maintain the pressure and seal the steam in the unit, so need to be securely fastened.
Heating Element. A common cause to your cleaner not producing steam can be a failed heating element. As the heater is used to heat up the water, if that has ruptured or burnt out your steam cleaner will not produce any steam. With the water tank filled and switched on the steamer should sound like a boiling kettle.
When the detergent you added to your washing cycle is not dispensed completely into the washer tub, it may be caused by three major reasons: the type of detergent you are using, the amount of detergent you applied, a maintenance related issue.
Your Vax carpet cleaner may not be picking up water because the machine has picked up too much grime, and has become blocked up. Check around the head of the carpet cleaner for anything obvious that might make the suction on the Vax weaker, or look for clumps of hair that could be caught in the bristles.
Using Citrus Burst Steam Detergent with your Vax steam + detergent cleaner will help break down grease and grime faster than steam alone, whilst killing 99.9% of harmful bacteria*.
– Can be used as a detergent additive to your water or as a ready to use in place of water. Simply fill your water container on the steam mop or Mix 50ml simply steam detergent with 200ml water or 1 part simply steam with 4 parts water.
The spray tip may be clogged. Use a paperclip and insert it into the spray tip to remove a clog. Now plug back in, making sure you are using a working outlet. You will know, as the Ready light will begin to blink when plugged in.
Inspired Steam Mop and Steam Machine Descaler is ideal to remove built up minerals and limescale deposits from you Steam Machine system. Using Inspired Steam Mop and Steam Machine Descaler will ensure your system works more efficiently and will help it to last longer.
The Cleaning Nozzle is clogged

Calcium and other minerals may build up in the nozzle, so you may need to clean the nozzle in order to produce steam. To do this, either use the nozzle cleaner provided with the Steam Pocket Mop, or use a straightened-out paper clip.

You may not be using enough detergent. You may be using a reduced-foam type of detergent. Heavily soiled laundry can reduce the amount of foam. Larger amounts of laundry can also reduce the amount of foam.
WHY WON`T THE MACHINE PICK UP? The float in the dirty water tank may have been activated. Empty the dirty water tank and wait for the float to settle before re-starting the machine.
Soap only lifts dirt and oil into water, making them suspend in water. Therefore, the more soap you use, the more your mop gets saturated with dirt. So, if you do not remove all the soapy water from the floor, the dirt remains, forming streaks on the floor.
If you`re wondering whether you can put detergent in your steam mop, the answer is yes! However, you`ll want to use a mild detergent and not too much of it. You`ll also want to make sure that you rinse the floor well after using the detergent.
Some people learn the hard way by putting fabric softener in their clothing steamers to give it a fresh odor in the process. If a fresh scent is what you`re going for, we`d recommend using our Fabric Facial.
The short answer is that you should not use vinegar for carpet cleaning. There is truth to the idea you can use vinegar as a natural disinfectant for cleaning but it cannot remove dirt or soil from a surface or from carpet.
Steam mops use hot water to loosen and remove dirt, grime, and other buildup from your floors.

First, check to make sure the unit is plugged in and is in a working outlet. Next, check to make sure there is water in the tank. It is very important to make sure you are ONLY using water to fill the tank. Other solutions may cause breakdown of the gasket and/or other parts of the machine.
If you have a steam iron, another way to clean out the iron steam vents is to fill the water reservoir with a mixture of half distilled white vinegar and half water. Then grab an old cloth or towel, and iron and steam it. As you steam, residue will come out of the vents along with the vinegar.
Use as a descaler

Limescale can be easily dissolved using a mild acid solution, such as diluted white vinegar. For example, when descaling a kettle, simply fill the kettle with equal parts vinegar and water and leave for an hour before boiling and then letting stand for another 20 minutes.

All steam cleaners work best with distilled water. “I don`t think people realize that you can cause the steamer to stop working if you use the incorrect water,” says Kellsie Zapata, the owner of Zapata`s Cleaning Services. “The minerals in tap water will corrode the inside of your machine.”

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.
.
.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.

Shark Steam Mop – Gray/ Purple Vacuum: shark steam mop has water, but there is no steam….
ANSWER : I tried running vinegar through as you would a coffee pot to get rid of hard water scales. This did not work. Then I noticed that the light behind the shark decal on the front of the machine was going off and on. And sure enough as I moved the cord around the light would come off and on. Looking closer I could see the the heat had melted thru some of the cord.I bought mine at Target before xmas last year, throwing away the sales slip after several months so I guess there is nothing I can do about it.

My steam pocket mop seems clogged. Steam does not come out of the mop head. The clog appears to be in the rectangular mop head. The triangular head still works fine. I’ve tried soaking it in hot water and soaking it with cleaning solutions. They have not worked. If I blow into the connection piece, no air goes through. That’s what leads me to believe there is a clog. If you can help, please do. I like the product and haven’t been able to use it for awhile because of this. Thanks.
ANSWER : I had the same issue with the rectangular mop and corrected it by disassembling the tube from the rectangular piece. There are two screws that will need to be removed in order to get access to the connector. Once the connector is removed from the rectangular piece you will need to **** out the clog. I used a small drill bit and was able to do this without attaching the bit to a drill. There is a slight angle to the connector which causes the clog to occur. The total job took about 45 minutes to accomplish. I could have purchased a replacement for $21.95 but thought I’d take a shot at fixing it. Hope this helps.
