Use hot water or steam to wash your meat grinder thoroughly. Make sure to use a proper cleaning detergent or sanitizer (consult your manual for best choice) to clean your unit. Use a soft-bristle brush or non-abrasive pad to scrub any additional grime or residue.
Hyperbolic Gear Oil has excellent anti-extreme pressure & anti-wear performance, a lubricating oil has a high loading capacity. Designed for meat mincing machines.
A very soft grease to ensure sufficient `wetting` of the gears. Ester is the preferred base oil for metal on metal gears but a grease with an Ester and Polyalphaolefin (PAO) blend is chosen to lower the cost.
Soak the grinder in isopropyl alcohol.

Place the pieces of the grinder in a bath of isopropyl alcohol. You can use a tupperware or a resealable bag. Make sure all pieces are submerged. Let it sit for about 30 minutes to an hour, then remove the grinder pieces.

For restaurants, it is suggested that the automatic or manual meat grinder must be cleaned after every few hours, best after 4 hours.
Spray or wipe a thin layer of food-grade mineral oil onto the outside and inside of the metal parts, including the screw and pusher. Store the meat grinder disassembled, placing small parts in a plastic storage bag with a small handful or rice. The rice absorbs moisture and further prevents rusting.

What`s a Gun Oil? Gun oil is a highly refined petroleum-based lubricant. It differs from motor, 3-in-1 and other oils in it`s level of purity. Beyond lubrication, also contains additives designed to protect the metal parts of a gun from corrosion and rust.
Cleaning Grinders by boiling them is one of the most common methods for fixing a stuck grinder. Go ahead and start boiling your grinder for five to ten minutes. After it is done boiling, you will want to use a paper towel to clean between the nooks and grooves. Even a q-tip will work for a deeper clean.
Like any other piece of equipment with moving parts, meat slicers need to be lubricated in order to ensure safety, optimum performance, and longevity. Unlike other kinds of equipment, however, they must be lubricated with food-grade oil.

My built-in Electrolux vac is about 10 years old and I want to clean and oil the main suction motor. At which points do I oil the motor and will 3-in-one oil work or is there a special lubricant.

ANSWER : Do not oil the motor as it is not required, nor is there any place to put oil. the carbon brushes should be replaced though. carefully remove one brush and bring it to a vacuum repair facility. they should be able to match it up. there is a # on the side of the motor
ie: ####-## put a 116 on the front of # and you should have mfr. part # of motor. you may need that to obtain carbons.
