My built-in Electrolux vac is about 10 years old and I want to clean and oil the main suction motor. At which points do I oil the motor and will 3-in-one oil work or is there a special lubricant.
John
ANSWER : Do not oil the motor as it is not required, nor is there any place to put oil. the carbon brushes should be replaced though. carefully remove one brush and bring it to a vacuum repair facility. they should be able to match it up. there is a # on the side of the motor
ie: ####-## put a 116 on the front of # and you should have mfr. part # of motor. you may need that to obtain carbons.
