How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :
A possible cause might be that the tank is not properly seated. To assure the tank is seated properly, pick it up and re-seat is so it sits snugly on the unit. If this doesn`t fix the problem, make sure the tank is assembled properly. To make sure they are both latched properly, pick the tank up by its handle.
Check your hose for any cracks or holes that can cause loss of suction. You may also have a clog in the lower hose. Pull down and at an angle to disconnect. A clog in the main hose could also be the problem.
First, check to make sure the clean tank has water and/or the water & formula mixture in the tank. If your tank is empty, this could be the reason your machine is not spraying. You will need to fill your clean tank again. Reseat the tank and ensure it sits snug on the machine.
If you still have reduced or no spray it might mean the pump has lost its prime. To fix this, turn the power off and then back on. Wait for one minute, then depress the trigger.
Hold the end of the hose below the water level in the tank to prime. With a full tank of water and the Machine off and reclined press the clean shot button `on` Wait for the clean shot to run for a few seconds, this will reprime your machine.
It is obtained by measuring how many inches up a tube the vacuum motor`s intake can pull up, or lift, the water. For the Water Lift test, there is no air moving through the motor. It is a sealed suction measurement to find the pure suction force of the motor.
Locate the brush reset button on the lower back right of the vacuum. Press the button to reset the brushroll To ensure the brush has been reset, plug the vacuum back into the electrical outlet.

I have a Bissell Pro 2x carpet cleaner. The water heats properly as well as spraying the cleaning product. However, when I go to suction the water from the carpets, the 2 in 1 water tank bladder works properly but there is no dirty water outside the bladder. I have only used this carpet cleaner ~ 5 times and in the beginning I had to empty the suctioned water quite frequently as it was dirty and it could not not hold any more water. So I have done 1 room and all the dirt remains in the carpet
ANSWER : Check that the suction cone is not blocked. Check that the filter or hose to the bladder isn’t blocked as well.

ANSWER : Does water squirt out of the hose nozzle, if it does, then check the heater inside the handle asm. Make sure that where the tubes hook up to it are not clogged. If water doesn’t squirt, check for the seal at the bottom of the tank, it needs to be on the tank, not in the hole, this is for the soap bottle also, there is a seal on the bottom of it as well. The flow indictor cap is leaking air or maybe is too tight. If you had the top cover off, make sure that the tubes are routed right so as not to get pinched when the cover is put back on, the smart mix knob should be in the water setting and that the piston is on the bottom of the smart mix knob. Pump is bad. Try running a mix of vinegar and water to see if that unclogs the lines. Is the top cover and the base tight together in the back, sometimes the top breaks loose and it will raise up and it can’t spray, just re-fasten it down.

ANSWER : The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn’t seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
With the fill tube blocked with ice the water can drip down the back wall or drip into the ice bin or just stop up. You can use a hairdryer to thaw the tube out.

ANSWER : The flat belt on you machine has an access panel to it from the side of the machine. That belt runs the pump if it is broken or came off the machine won’t pump.
.
.Check to make sure both of the red/black circular rubber gaskets on either solution or recovery tank are on the tanks and not stuck down inside the inlet valves on the machine itself.
.
.Make sure there is fluid in both tanks. Without fluid in both tanks the pump loses prime and will not work.
.
.If all that checks out then you are down replacing the pump, but usually when the pump goes out, you will have a short burst of water when you first turn it on and then it stops working.
.
.Hope that helps you out-Good Luck

It also has a power hand unit that dispenses shampoo. All along the hand unit has continued to dispense shampoo. Symptom #1, the water tank seemed to be taking on shampoo, as it was getting sudsy. Symptom #2 – On wash mode, nothing would come out, on Rinse mode, sudsy water would come out. Later, symptom #3 – not
